Shane: Genuinely, it feels great. Things with my old team haven’t exactly ended well, and i’m glad that the centaurs are so welcoming and just kind.
Ilya: fuck montreal
Shane: What he said.
[In this universe, Shane and Ilya didn’t get outed via fanmail]
[they grin at each other for a moment]
Shane: Anyways, it feels great. I’ve always loved playing Ilya and the all-star game 2017, when we played together on the same team, was really fucking fun so i’m looking forward to it.
Ilya: what he said.

David Hollander arrives in Montreal with homemade soup, expecting to take care of his son Shane, who’s down with the flu after missing the biggest NHL game of the season.
What he does not expect is finding Shane cuddled in the lap of his greatest hockey rival: Boston Bears captain Ilya Rozanov.
Apparently the NHL’s most legendary rivalry has secretly been a relationship for over a decade.

his son is gay,
Ilya Rozanov is basically a housewife with pharmacy bags,
and every on-ice fight was apparently foreplay.Series

Summary
Before Felix could remove his headphones, he heard it. Heavy, borderline panicked breaths. Felix realized that it must be Hollander. His mic was not turned off when he left the interview. Footsteps. And then a door opening and closing. They had filmed the interview that morning at the offices of the Irina Foundation. It sounded like maybe he had gone into his office.
“Hey, what is it? What is wrong?” Another voice. Unmistakable anywhere. Even if Felix hadn’t spent weeks now listening to it, he would still have recognized Ilya Rozanov’s voice.

What if the filmmaker making the documentary about Hollander and Rozanov discovered the truth about their relationship. So he approaches Shane and Ilya about filming them over the course of the 2020/2021 season to create an honest documentary that tells the true story of their lives. Canon-divergent AU set during The Long Game.

Summary
The picture is leaked on a random fucking Tuesday in November, months after Ilya was last in Montreal.
Grainy and dark, enhanced digitally to shit but still just recognisable enough; Shane Hollander smiling dopily as a broad-shouldered man in a dark hoodie has him pushed up against a red brick wall, one knee lifted to hook around the back of a thigh, a large hand possessively holding it in place as the hooded figure has his face hidden in the crook of Hollander’s neck — presumably kissing him there, intimately.
Ilya knows his team is good, and they do the best they can.
