As with all my works, there will be angst. I just can’t help myself...

Work Text:

“What do you mean you’re  unsure of how to do it? You’ve had sex before. What’s so different about this time?” Taehyung draped himself over the back of the couch as Jungkook peered down at his phone, furiously texting back and forth about plans with you tonight. He wanted to take you stargazing. Something you had expressed a desire to do, and he was just now remembering.

“She’s the one...you know? The one I think might actually stay this time. She’s been very understanding about our schedules as idols.” Jungkook blew straggling sweaty hair out of his face. Still having not showered after a session at the company gym. Taehyung clapped the back of his neck, wiping the sweat in the back of his shirt after realizing how gross he was, facing contorted in a disgusted sneer. Although...secretly he loved seeing Jungkook all worked up and sweaty.

“I still don’t see what you need my help for...what is it you are even asking for?” He flopped down next to Jungkook, wrapping an arm around his shoulder as Jungkook sat there pondering what it was he was looking for. It was hard to talk about these sorts of things. Always afraid one of his hyungs would judge him for being inexperienced or something. If only he knew, it was quite the opposite, especially in the case of Taehyung. A stroke of genius crossed Jungkook’s mind as Taehyung watched on.

“Why don’t you...be in the room with us? You could teach me…” He turned a rather serious face back to Taehyung, whose mouth had hung open at the suggestion.

For very obvious reasons, Taehyung thought over and over again that this was a bad idea. But Jungkook was so persistent. Practically begging for his help. It was hard to not want to give Jungkook what he wanted when he approached Taehyung one day while he had been engrossed in his phone, sitting on the couch in their dorm. Sitting down on the floor between his knees, looking up at him with those puppy dog eyes. Taehyung clenched his fists against his thigh, swallowing back saliva that had pooled in his mouth.

“You don’t have to beg like that. It can’t be that serious…” His voice came out a little tougher than he would have liked.

“You won’t listen to me otherwise! What else am I to do?” Jungkook whined, a hand resting on Taehyung’s left knee.

~ Don’t...move any closer…~ Taehyung prayed inside his head.

“Fine...I h-help. Now go, run along. Let me know when this is all supposed to happen...later.” Taehyung took a deep breath in through his nose, willing his cock to stay still and not betray him while Jungkook was still too close for comfort.

“Are you okay…? If you really don’t want to help...I can ask Jimin or Namjoon Hyung…” Jungkook started listing off the others who could help him. But Taehyung leaned forward pressing a finger to Jungkook’s lips.

“I said I would help, didn’t I? I’m gonna go shower.” Taehyung stood, detaching himself from the situation. He absolutely had to think about this objectively. Jungkook just needed a confidence boost. He must be really head over heels for the woman. An odd feeling washed over him as he turned the water on, cold. Definitely a cold shower, to wake himself up and to shake him out of the images running through his mind at this very moment. Taehyung hated cold water, but if it meant jarring him from his lewd thoughts, he would suffer through it.

~How long has he actually been with her? How come none of us have been formally introduced?~ He scrubbed his skin with a loofa, almost raw. It was aggravating and he couldn’t understand why. Was it just his protectiveness of the youngest member of their group? Or something more that he wasn’t willing to divulge on. He hung his head low, watching the water rinse the soap from his body, muscles flexing under the cold.

~Maybe I should talk to Jimin about it...He would probably be better at helping Jungkook’s situation…~ Taehyung thought as he shut the water off. Rubbing a fluffy yellow towel on his face before standing in front of the mirror to brush his teeth and comb through his wet hair.

~Jimin...would know what to do, right?~ He was starting to second guess himself, and the things that he knew about Jungkook.

He went back to his room to put on some clothes, planning to go out with Jimin to get some snacks and walk around the park close by. It would be easiest to ask his advice without the prying ears of the other members. He wouldn’t even be able to being to explain what was going on in his head if there were an onslaught of questions from all of the members. He threw on a sweatshirt and a mask and headed down to the lobby of their building where Jimin had been waiting for him.

“Nice to see you finally out of the dorms for a change. You spend way too much time on your phone or playing games Taehyungie…” Jimin teased, smacking his arm lightly as they walked out the main doors and down the street. Taehyung remained silent at the comment, brooding over where to even begin this conversation.

