Beomgyu wiped a lone, stubborn tear that had clung to Seunghyun's cheek away with his thumb, and then let his hand rest atop his shoulder. He wasn't even sure if the words were meant for him at first, spoken so quietly, so softly that they could have been the wind, but he waited for him to repeat them regardless.
"Teacher, you smell just like my mommy."
Beomgyu didn't know how badly he needed the test to be positive until it was already in his hands.

“I said you’re going to die, and you’re just gonna leave? Just like that?”
Without looking back, Beomgyu lifted the curtain and took a step outside.
“I know what you are, Beomgyu.”
The two at the exit paused. Quiet and still. Until Yeonjun broke that silence.
“A vampire.”
Beomgyu stayed rooted in place. Both him and Minchae, tense and stiff, like the one word was enough to have them frozen in fear.
“But don’t worry, I won’t tell,” Yeonjun let a sharp smile pierce his lips. “Because, Beomgyu, you and your sister aren’t the only vampires in here.”
Or, Yeonjun makes money by scamming people with psychic readings. While some may be gifted with the power of insight, he is not, and instead, he keenly observes his clients to give them exactly what they want to hear. Except, sometimes he does drift into another world when he does a reading. Sometimes he is able to see what his clients are asking to know, but it’s never about the person sitting in his booth paying him. What he sees is a boy with the sharpest of fangs and who smells of the ripest of cherries. And one day, that same boy finally appears in front of Yeonjun’s booth.

Yeonjun is hired to be the personal guard of Choi Beomgyu, the only child of an wealthy family with a questionable concern for the vulnerability of their fully grown son. He has worked with plenty of rich clients before so he is well versed in the nitty-gritty of protecting individuals due to their high-status, however, Beomgyu's parents seemed to be focused on protecting him from something else entirely. And consequently, what Yeonjun would've previously considered a rather old-fashioned and out of touch pseudoscience has become his reality.
