The Save
It’s finally time to bust Bakugou out of that terrible camp that he is in. Kirishima is determined to get his boyfriend back.
When they first found the pamphlet a few weeks ago, Kirishima wanted to go right away, but Sero had mentioned that the place is far away so they would need to save some money to get there.
To Kirishima’s dismay, he agreed to properly prepare before putting them all in danger.
They even asked Yaoyorozu for help and she agreed to accompany them along with Jirou.
Once they got prepared, they took a train to the country-side and made the trek towards the camp.
By the time they got there, it was already dark. Sero pulls out his phone with a cabin on it and looks at the giant cabin.
“Yeah, this is the place,” Sero confirms, stashing the phone back in his pocket.
“How big is this place?” Ashido asks, wandering towards an open field. The others follow and see the vastness of the property. They thought that it was just a giant cabin but there’s also some big cabins in the distance. Closer to them, they see a storage unit where they find sports balls being stored.
“This place is huge!” Kaminari comments, “How are we gonna get in?” He asks.
“Through the front?” Ashido suggests, plainly.
“Considering the time of day, our footsteps would echo and we’d be heard very easily,” Yaoyorozu explains.
“So we’d have to create a diversion,” Sero states.
“Exactly,” Jirou confirms.
With that in mind, the group sets to think of a way to create a good enough diversion that they can get inside. They would need to create a big enough diversion that they’ll have time to get inside.
Kirishima then looks at the storage cabin and gets an idea. “What if we create a fire in here?” He suggests, pointing at the storage cabin.
“That could work,” Jirou agrees.
Yaoyorozu gets to work creating some matches while Sero opens the back window. Jirou strikes a match and throws it through the window. Yaoyorozu inspects their damage and sees there indeed is a fire starting. On closer inspection, she notices a gas tank inside that was close to the flames. She quickly moves away and ducks before an explosion shatters the glass and makes the fire bigger. The group stares at the burning cabin in surprise.
“Well we did want a big diversion”, Jirou comments.
The group runs to hide and waits for the audience to appear. Just as expected, an adult spots the fire and runs inside. They return with a few other adults with fire extinguishers. They use this time to make a break for the entrance. Kirishima looks back and sees a crowd of children soon appear as well.
What they don’t see is the caretaker that spots them, or the caretaker that’s sent after them.
They enter the giant cabin and Jirou uses her ear jacks to listen for any movement before going any further. She gives them a thumbs up and they head deeper into the cabin. They turn a corner too quick and spot 2 people heading toward them! Sero quickly restrains them with his tape and Kirishima begins to question them.
“Who are you and what have you done with Katsuki?!” Kirishima whisper-yells.
“I’m Kumiko and this is Taeko,” the girl with glasses and dreads replies. “Who are you guys and whose Katsuki?” She asks back.
“Don’t play dumb with me!” Kirishima retorts back.
“Kirishima chill, they probably don’t know who Katsuki is since that’s his given name,” Sero explains to Kirishima trying to calm his friend down.
“I’m Sero, this is Kirishima, Ashido, Kaminari, Jirou, and Yaoyorozu. We are friends of Bakugou’s and we believe he is being kept here,” Sero explains to Kumiko.
“Oh, Bakugou, yeah he’s here, and can tell you where he is if you untie us,” Kumiko offers.
Yaoyorozu makes a knife and cuts them free. They suddenly hear footsteps and Kumiko gestures for them to follow her. They make it into the kitchen area of the cafeteria and they huddle under a table.
“Alright, Bakugou was taken away for starting a fire,” Kumiko begins to explain, “He’s already gotten into a lot of trouble with the caretakers so they’re probably giving him a really bad punishment. We were actually looking for him too when you guys jumped us,”
“Well where do they usually punish people here?” Jirou asks Kumiko.
“We already checked the main rooms but he wasn’t there,” She responds.
“We can always check the office to see if there’s any information there,” Taeko suggests.
“Yes! They’ll surely have records or even a floor plan of this place,” Yaoyorozu adds-on.
“Awesome, the office is in the back,” Kumiko informs the group.
They quietly exit the kitchen and head towards the office, following Kumiko and Taeko. They turn a corner when they come face-to-face with a caretaker. She quickly places her hand on the wall and turns on all the lights. She uses her other hand and pulls out a walkie-talkie. “I’ve located the trespassers,” She informs on her device.
