Not just two ideologies that wouldn’t mix, but two warring personalities that refused to make room for each other. Charles would always be too passive and cooperative with the outside world for Erik’s brash and spitfire ways. He’d be a fool to think that could ever change. He was a fool for thinking that they ever had a chance.
