Summary
Two weeks after the disaster of a conference that was meant to be his academic victory run and the successful start of the rest of his life as a molecular biologist, Ryland Grace escapes to one of Washington’s state parks. Hiding away in his twin brother’s cabin, Ryland has to come to terms with the fact that the life he worked so hard for had slipped right through his fingers because his ego had been larger than his logical brain, and now he’s haunted by a community of scientists and online enthusiasts yearning to run what little is left of his dignity into the ground.
But as a hike, one fuelled mostly by spite because obviously he didn’t learn his lesson just yet, goes south, he’s forced to call the rangers for help. And because life hates him, the ranger who told him not to wander into the woods is the one to take his call.
Something about ranger Simon’s disapproving and definitely disappointed look cuts deeper than he anticipated.

Summary
The thing is- and this is something he won't write down or say out loud, not to FRIDAY or Pepper or Rhodey or anyone else- is that Ryland's been back in his life for three months now and they've kissed approximately 47 times (Tony's not counting, but FRIDAY is, even though he's asked her to stop). They've gotten to second and even second and-a-half base- which, awesome, more of that please- but they haven't had sex. Not in twenty something years. Not yet, not fully.
He's going to fix this. He has a plan.
AKA, Tony's super-secret-super-awesome plan to have sex with his boyfriend. It doesn't work, and then it does.

Summary
"There's no need to negotiate for your safety, Doctor Grace," Stratt says sternly. "I can assure you, after saving the world, you will be looked after."
"Um, no," he says, shaking his head. "I'm not negotiating for my safety." He steps aside. “I’m negotiating for theirs.”
They walk into the light of the open doorway; Simon, squinting hard against the vivid sun with his hand raised to shield his eyes and Rocky, who chirps a casual "Hello, humans!" with a wave.
There’s a gasp; someone takes a step backward; one of the military personnel raises their rifle slightly before Stratt makes a sharp gesture for them to stand down.
Grace doesn’t have eyes for them - he only looks at Stratt.
And he decides, then and there, to replace the image of Stratt’s face sending him to his death, full of remorse and sadness, with the one in front of him: utter, complete disbelief.
