“Obi-Wan?”, Mace asked, “are you feeling okay?”
Obi-Wan was frowning very slightly - which, for anyone who knew him well enough, usually preceded a ‘bad feeling’.
“I’m fine Mace,” Obi-Wan said, “I… just have a bad feeling”
Commander Cody, who had looked up the second that Obi-Wan had said ‘I’m fine’, shot to his feet and spoke into his communicator
“Lieutenant Waxer, raise the shields to 100%, prime the turrets, we’ve got a Level 5 emergency.” Commander Cody said crisply “I’ll be heading to the bridge in a second.”
“Sir, Yes Sir!” Lieutenant Waxer responded, before hesitating. “If I may ask sir, what prompted this?” he said, sounding just as confused as the Council members.
“General Kenobi,” Commander Cody said, his voice getting dark “Had a bad feeling. ”
Lieutenant Waxer’s voice suddenly got weaker, “Ah, yes,” he said faintly, “a bad feeling…”
Mace could hear him barking orders on the other side of Cody’s communicator.
“If you’ll excuse us generals, we have to go, there’s either going to be a pirate attack, ventress showing up or something dreadful in the next hour.” Commander Cody said and then ended the call.
The remaining councillors looked to the empty spot where Obi-Wan’s hologram was sitting a moment ago.
“Well, continuing on” Mace said, “Grievous was recently reported to be in Sector…”
“Commander Cody, I think I have a bad feeling about this”, Obi-Wan said.
“Everyone, check the radar for any pirate ships, we don’t want a do-over of Scarif!”
Everyone scrambled to their stations.
3 minutes later, they were blown out of hyperspace
“I have a bad…” Obi-Wan said trailing off as the second the words ‘i have’ left his mouth, everyone on the bridge turned to him in despair.
He was standing behind the Navigation chair.
The vod at the nav stations turned and looked at their screen, and ran a few systems checks.
It turned out, someone had sabotaged the maps, they were actually heading far too close to a nebula.
Phew, all the clones thought, even if commander Cody isn’t here, we can still rely on the Generals bad feelings!
“Thank you for coming here today,” Commander Cody said gravely, “It appears that we have a problem.”
All the clones in the hanger shuffled nervously.
“Someone,” Commander Cody said darkly, “Gave Wooley a Cookie .”
All the clones gasped. That was a serious problem!
“So!” Commander Cody continued, “We’re going to have you all line up, and the Kenobi Bad Feelings TM will sort you out.”
All the vod’e sighed in relief. Kenobi Bad Feelings TM , would be quick and painless.
General Kenobi looked mildly disgruntled by this but went through the vod anyways.
He stopped in front of Picks.
“Anything you want to tell me, Picks?” General Kenobi said mildly, with a stare that you simply couldn’t disappoint.
Picks fidgeted.
He was trying to keep his mouth shut.
(it wouldn’t work)
“I’mthespyi’msosorrygeneralpleaseforgivemeionlygavewolleyonecookiei’msosorry!” Picks said bursting into tears.
General Kenobi sighed.
“No, no, it’s alright Picks, it’s fine, it was only one cookie anyways…”
Eventually, this happened so many times that if General Kenobi said, “I have a bad feeling”, everyone went on high alert.
It had foiled many surprise seppie attacks.
It was a certified tool.
Even the other high generals used it. When they were assigning jedi to troops, they would ask if he had a ‘bad feeling’ about the assignment. If he did, they would pair a different Jedi with them.
Oddly enough, Master Krell always had a bad feeling floating around him. They decided to keep an eye on him.
(they realized that Master Krell had fallen and locked him up before Umbra could happen)
One day, Mace was tired. It was late in the war, and his mind kept circling back to what Dooku had said at the beginning of the war.
“ What if I told you that the republic was now under the control of the dark lord of the Sith?”
It was, Mace admitted, not entirely impossible.
There was far too many coincidences , the Separatists knowing where they were, mistakes in intelligence, etc, etc.
‘Hmmm…’, Mace’s utterly sleep-deprived mind said, ‘we should test the Kenobi Bad Feelings TM on everyone in the Senate!’
Now, please keep in mind that Mace was sleep deprived, and that is the only reason that he had suggested this to the council the next day.
Surprisingly, (or not), everyone agreed, and Mace took out a list of names and started reading them off.
“Tell us when you feel particularly bad,” Kit added before sitting back and closing his eyes, looking serene. (but probably sleeping)
“Organa, Amidala, Riyo Chuchi, Ask Ask, Aang, Yeb Yeb Adem’thorn, Nee Alavar, Alauni, Frid, Fith, Kare Fontin, Evran, Tobas Grell, Simon Greyshade…” Mace droned
Nothing, Nothing, nothing.
“Gryyzak, Wain Andrell, Bliz Annon, Lux bonteri, Chom Frey Kaa, Kalen, Kharrus, Vidar Kin…”
Nothing, Nothing, Still Nothing.
“Tyreca Bremack, Ronet Coorr, Yai Kared, Nohl Juasn, Mon Mothma, Mosul, Nar-Somo-Dail, Navi, Sheev Palpatine-”
“Stop!” Obi-Wan said, “That’s a terrible feeling, I think i’m going to be si-
Obi-Wan threw up.
“Ah.” Mace said. “I think we found our Sith Lord.”
