Summary
First fic to ever post!
I don't want to put up the most detailed summary yet, so this will change in the future:Dean Winchester has always been living for others, his body never really quite his. Once it had mostly been for John, his father. Dean had never thought twice about being John's caretaker instead of the other way around whenever he got too drunk.
And why would he?
That was always the protocol anyway.
Then, it was for Sammy. Protect Sammy. Teach Sammy this and that. Be there for your little brother. Provide for Sammy.
But one day, when Dean's behavior proves sloppy, he and an unnerving stranger are forced into hiding, forcing Dean to call up Bobby to go pick up his brother.
As the days pass by, little things start to add up, creating a deadly concoction of suspicion, deceit, and an otherworldly force drawing Dean into the stranger's orbit.

Summary
Dean watches as his father walks out on he and his brother for the last time. He's desperate. Sam is about to turn 18, graduate, and go off to Stanford. Dean's life has only been about protecting his brother and watching over his grief-stricken father. So when John leaves and Sam inches closer to moving to California, Dean finds himself not needed. When a chance encounter with a man named Castiel gives him the opportunity to feel needed again, Dean jumps at it. But he doesn't know what he's gotten himself into.
