Chapter Text
Being a single parent was never easy for you, especially since you felt you were still so new to the single parent life. It had only been two years since your ex had left you and your child with nothing but the clothes on your back, and ever since you had always felt some sort of contempt towards your ex. But even after all that happened, as you tucked your little Tanjiro into bed, you couldn’t help but think that it was all meant to be like this, just Tanjiro and you versus the word. And you were okay with that.
Gently shutting his door as you left his bedroom, you quickly and quietly let your self out of the front door, gently closing that too as to not wake your son and have him catch you on your act that he so hates. Pulling out your carton from your back, you swiftly pulled out a cigarette, lighting the end and taking a long drag from it. You hated the habit just as much as your seven year old, but ever since starting your last year of high school you haven’t stopped. Cringing at the thought that your ex had started you on this addiction, you hated the fact that she still had some form of control over your life that she’s most likely unaware of.
Looking down at the dead street in front of your apartment, nothing really caught your attention other than a few passing cars here and there. Quickly finishing your cigarette, you rubbed the sleep from your eyes as you gave one last look onto the dead street. It was so quiet and lonely, making you realize it reflected how you were living at the moment. Just a quiet, lonely single dad with no one else other than your son, but even then it got lonely when he would stay at a friends house.
Running off of no sleep and an empty stomach, you pulled out your phone and quickly downloaded a dating app. It’s not like you had anything to lose, and you would probably delete it in the morning. Scanning over the questions that flashed over your screen as you set up your profile. Making sure to put single-dad in your profile and a few pictures of you, you put in a few facts about yourself and making sure to put in ‘bisexual’ as your gender preference, you were finally done setting up your profile. Pressing the ‘Done’ button, you shut off your phone and made your way back inside to go sleep on your pull out couch. Hey, you were a single dad and your job didn’t make the best money, okay? And you wanted Tanjiro to have the best he could, so you made sure he got the only bedroom in the house.
Drifting to sleep, you were sure that you would delete the app the next morning after sleeping on it.

“Screw off!” Bakugou flipped off the man as he walked the opposite direction. As he turned around, he heard the man scoff and let out a,”You’re such a douche! Who could ever handle you?” Bakugou stormed off, mad that his date was quick to turn sour after he found out just how immature the guy was. And not only that, he was still in high school! Bakugou was not about to lose his job as a Pro Hero because of some kid in high school that lied about his age. Huffing, Bakugou pulled out his phone, quick to block the kids number, and also to text Kirishima that he was going to drop in on him for dinner after storming out before he got the chance to get his. Jerking his phone back into his pocket, he angrily rubbed his fingers through his spiky hair before settling his hands into his pockets. The fact that he got all dressed up for this sorry excuse for a date pissed him off more than he already was.
Being twenty five and in the Pro Hero business, Bakugou had a rough time dating, especially when it came down to people just wanting him for fame, and the already small crowd of people to choose from since he was a gay man living in Japan. He had just got back into the dating scene after he saw how happy his friends are with their partners, especially Deku and Ururaka, who were already expecting their first child. How the hell Deku managed to beat him to marriage and a kid he’d never understand.
Storming up to Kirishima’s front steps, Bakugou let himself in after seeing only Kirishima’s car in the drive way. Hitting the walls twice with his knuckles to alert Kirishima he was there, he pulled his shoes off and slumped his way onto Kirishima’s couch, groaning as he settled in. Closing his eyes, he leaned his head on the back of the couch as he tried to clear his upcoming headache.
“Date that bad?”
Opening one eye, he saw Kirishima standing behind the couch, holding out a cup. Nodding as a silent answer, Bakugou took the cup without hesitation and took a sip; wine. He settled back into the couch as Kirishima took the spot beside him, reaching for the remote as he asked,”What happened this time?” Bakugou groaned slightly as he answered,”High schooler lied about his age. He was also immature as hell.” Kirishima chuckled at that,”The immaturity is the problem, not the age?” Bakugou furrowed his eyebrows,”Shut up, if I hadn’t had commented on his immaturity he wouldn’t had said his age.” Kirishima hummed at that, settling on some romcom on tv.
