“I’m so sorry. I haven’t been able to introduce myself to you properly.” The man looked toward Viktor with a soft smile, motioning him toward the open seat as he pulled it out in invitation. Viktor’s eyebrows raised, he was skeptical. But curious.
“I’m Jayce.”
Viktor took his seat, wordlessly staring at the other. It was a surprise that the man was suddenly so willing to speak to him after the events that took place days ago. What could have possibly changed?
“… You’re Viktor.”
Swallowing dryly, Viktor nodded. “No I’m… Uhm. Yes. I am Viktor.”
A smile. And then the teacher began her lesson.
Viktor did not pay attention.

Summary
Even though she was an assistant, Sky wasn't called to the lab often, you call it a Lovecraftian cliché from her part, but things out of this world happened there.
One day Viktor disappeared and never returned, leaving Jayce and their reaserch behind. What the woman did not know and could not have imagined was that Viktor never left the laboratory.
"[...] The being watched me with its large, wide-open eyes, taking in its surroundings; then it opened its mouth and let out a cry that echoed through the silent laboratory like thunder as its lungs filled with air for the first time. I snapped out of the trance that had kept me from moving and went over to the creature. It had dark skin and alert eyes. I took it upon myself to name it Sastigar.”

Summary
They survived their journey through the Arcane, but Viktor came out of it with life-changing injuries that nearly killed him. After a lengthy hospital stay, Jayce is finally able to bring him home where they can begin anew. The recovery isn't going to be easy, but Jayce will be there for Viktor every step of the way. Together, they will not only learn how to heal, but how to love and support each other.

A flower stand catches Jayce’s attention, and he stops for a moment to peruse the selections. Would a bouquet be appropriate? Or would that be too much?
Coming home from the hospital is a big deal after all.
“Anything catching your eye?” The lady running the stand asks with a wry grin.
“Hmm … ” Jayce searches for a moment, until he sees what he’s looking for, yellow and orange all bundled together. “Can I get a bouquet of these marigolds? Just a small one. I have plenty of flowers back home.”
“Of course,” She says, plucking the chosen flowers and wrapping their stems up. “For your wife? Or …”
“Ah, they’re for my partner. I’m on my way to pick him up from the hospital.”
