Chapter Text
Choi Han looked down at himself. His once strong arms had shriveled up and could no longer hold his sword, his strong core had been starved for so long that he could barely breathe, and his poor legs had given out millennia ago. Choi Han had refused to die. He still did, but now he had no choice to admit that whether he liked it or not. This was the end. With the last of his strength, he looked around hoping to find some source of food in this barren forest of darkness and found none. He felt his eyes close and cursed himself as he fell into a slumber that would likely never end.
Cale Henituse considered himself to be an average person with an average job. Although most people would argue that being the god of death was by no means average, Cale wasn’t someone you could consider to have the same thought process as other people. Unlike what mortals usually assumed about the god of death, Cale’s job was a busy one and he had no intention of making it worse. Cale hated death and the thought caused him to have a slight headache like the one he had now.
However, before he could do anything about it, his vision turned red and he grabbed onto the throne he was sitting in to try and steady himself.
It felt as though something was inherently wrong with the universe itself. Like a taboo had begun to break, and crossed lines about to be step over. Despite this Cale knew at once what had happened. A god was dying. It was that simple, someone who had been blessed enough to stand at the pinnacle of existence had begun to die. He took a deep breath and sadly realized he had quite the annoying job ahead of him. It wasn’t escorting the god through the after life of course, that would just mean more work. Obviously Cale had no choice but to save whoever this mysterious new god was before they really died.
