“‘Sup birdie,” he hears. The voice is familiar, raspy and deep, and it makes Keigo freeze, immortalizing the smile on his face as his gaze snaps up and-and. “Long time no see.”
(or: keigo says "fuck you" to the hpsc, gets his license, has three breakdowns, and gets a boyfriend. not entirely in that order.)

Keigo was going to die.
He wouldn't have minded having Hanahaki disease with anyone else. He could've told the hero commission. They would've cut the flowers out of his lungs, clean and quick in a painless operation, the feelings gone in seconds. It would have just been another tally on his times under the knife by them. If it had been beneficial, they might have even let him keep it. Let him feel, just this one time. If it had been another hero, or a civilian It would've been good for press, even — a hero with a lover. Kamui Woods and Mt. Lady had constant rumors swaying about their relationships, and their popularity never wavered.
But it wasn't a hero.
It wasn't even a girl.
It was Dabi.
