“You seem distressed.” Beomgyu said in the softest voice imaginable.
Yeonjun fell onto it like a sword, letting it slice through the armor he had patching onto himself throughout the day. The gentle syllables wrapped around his heart like a cradle for him to rest in. Yes, he was distressed, but he hadn’t given the feeling a name until now.
Yeonjun dragged the towel once more over his chin. His fingers raked back his hair only for it to fall back into damp spikes against his forehead and temple. His gaze hadn’t left Beomgyu’s pretty face once.
“I’m tired.” he admitted.
Beomgyu’s fingers returned, this time more thorough in tucking away a strand of hair that was poking Yeonjun in the eye and making him wince.
“You’re exhausted.” Beomgyu corrected. “You forge ahead on pure grit and determination, but it will only carry you so far.”
Yeonjun curled his fingers softly around Beomgyu’s wrist.
“If I fall here?” he asked, voice grating with weary emotion. “What kind of king does that make me?”
Beomgyu’s fingers traced down over the curve of his ear, down to his chest.
“Then fall.” he whispered like a challenge. “Let’s see what kind of man you are in front of only me.”- Language:
