Chapter Text
I remember the feeling nervous that day. It was a rare feeling for someone like me, having seen and been through so much- much more than anyone else could say. I also felt excited and I also felt pride, but for once in my life the pride wasn't for someone else. It was for me, I was proud of myself and excited for my own future. I would be the first of my family, I would make it out and I would take Karen with me, we would finally be free. I could finally have a chance at trying for myself. I thought and I hoped and I dreamt.
It was ridiculous and bright.
It was my first lesson.