“So are you going to tell me what you needed to talk about, or are you going to keep giving me the silent treatment?” Jimin said as they entered a small, out of the way convenience store to pick out their snacks.

“Can it wait until we get to the park? There are people around.” Taehyung motioned with his eyes a few people that had been staring since they walked in.

“Sure…” Jimin whispered before picking up some honey butter chips and a bottle of water. Taehyung picked the same. Laughing to himself; him and Jimin were like two peas and a pod. Soul mates really. The best of friends who knew the ins and outs of each other. Their bond was special and Taehyung wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Once the snacks had been paid for, Jimin dragged Taehyung across the street to the park where they found a bench to sit down and talk. Taehyung looked up to the sky, watching a flock of birds fly by. It really was the perfect day to be outside, not too hot, not too cold. Families passed by, little children skipping and hopping over stones on the path. It warmed Taehyung’s heart to see them so blissfully unaware of how adult life can be.

~Don’t grow up too fast…~ He smiled sadly as a little girl waved before running off to catch up with her mother.

“Tae, seriously. You need to start talking. Or I’m going to think this was an excuse for me to buy you some snacks…” Jimin poked Taehyung’s cheek to get his attention.

“Sorry...I’m just a little distracted today.” He said.

“Distracted by what will hopefully lead me to the very reason we are out here today.” Jimin mused.

~Such a smartass…~ Taehyung rolled his eyes. Sometimes he wanted to shake Jimin for his lack of tact when it came to his feelings. They know each other so well, they sometimes forget to look for the clues that signal when each other was upset about something. He took a deep breath and exhaled loudly, forcing out any frustration that lingered as tension in his body.

“It’s about Jungkook.” Taehyung started. Jimin’s eyes lit up immediately.

“Are you finally going to tell him how you feel?!” He practically shouted before his eyes darted around to see if anyone was listening.

“I can’t do that now…” Taehyung’s smile faltered.

“Why the hell not? What’s the hold up?” Jimin leaned back into the bench, an arm handing behind Taehyung’s back.

“He has a girlfriend. You know this. I refuse to interfere with their relationship just because I’ve been pining for him since debut.” He scoffed.

“I’m still not understanding. It’s not that serious, is it? I mean they’re just casually dating right?” Jimin rubbed a caring hand on Taehyung’s back.

“I think it is...He wants to have sex with her. Saying something about how she is so accepting of our schedule and that she might be the one.” Taehyung buried his face in his hands, sucking in another breath as shivers ran down his spine.

“Okay...but that’s what he said about his last boyfriend. I can’t imagine this would be any different with her.” Jimin reasoned.

“Jiminie...He asked me to teach him how to please her. He wants me in the room with them.” Taehyung shuddered again. Jimin ran his fingers up through the back of Taehyung’s hair, massaging the nape of his neck as he listened.

“I don’t know if I can go through with it. Even though I already told him that I would. I feel so conflicted about it. I feel like...my personal feelings would get in the way. All I want is for him to be happy. I just don’t think this is a good idea.” Taehyung continued, lip trembling as he looked back at Jimin. Jimin’s eyes hold nothing but concern and understanding for his best friend.

“I guess, I can see how things would get complicated. Taehyung, if you don’t talk to him about your concerns, you’ll only make it worse. You know this more than I.” Jimin offered a sympathetic smile. What sucks is that Taehyung knew that Jimin was right. He was going to have to pull Jungkook aside and tell him that he can’t go through with this and to trust his own judgement when it comes to his girlfriend. If Jungkook asks why, he would just tell him that it’s inappropriate to have another man infringing upon a budding relationship. A half truth. Because he wasn’t ready to tell the whole truth.

“You’re right...I’ll just tell him no. He’s going to have to learn how to do this on his own.” Taehyung held his fist up in affirmation. His resolve hardened. He would continue to bury his long time feelings for the sake of keeping the peace within the group. Which is why it was always so nice to have Jimin around.

