Summary
Aventurine's life after being adopted by Madam Jade has been nothing short of a dream. He has his own room at her vast estate, a warm bed, three square meals a day, and he's even being privately tutored and mentored by one of the shining stars of the Intelligentsia Guild, the illustrious and intimidatingly handsome Dr. Veritas Ratio.
The only thing is... Aventurine's got this vile itch under his skin. Evidently it's not so easy to leave Kakavasha behind, because what he's craving is Ratio's broad hands on him— hurting him, making him cry. Treating him like the Avgin whelp he still is, beneath all the neat, tailored clothes. His fantasies spur him to test the waters, seeing how far he can push Ratio, how easily he might be goaded into punishment fit for a Sigonian bed slave.
He doesn't expect Ratio to anticipate this, and he definitely doesn't expect him to agree to play along.
It comes at a high price, however... Aventurine's honesty about his desires.

Summary
It’s every resident’s dream to study under someone as renowned as Dr. Ratio. From looks to brains, undergrad’s alike aspire to be like him. They dream of just shaking his hand, to be on the receiving end of those burgundy eyes of his. To merely breathe in his presence is simply an honor.
At least, that’s what anyone who isn’t Aventurine, would say.

Finally, Ratio exhales. He steps closer to Aventurine. “I will please you. You will sit there and enjoy it. No trying to please me or get me off. You will simply be still and feel what I give you, until you lose yourself in it." Ratio's voice drops lower, his breath catches. "I want to see you come undone, Gambler."
OR: Aventurine treats sex as a performance. Ratio only wants the real thing.
