Summary
He breathes in again to make sure he isn’t imagining things. It could be a hallucination. It could be someone walking through the halls, but the halls are empty and Kaelix is still sitting there with a rising blush on his face. When his hair falls down he looks more delicate than normal. He’s always been pretty, in fact. Zeal just tried to ignore it.

Summary
At St. Jude’s Academy, Kaelix stands as the model student: Student Council President, top of his class, and always impeccably dressed. His perfect facade is a survival mechanism to hide the abuse he endures from Principal Miller and his father's business associates. To his dismay, Kaelix is assigned to tutor Zeal, the school's outcast and supposed "terror." Zeal has accepted the world's label as a Monster and Trash and decided that if he’s going to be "trash," he’ll be the most dangerous trash in the room. Through their lessons and time together they start to learn more about one another, and learn that they need each other id they want to survive this school.

Summary
“You have the voice of an angel. I’d walk a mile barefoot over broken glass just to hear you sing one more time.”
“You would?” the boy whispers.
“I would,” Zeal affirms, then drinks the melted ice from his glass.
The boy beams and then says, “Every Wednesday, 11:00PM, right here. Next week, come barefoot.” He leans in, and Zeal expects to receive a kiss on the cheek, but what the boy gives him instead is a bite so gentle that it’s more like the caress of his teeth against Zeal’s jaw.
