That didn’t bother her though. She didn’t care that her friends gave her strange looks when she still sat on his lap as a teenager, or when he would blow on her food to cool it before bringing the spoon to her mouth, watching her lips as they wrapped around the utensil. She didn’t shy away from asking him to spread sunscreen on her back, didn’t feel embarrassed when he’d gently tug at the strings to untie them to better get to all of her.
They didn’t understand, and they didn’t need to. Her daddy was the only one she needed, anyways. He always took care of her.
