George had been the only one who'd really seen him, in the end. Perhaps a bit too much. It’s hard not to acknowledge the only other star within the system. But anyway, it's an odd thing to know someone inside and out, especially when you wanted nothing to do with them. Max had a stupid way of breathing when he was asleep, and a stupid way of balancing his fingers on top of his knife blade when he was chopping. He likes RedBull and doesn't quite like George, and his preferred way of eating eggs is scrambled but left runny.
or, Max exits the world of fine-dining, only to come crashing back with the condition that George cooks with him this time.

have always just loved stories that use mythical humanoids as a parallel to neurodivergence, im currently writing one and so i am so delighted to be reading this.. haven't beenreading enough lately and my inspiration has just dieddieddied. this was a big help honestly :))
i just think the idea of somebody who can't really mesh well with society because of just the way they think, and another somebody who can't because they are. quite literally note human and people are frightened of them. i just think its so compelling. solidarity solidarity solidarity! dhjaksdjfhgjfek
i also just really adore the prose of this, i was confused for a while, especially towards like the earlier parts, around the middle? but i think that might've been intentional...not sure, but if it was WOAGH genius! its not frustrating confusion in any sense, so i am so super happy to have gotten to read this
i know this creator puts out notes on tumblr so i might update this when i read back. we'll see...
