Henry nods, leaning against his own door frame. Alex isn’t sure what the man does outside of going to grad school at NYU, but it must be bench-pressing horses based on the size of his biceps. Henry reaches up to push his glasses higher on his nose and Alex swears he wasn’t that bisexual when the day started. “Would you like to wait in my apartment for your friend?”

Alex gets locked out his apartment on Christmas Eve. He's forced to take refuge in his neighbor and occasional fuck buddy Henry's apartment, and together the two get into the Christmas spirit with the help of a festive costume and a silk ribbon.

Liam thinks he should have more questions about the parcel—and he probably will in a minute, given that it’s his literal job to ask them—but right now, he’s pretty focused on remembering how his knees are supposed to work.

Not in all the months he’s been coming here, ever since it opened: flirting with the outrageously hot bartender who doesn’t offer a menu and instead sits down and introduces himself to his customers, talks to them about what they like to drink, and then pulls something together based on their specific tastes. Not tonight, when he came without June or Nora, never straying from his barstool, letting Henry mix him a few drinks over the course of the evening, all of them different and all of them, inevitably, perfect. Not when he was teasingly comparing the high-brow cocktails to college body shots and claiming that there wasn’t any difference, just to see the flash in Henry’s eyes as he’d argued. Not after last call, when he’d stayed where he was as the speakeasy emptied around them, fingers circling the rim of his long-empty glass, and Henry had let him.
Or, Henry is a speakeasy bartender, and Alex is the surface for body shots. Then they fuck about it. That's the fic.