“Run!” Kumiko yells, as they run away, Kaminari uses his quirk to turn all the lights back off. He accidentally blows the fuse of the place but the lights are off so that’s all that matters.
They run for the office but are stopped short by a bunch of caretakers, Kumiko points to a door and they are led back outside. There, they are surrounded by even more caretakers. They’re all identical, meaning that this is a quirk. “Because you came here unannounced, we are going to have to take you into custody and report you kids,” the caretaker explains to them.
“Not without a fight you’re not,” Kirishima rebuttals.
The caretaker sighs “Very well,” she states. Suddenly, her copies are moving towards them, separatings the group. Kirishima hardens his arms. When the copy throws the first punch and Kirishima blocks, he tries to regroup instead of attacking. Unfortunately for Kirishima there are too many copies and regrouping is becoming harder and harder. As Kirishima is dodging one copy’s attacks, another restrains his arms. Restrained, Kirishima looks and sees that Sero and Yaoyorozu were able to restrain some copies. Kaminari has been knocking them out with sneak attacks. Kaminari notices Kirishima’s position and unleashes a series of short bursts and knocks out the copies around Kirishima, including the one restraining him.
“Good aim Kami, I didn’t think you brought your equipment though?” Kirishima comments.
“I didn’t, Yaoyorozu made it,” Kaminari answers.
With that, they are able to regroup, but are surrounded again by copies. They then hear a scream and see Kumiko, her eyes are glowing red and suddenly a laser beam shoots out of her eyes and vaporizes the copies which angers the caretaker. Taeko’s hair then starts moving and immobilizes some copies making it easy for Kumiko to vaporize them.
“We have to help Kumiko!” Ashido yells. The group then helps to restrain the copies while Kumiko vaporizes them. Sero and Yaoyorozu easily restrain them, Kaminari shocks them, Jirou trips them with vibrations in the ground, and Kirishima and Ashido work to knock them out.
While they fight, Yaoyorozu notices that every time the caretaker speaks, a copy is made. “Guys we have to restrain her mouth!” Yaoyorozu yells.
Sero works to make a path towards the caretaker by tapping them to the ground. Kumiko creates a diversion by shooting a laser beam which makes the caretaker close her eyes instinctively. With this opportunity, Sero is able to tape her mouth while Taeko restrains the caretaker with her hair.
“Now that’s out of the way, we have to find the office,” Kirishima comments.
“It’s that window over there,” Kumiko points out.
The group runs towards the window when they hear a scream behind them. The caretaker starts to struggle against Taeko’s hair and see the caretaker start to cut Taeko’s hair. The caretaker then rips the tape off her mouth and creates more copies. Yaoyorozu restrains some more copies while Kumiko works on protecting Taeko.
The group starts to head back when Jirou stops them, “Go through the window before she blocks it again!” She yells back, “We can handle her,” she reassures the rest of the group.
Feeling confident in their friends, Kirishima, Ashido, Kaminari, and Sero run towards the window and Kirishima opens it.
In the office, the group works on searching for any records or floor plans. A lot of it was boring paperwork and contracts. Unfortunately the best they found was information on the caretakers. Apparently the caretaker who can make copies is the one in charge, and created this place after she apparently helped her son get over his “phase”.
“Do you guys need help?” Someone asks. The group turn to the voice and see a ginger girl with a headband on. “What are you looking for?” She asks.
“We’re looking for information as to where Bakugou is,” Ashido answers.
“Bakugou-kun? He got in trouble for starting that fire,” She states.
“Do you know where he is?” Kirishima asks.
“Hm, unfortunately not but I could help you look,” she offers kindly.
With that, they search the room again. Kirishima looks at more information on the caretakers with Sero while Kaminari and Ashido with the girl, search the rest of the room.
“I’m Sachiko by the way,” She provides to the group. As she is scanning the walls, she notices a line in the wall. She pushes on it and the wall swivels, revealing a stairway. The group approaches and decides to explore it.
They make it to the basement part of the cabin and notice all the hallways. “Which way do we go?” Ashido asks
“Let’s go this way,” Sachiko suggests. The group follows her and they find themselves at the end of the hallway. In front of them is 2 doors.
Looking at the 2 doors, Kirishima quickly opens one of the doors. Hoping to finally see Bakugou, his heart drops when he’s greeted with an empty room. Suddenly the door closes shut behind them with Sachiko in front of it.