“Should we get back? We have a group meeting this morning about the upcoming schedule. Don’t want to make Yoongi mad for not being on time.” Jimin suggested, pulling Taehyung up from the bench and clasping his arm through Taehyung’s.

“I guess.” He responded, allowing Jimin to lead him back to the dorm while his mind wandered back to the clouds up above.

“Do you know what’s wrong with Taehyung lately? He’s been avoiding me since this morning…” Jungkook sidled up to Jimin as they walked down to the garage to load up and head to BigHit’s building.

“I’m sure it’s nothing. He had a stomach ache this morning.” Jimin didn’t like being caught in the middle of issues between the members. He always wanted things to be solved quickly so that harmony could be restored.

“I don’t know...it just seems kind of sudden, and weird.” Jungkook mumbled. Sinking into the back seat in between Yoongi and Hoseok. Jimin sat next to Taehyung who’s eyes were focused outside. Jin and Namjoon took up the front seat. Jungkook leaned his head on Hoseok’s shoulder resting his eyes while everyone else engaged in conversation.

“He’s worried you know. He feels like you’re acting weird.” Jimin hurriedly whispered next to Taehyung’s ear.

“What am I supposed to say?” Taehyung’s voice raised slightly.

“Just be honest! Get it over with and move on.” Jimin’s voice, a bit louder this time. Jungkook couldn’t help but overhear while he kept his eyes shut.

“I don’t want to hurt his feelings Jiminie.” Taehyung sighed, thumping a hand on the seat beneath him.

~Are they talking about me? Is it about what I asked him to do?~ Jungkook’s brows furrowed. A heavy weight settling in his stomach as bile rose to his throat. He must have made Taehyung uncomfortable asking in to help him please his girlfriend. That was far from what he wanted, sort of wishing he never said anything…

Jungkook rolled himself onto Yoongi’s shoulder, snuggling close as he willed himself to nap and drown out all of the conversations. Yoongi pet his hair, which aided in that venture. Before he knew it, Hoseok and Yoongi were tickling him awake. Eyes fluttering open to see everyone else had just stepped out of the van.

“Let’s go sleepyhead. Big meeting ahead of us.” Hoseok’s sing-song voice chimes in his left ear.

“Do I have to?” He mumbled in Yoongi’s shirt.

“Come Jungkookie, get up.” Yoongi pushed Jungkook up into a sitting position. It took only a moment more for him to get his bearings before he slipped out of the car and followed behind Namjoon into the building. They all piled into a conference room, Jungkook choosing to stay between Namjoon and Jin, across from Taehyung and Jimin as Sejin and the rest of the staff commenced a meeting that would last at least 3 hours. Jungkook did everything in his power not to look across the table. To not make his Hyung more uncomfortable...his phone vibrating in his pocket. When the staff give them a 10 minute break for something to eat or drink, Jungkook takes it out and reads over the message.

“I-I’ll be right back…” Jungkook whispers to Jin before darting out of the room and down the hall to the closest bathroom he could find. He quickly dialed the number, pressing the phone tightly to his ear. Listening a whole 30 seconds to the dial tone.

“Now is not a good time to talk Jungkookie.” She whispered on the other end of the receiver.

“Just tell me why? Why are you doing this?” Jungkook shrieked, pressing his forehead against a stall wall.

“I’ve been doing a lot of thinking. About the future, you know? And...I just can’t picture you in it…” she murmured, a heavy sigh followed.

“So suddenly…?” A whimper escaped his lips, fist coming up to his mouth so he had something to bite on.

“It’s not you, really. It’s me. The priorities I have set for my life. I wish you the best Jungkookie. I’m sure you’ll find someone one day that will completely take your breath away.” The final sentence hummed in his mind like a fog horn as the line went dead. His mind frozen, trying to replay everything that’s happened over the past 6 months. Drawing a blank with this sudden change.

Jungkook’s body moved on autopilot as he wiped tears from his cheeks. Washing hands in the sink without looking at his reflection. Straightening himself up, plastering that bunny smile everyone knows, on his face to hide it all. There was nothing to talk about. He slipped back into the conference room just as the meeting was about to start up again, patting Jin’s shoulder to let him know he was back. Jin looked him over, an eyebrow raised in question, but Jungkook shook his head. Now was not the time.

