“If you are listening to me logically, you would be able to tell it right away that I’m talking about Atsumu.” Sakusa strikes back, “The reason why you got confused was probably because there’s a part of you that wishes for Osamu-san to change his mind.”
Rintarou finally understands why Motoya apologized for his cousin beforehand, because Sakusa Kiyoomi managed to hit all his sore spots with just one single line.

There's a figure sitting there. Black shirt, sleeves pushed up. A backward cap. Skin a shade darker than the last time he saw him, marked with faint tan lines. Chapped lips, brows furrowed even in sleep. His body curled toward the bed, like he’d been keeping vigil. Like he hadn’t moved in hours.
Miya Osamu. Former boyfriend. Former best friend. Lives four hours away.
And yet, here he was. In Shizuoka. Apparently magically appeared out of nowhere to sit by Rintarou’s hospital bed.
In 2018, Miya Osamu picked up a call, drove four hours, and tried to untangle everything with his own two hands.

Olruggio pressed his cheek harder into his forearm. Tears gathered on the bottom of his eyes again. “I have no right to feel like this, Qifrey.” His dark eyebrows tensed, face crumpling again. A sob wracked through him. “I have no right.”
Something cold and ugly twisted in the pit of Qifrey’s stomach. He tried to push any words out of his throat, but they stubbornly stuck against his teeth.
Qifrey finds Olruggio poured against the floor of the inn they were staying in, grappling with the ache of loneliness.

Moonlight spills through the cracks in the canopy of trees; the dark sky is a gaping mess of cavities and black teeth and starlight fillings.
Suna’s cheeks are bright red. He spins the tab of a beer can between his fingers, and his helix piercing glints metallic. He’s pretty like this—eyes flashing silver, mouth flushed a gentle pink. Osamu is close enough to see the green rings of his irises.
He says softly, “I love you.”
“Okay,” Osamu whispers faintly, the words making space in his ribcage for the cool night air to fill his lungs. “Okay.”
Five times Suna tells Osamu he loves him, and one time Osamu says it back.