Kirishima let that play as background noise before turning his attention to Bakugou,”Why don’t you try dating apps?” Bakugou raised a brow,”And get catfished? Oh how amazing does that sound.” Swirling the wine in his cup, Bakugou rested his head on his free arm as Kirishima said,”Well, I mean that’s how Denki found his girlfriend. Why don’t you try a gay dating app?” Shaking his head, Bakugou sighed,”I don’t trust it.” Kirishima whined at this,”Just try it! I promise it’ll work out, and if it doesn’t I’ll buy you dinner for the next month!”
Groaning, Bakugou closed his eyes again,”I’m not interested in trying to date anymore of the immature kids that I keep finding.” “Put it in your profile!” “I don’t want just a one night stand.” “Put it on your profile.” “You’re not gonna stop until I do it, are you?” Bakugou groaned again as Kirishima nodded his head. Taking a another swig, Bakugou sighed, pinching his nose. After a moment of contemplating, he nodded his head and he heard Kirishima give a joyous,”Yes!”
Relaxing back into the couch, he pulled out his phone and gave it to Kirishima,”Make me an account on whatever.” Kirishima nodded, and at that Bakugou put his empty cup down on the table and he laid his head on his hand, falling asleep quickly. Kirishima quickly found a website that didn’t look sketchy, pressing ‘Sign Up’ and typing in Bakugou’s information. Typing in a few facts about Bakugou that he knew, he made sure to put ‘Looking for something serious’ in his bio. Putting his preferences as ‘gay’, he uploaded some pictures of Bakugou. It was surprisingly hard, as there wasn’t many selfies in his camera roll, mainly just screenshots of paparazzi and professional photo shoots. He knew putting those on his account made it look fake, but he just shrugged it off and would let Bakugou deal with that later. Pressing ‘done’ Kirishima nodded to himself and put Bakugou’s phone on the table, and quickly got sucked in to the cheesy romcom that was on the Tv.
~~~~~~
Scrolling through the dating app, you were surprised at how many people actually texted you. You were almost overwhelmed, surprised at how many people still texted you despite ‘single dad’ in the bio. Some of the men that texted you were gay, and were quick to degrade you after finding out you were bisexual, and so you stopped chatting with them quickly. With the women, most were older than you and were more fascinated with your son than you. You were quick to stop chatting with them too, as you wanted someone who didn’t only want you for your child and actually liked you both.
Sighing, you were about to just shut your phone off before you saw another like on your profile. Tapping it, you were disappointed to see what looked like a catfish profile, with the number three Pro Hero Bakugou Katsuki as the account. It only held professional pictures of him, and you doubted that the Bakugou Katsuki was gay and looking for a relationship. Sighing, you liked his profile anyway before just turning off your phone, already tired with dealing with the dating app all day.
Tanjiro came up to you with two ice-cream cones, smiling as he gave you one. Raising a brow, you smiled and thanked him, quickly forgetting about the app.
~~~~~
Bakugou had his brows furrowed as Kirishima looked over his shoulder, judging every person that came across the screen. He stayed quiet while Kirishima would say things like,”He’s cute.” or,”Like his page!” Bakugou just ignored him, quickly losing hope on the app. His interests would peak at a few people his eyes crossed, but for the most parts they were looking for secret hookups. As he kept swiping, his finger suddenly stopped as he scanned the new profile. It was a man that looked around his age, and he looked pretty handsome. He had a few pictures, mainly selfies, and as Bakugou scrolled through his profile he heard Kirishima muttered,”Woah, a dilf.” Bakugou immediately knew why he said that: ‘Single Dad’ was typed in his bio.
Scrolling over one more picture, he saw what seemed to be the mans son: a little kid with the same hair as the man, but with black eyes instead of (E/C). After a quick debate in his head, he liked the profile and proceeded to scroll. Kirishima raised a brow,”I knew you wanted someone mature, but a dad Bakugou? Really?” Bakugou shrugged at him, not giving an explanation. After scrolling though a few more, he decided to be done for the day. Before he put his phone down, he got a notification sound, and when he looked he saw that the guy had liked his page back.
Glancing back at Kirishima to see if hw saw, he knew right away as Kirishima gave him a grin with both his eyebrows raised. Feeling his ears burn red, he muttered,”Fuck off,” Kirishima smiled bigger as he replied cheekly,”You can’t speak like that with a kid around!” “I said fuck off!”