“I did enjoy helping you but unfortunately my mom would hate it if she can’t get what she wants,” Sachiko explains “Fortunately unfortunately, I can’t let you save Bakugou-kun just yet.” “Also, everyone knows left is for sinners,” She adds on with an sly smirk.
Next thing they know, she is quickly tapping them all. Once done, she stands before them with something that resembles clay in her hands. It drips on the floor and then grey clones of themselves with red eyes appear.
Each clone approaches the respective one and begins attacking. Kirishima’s clone throws punch after punch while Kirishima hardens his skin. Kirishima throws his own punch but the clone doesn’t harden. He throws another punch and the clone still doesn’t harden. “I don’t think these clones can use our quirks,” Kirishima comments.
“Then let’s hit them where it hurts,” Sero suggests with a grin. Ashido hits her clone with acid and it melts into a puddle. She smiles but then the puddle rebuilds itself and her smile falls.
Distracted, Kirishima’s clone slams him against the wall. “I hope you enjoy your time with Bakugou, he’s gonna leave you once High School is over,” his clone threatens him. Kirishima’s eyes widen and he screams, throwing the clone on the wall. “Admit it, you’re not what he’s looking for in a hero partner and he’ll find someone much better,” the clone adds-on. “That’s not true!” Kirishima yells back, holding back tears.
Ashido’s clone wraps her in a choke-hold and whispers in her ear, “You know you’ll never graduate right?” Her clone taunts. “You’re gonna get someone killed with how much of an airhead you are,” the clone adds on. “I know when to get serious!” Ashido retorts, elbowing the clone in the stomach which makes the clone let go of their grasp.
Sero attempts to restrain their clone but it grabs the tape and restrains him instead. “Your friends wouldn’t even care if you died,” the clone states, “They wouldn’t even notice, you’re so boring,” they add-on with a smirk. Sero smirks and uses his legs to trip his clone and pins him to the ground. “It’ll be hard to get rid of me that easily, besides, my humor makes me quite popular,” Sero states.
Kaminari attempts to shoot shock bolts at his clone but he dodges them with ease. The clone ends up pinning Kaminari on the wall by his neck. “God, you’re so annoying, no wonder your friends don’t like spending time with you,” his clone criticizes. Kaminari frowns and kicks his clone away. “I for one know my friends enjoy the chaos I bring,” Kaminari retorts back sternly.
The group continues to fight their clones while their clones keep hitting them with hurtful words aimed at their insecurities.
Kirishima pushes his clone back with hardened arms when he notices Sero needs help.
Kirishima knocks his clone on a wall and rushes to Sero’s side. Sero tries to capture his clone but he keeps evading him delivering snarky remarks on how boring he is, angering Sero further.
Kirishima comes up from behind the clone and knocks him out. “Sero, don’t let the clone’s words get to you, you are an amazing person!” Kirishima reassures his friend.
“Man thanks Kirishima, you make taking me out look so easy,” Sero comments with a genuine smile.
“Well then why don’t we fight each other if that’s easier?” Kaminari asks while dodging a punch from his clone.
With that in mind they switch opponents and begin to take each other’s clones with ease. They even counter their comments with reassuring words, leaving the clones speechless and making them melt permanently, to Sachiko’s dismay.
With their clones defeated, Sero restrains Sachiko. “As much as it sucks that you betrayed us, we appreciate you showing us where Bakugou is,” Ashido tells Sachiko with a smile.
“We’ll take her up, Kirishima, go get your Katsuki,” Sero instructed with a confident smile.
Wasting no time, Kirishima rushes to the other room and inside he sees Bakugou chained up with a muzzle on. Tears start to pour from Kirishima’s eyes both from relief and horror from seeing his own boyfriend so lifeless. He walks tentatively closer to his boyfriend who seems to not even notice he’s here. Kirishima cups the muzzle and makes Bakugou look at him. Bakugou’s eyes widen and he starts to stir.
“Yeah, I’m here Katsuki, I’m really here,” Kirishima reassures softly with a smile. He soothes his boyfriend before removing the muzzle. Kirishima then hardened his skin and broke the rest of the restraints. Once free, Bakugou lunges for Kirishima and breaks down completely. “Don’t worry, you’re safe,” Kirishima repeats these words, squeezing his boyfriend tight. Relieved that he finally has his Katsuki in his arms again.
