If he's being honest with himself, Loki might admit that this situation has gotten a little out of hand.
He's never been the biggest fan of going out with Thor's rowdy bunch of friends in the first place but month after month and year after year, he finds himself tagging along anyway. Ostensibly, it's because Thor's one of those people who thinks it's important to regularly hang out with your friends and organize group activities and his brother always gets the saddest look in his eye when Loki says he might be too busy. In actuality, Loki still drags himself all over town for laser tag or a movie night, or because Fandral's found some new club he wants to try because it's the only time he gets to see Sif anymore.

Three days since he'd found Sif caught in the maw of a berserker's rage, beaten and bloodied by the horrors that roamed the realm, her fury the only thing compelling her to stand and fight.

august 2013, a newly heartbroken Sif runs into a tense and frustrated Loki on a disgustingly rainy day. from the first moment, sparks certainly fly, but they happen to look more like a vicious inferno rather than a romantic fire. luckily, the two of them seem to be on completely different paths so they'll never have to deal with the displeasure of running into each other again...right?
wrong.
after ten years, five unexpected run-ins, and an antagonism that might just be blossoming into something uncomfortably close to friendship, Loki and Sif are starting to think that maybe sometimes coincidence looks an awful lot like fate.

when Thor, Sif, and the Warriors Three are sent on a diplomatic envoy to Jotunheim, Sif doesn't quite know what to expect, particularly since Odin and Frigga have forbidden Loki from joining the trip for reasons unknown. as much as his exclusion baffles her, she can't quite find it in herself to be completely upset, especially since he's spent the last few months actively avoiding her. but when an unexpected face shows up in the Jotun court, what was supposed to be a simple (if tense) mission gets turned on its head.
