Simon just kept trying to breathe, his chest heaving up and down. His bleeding arm, still clenched and curled into himself, stung against sweat.
The blood on the ground divided the space between them, one hesitant and one wholly unwilling to cross it. Dr. Grace just kept looking at Simon with those wide, blue eyes.
“Hey…seriously, what is your name?”

Summary
In which Ryland kind of falls in love with his apartment neighbor. Now if only his brothers could stop acting like Casey was a threat to his safety. He was sometimes oblivious but not that dumb. He could make his own judgements thank you very much. The window for overprotective brother antics was far gone now. Court and Colt has to suck it up if they wanted back into his life.
OR
Like recognizes like after all. Court does not like the man that made a home by his brother's side and the feeling is mutual. Colt would like to say he's making an effort but he doesn't trust this Driver either. Ryland would very much like for the people he cared about to get along. He thinks he has earned it from what they put him through. And Casey? Well Casey already has what he wanted.

Summary
Ryland Grace, savior of humanity, is invited to a gala celebrating the 5th anniversary of solving the Astrophage Crisis. It is a mandatory scent-neutral event requiring everyone to wear heavy-duty blockers. Which is why when he is approached by Tom Ryder stinking the room with his alpha scent, he considers two explanations.
One: Tom Ryder is an entitled jerk who thinks he is above even the mandated policies of the Petrova Foundation.
Two: Since no one else seems to be reacting to Ryder, this means that only Ryland can smell him. Which means their compatibility is so high that it bypassed industrial-grade blockers.
Or in more romantic terms, they are soulmates.
But if that's the case, why does Ryder smell so repulsive to him? Answer: Definitely Option One. Right?
OR:
Scenting is usually taken as an afterthought in Omegaverse. This is an attempt to explore the biological, cultural, and sociopolitical implications of such an ability if taken seriously in our world-building.
An exercise in speculative biology, delivered through the medium of Starstruck (Ryder/Grace).

Summary
Grace kept running, using frantic energy he had never felt before. He was sure if he just ran long enough, he would escape.
Suddenly the trees ended and he was running through a meadow. The ground flattened and Grace ran faster, each breath burning in his throat as he chased his freedom.
Something hit his back. He fell to the ground, the shock of it bringing tears to his eyes.
Hands grabbed his arms, yanking them behind him. He twisted, crying out as he tried to get free, but he was no match for the weight pinning him down.
He twisted his head to look up as Simon pulled a needle out of his pocket, pulling the cap off with his teeth and spitting it to the side. His gaze was cold, determined.
“Please,” Grace begged. “Please, don’t do this Simon!”
“I’m sorry,” the man said. “I have to.”
He plunged the needle into Grace’s neck.
In other words, Simon learns that Grace is getting sent on the Hail Mary and he makes the most selfish decision possible: saving Grace himself.

Stratt turned around and with a wave of her hand another man had walked over, “You’ll be remaining here with Dr. Grace. I trust you can keep him out of trouble.”
“Shouldn’t be a problem.” The other man’s voice was smooth, and if Grace was hearing correctly it almost sounded like there was an undercurrent of mirth.
That’s when it clicked, was Stratt siccing a babysitter on him? “Hold on! What trouble are you thinking I'm going to get into?” Should he be offended? He was a grown man, he’d worked in countless labs before and sure he’d had some questionable outcomes but they’d just let him be the first scientist to study an alien life form! They should have more trust in him than this!
”Everyone in the world wants to get their hands on astrophage. Simon is here to protect you from them.” Stratt explained, turning again to give Grace an exasperated expression. “I should hope you don’t need constant supervision from yourself Dr. Grace.”
