By the time the Parents-Teacher conference rolled around, Anthony was desperately curious to meet this Miss Katie woman, who was beginning to sound like a bloody superhero. Hell, if Edmund told him she had X-ray vision or could fly, Anthony might actually believe him, because apparently, there wasn't a thing that Miss Katie couldn't do.
He had been expecting to find the real-life version of Miss Honey from Matilda waiting for the parents.
What Anthony had not been expecting was to find Kathani Sharma greeting parents at the door to his son's classroom.

Reception teacher Miss Katie walks into her beginning-of-school-year Parents-Teacher meeting only to come face-to-face with one very handsome man, who was the father of one of her most darling, sweet 4-year-old students.

He stares at her for a moment, the ghost of his laughter clinging to his lips. His full, rose-pink lips. And then he opens them, and out comes the sweetest honey. “May I have the next dance, Miss Sharma?” Kate’s mouth drops, and she feels a flush zip up her spine. Never mind that she really, truly does want to dance with this stranger, wants to feel those arms brush against her, his hands around her own, have him smile at her.
“What makes you think I would accept the offer from a rake as such as yourself?”
He tucks his chin to his chest, and the way his grin makes her heart thump is really, terribly, unfortunate.
“I assure you, Miss Sharma, any liberties shared with my sister are not as cunning or as evil as you are imagining, and what with my mother out hunting her this very moment, I believe there are bigger issues to worry ourselves over for Eloise's sake.” He finishes, leaning slightly in, “wouldn’t you agree?”

Anthony arrives to the season a little later than expected, and Kate finds herself charmed by a pleasing smile, what chance did they have? Anthony isn't looking for a wife, but may have accidentally found one, anyway.

Ben scrunched up his nose, his expression sheepish. “I think my brother might be your soulmate.”
Kate couldn’t help but snort. A few minutes ago, she had been ready to shag Ben, and now he was telling her that it was his brother she was meant to be with — if one believed in that nonsense.
Ridiculous. A practical joke by the universe, that’s what that was.
Letting go of her, Ben held up his pointer finger. “Just let me call him. I’m sure he’ll want to meet you.”
“What if I don’t want to meet him?”
“Just meet him,” Ben said with a roll of his eyes. “And then you can tell him to fuck off, if you want.”