The meeting dragged on without a hitch, Jungkook spaced out for most of it. Namjoon had input to provide on certain things, as well as Yoongi. But the others remained quiet for most of it. Jimin watches Jungkook’s smile falter every now and then. Something must have happened. Jimin just couldn’t quite figure out what. Jin gripped Jungkook’s arm and ushered him to follow as the meeting concluded. Leading him back to the van as quickly as possible.

“Why don’t you sit up front with me this time? I’ll have Namjoon sit with Yoongi and Hoseok, yeah?” Jin asked as he opened the passenger door for him to get in. Jungkook simply nodded and climbed in, buckling himself as Jin closed the door.

“What’s going on Hyung?” Namjoon asked as he opened the side doors for everyone else to climb in.

“He seemed a little off when he came back to the bathroom, didn’t he?” Jin mused before hopping into the driver’s seat. Namjoon was only slightly clueless to what Jin could have been hinting at. The only thing he did notice however, was that the maknae line weren’t sitting together like they usually did during meetings…

It was unusually quiet in the dorms. Everyone sort of minding their own business as Jin had Jungkook help him cook up some dinner. Jungkook cutting up and steaming veggies while Jin worked through the beef.

“So are you going to tell me what’s wrong? Or are you going to make me drag it out of you?” Jin asked.

“It doesn’t really matter. It’s not a big deal.” Jungkook huffs, wanting to be anywhere other than here.

“You either talk about it with me, alone, or we have a group meeting to discuss our feelings. I know how much you love those when you are put in the spot…” Jin warned. Jungkook grumbled and put down the knife, turning his whole body towards Jin and leaned against the counter.

“She broke up with me, okay? I’m not really in the mood to discuss it further. I just want to let it go.” He glared. Jin’s teasing smile dropped.

“I didn’t realize you two were having any problems…” Jin observed, flipping more beef over in the pan. Jungkook tossed the vegetables in his own pan and placed a lid over it.

“I didn’t realize either…” Jungkook mumbled, engrossed in making sure the vegetables didn’t burn.

Beyond the wall of the kitchen, Taehyung and Jimin had been listening in. Curious too, as to why Jungkook had a sudden change in mood during the meeting. Taehyung’s heart dropped when he heard what had happened. He felt bad. Even more so, he didn’t know what to say, as they still hadn’t talked about what Jungkook wanted this morning.

“I told you these things wouldn’t last Tae. Just like his last boyfriend. Now is your chance to tell him.” Jimin whispered, nudging his ribs.

“Now is an even worse time to do so. Think about his feelings Jiminie. He’s hurting.” Taehyung argued.

“Worse time to do what?” Taehyung and Jimin felt someone come up behind them and pinch their ears to pull them away from the kitchen. Yoongi had been watching them all of two minutes before he decided to intervene.

“It’s rude to eavesdrop on someone else’s conversation that wasn’t meant for your ears.” He scolded once he brought them both into the living room and had them sit down on the couch looking like kicked puppies.

“We were just worried about Jungkook. He was...different during the last half of the meeting.” Jimin defended.

“We are all worried about it. Jin was taking care of it. I’m sure if Jungkook wanted you to know, he would have told you.” Yoongi’s raised eyebrow insinuated the distaste he had for the situation.

“I would agree with Yoongi hyung, it’s not your place.” Namjoon added from the corner of the room. He had been reading a book when Jin and Jungkook started talking in the kitchen.

“He will come to you when he is ready.” Yoongi said with finality, sitting down on the opposite couch and leaning back, closing his eyes. Jimin and Taehyung looking at each other, unspoken communication; the highlight of this soulmate friendship.

Dinner went on without a hitch, everyone talking animatedly about the next album and what sort of concepts they’d like to see. Where they could potentially go on tour. When all was said and done, dishes were cleaned, everything back in its rightful place, everyone retreated to their own spaces. Yoongi, working on a project in his room. Namjoon, back to his corner in the living room to read. Jin decided to take the house list and go shopping.

Jungkook slipped away, almost unnoticed. When he got to his bedroom, he collapsed on his bed, face down in a pillow while he let out a frustrated cry. He had been ruminating for hours about how unfair things were. How he still didn’t understand what happened. His fingers twisted the covers beneath him as he let out a shaky breath after turning away from the pillow. Taehyung was crouching to the side of the bed, head cocked when Jungkook opened his eyes, nearly jumping out of his skin.

“W-What are you doing in here? Did you knock?” Jungkook stuttered, no conviction in his voice whatsoever.

“I did. Clearly you didn’t hear me.” Taehyung answered, brushing some hair out of Jungkook’s face. Admiring the soft cheeks with a pink tint to them.

“Did you n-need something?” Jungkook asked.

“I figured...now would be the best time to talk more about this morning.” He responded, hand dropping to his thigh before he stood up and climbed on the bed. Wrapping Jungkook up in a big hug. Jungkook was stiff for a few minutes before ultimately melting in his embrace. Intertwining their legs together like they always do.

“You don’t have to help me with y/n. She broke up with me earlier.” Jungkook spoke, voice thick with regret.

“Ah...so that’s why you seemed a bit off.” Taehyung hummed against the top of his head, breathing in the refreshing scent of vanilla and sandalwood.

“It’s no big d-deal. We are going to be busy soon anyway.” Jungkook tried to sound confident, tried to appear brave in front of his favorite hyung, but it just wasn’t working. Soon the tears spilled and he couldn’t help the shake that racked his body. Taehyung pulled him closer, held him tighter, peppering kisses on his cheeks to rid them of the tears.

“It’s okay to be upset, Jungkookie. It’s okay to be hurt. No one is invincible from that.” Taehyung assured, pulling back to see Jungkook’s sad, flushed face.

“I don’t get what I’m doing wrong...I just want to be loved…” He whispered, a hiccup tumbling out of his mouth.

“There are people all around you that love you…” Taehyung’s eyes bore into his.

“Platonically...sure. But I need more than that.” Jungkook shifted, trying to pull away, but Taehyung’s grip only tightened.

~It’s now or never I guess.~ Taehyung leaned down close to Jungkook’s right ear.

“Let me...show you how much I’ve loved you all along.”

It was a whirlwind blur of clothing tossed left and right. Lips connecting, no end in sight. Soft whimpers that nearly made up for lost time. Budding arousal beginning to climb.

Smooth skin displayed as if it were a feast. Unleashing a well hidden, caged beast. Bodies connecting, mind captured. Unrelenting, a steady rhythm; can’t escape, twisted fate, all encompassing, all enraptured.

“You have to have known at some point, Jungkookie. How long I’ve loved you. How long I’ve watched you, slip away with each new romance. Wondering...if it will ever be me.” Taehyung breathed against his lips, cock sliding through his hole slowly, painfully slow. Jungkook clung tightly, fingernails digging into his back as he met him thrust for thrust. Mouth agape as waves of pleasure licked at his spine.

“I h-had some suspicions…” Jungkook moaned, head thrown back against the bed. Taehyung lifted him up into his lap, mouthing at his collar bone as fingers rubbed circles into his naked back. Right hand sweeping up to hold the back of his neck as he bit into the jugular of Jungkook’s throat. They rocked there for a while, bodies plastered in sweat, clinging to one another like a second skin.

“Be mine Kook-ah. Stop searching.” Taehyung grunted against his throat, a low moan bubbling up his chest as Jungkook clenched down on his words, movements halting as he stared down at Taehyung.

“It’s not that simple…” His lips met Taehyung’s, tongue diving in, caressing the roof of his mouth. Saliva pooling from the corners as he sucked on his tongue. Taehyung pulled back for air. Gripping tightly to his waist and thrusting up into him harshly.

“It’s not that hard…” He countered. Jungkook was skeptical. He’d been hurt one too many times. The only difference here being that it felt right. Felt so fucking right that it almost hurt. His head fell against Taehyung’s shoulder as he came across their stomachs. A guttural moan enveloping the space. Taehyung followed not long after, falling back on the bed with Jungkook on his chest. Jungkook propped himself up only for a moment. Enough to get a few words out before collapsing once more.

“I’ll try...I trust you…”
