The hooligans weren’t easily persuaded when it comes down to it (Especially Angel and Mikhael) but they knew that there was something Suspicous happening between Aubrey and Basil The fact that Aubrey didn’t want to bully Basil anymore basically all but confirmed it. Aubrey had told all of them to stay away from him without reason. They of course agreed without questions, but it was kind of bugging them.
Basil had been doing better.
after Sunny told the truth Basil was basically alone again minus kel wanting to hangout with him on most days, he ended up taking sunny’s advice of Going out more and working on bettering his mental state. Jobs, becoming a bit buffer and taking care of himself to be exact, of course after he was discharged from the hospital he had to tell Polly what he did all those years ago. while Polly was shocked and sad to hear what Basil did, she knew if Basil truly meant his actions he wouldn’t have been on the brink of suicide all these years Plus it wasn’t a good idea to leave him alone right now so she also helped in bettering him she still cared for him, after all he never had a motherly figure in his life except his grandma but she’s now in a better place.
after his fight with Sunny Basil wasn’t allowed near anything sharp again not even sharp plants which kind of put a huge dent in one of his plans. Kel’s birthday was coming up soon and Basil got an invite, he didn’t want to show up empty handed so he ended up buying a cactus from Fix-it in secret without telling anyone. That meant taking care of it without anybody knowing in school and hiding it in his locker.
it came to a surprise to most of his classmates (Especially the hooligans) that Basil was actually getting better grades and doing much better in school in general, His Cs and Ds and the occasion F turned into As and Bs. He was one of the top students of his class and even got praised for it by the teachers in a morning assembly one time Though Basil looked completely dead inside he allowed himself a small smile when he was up there being congratulated.
of course Mikhael and Angel were NOT happy when Basil got congratulated.
They thought that Basil didn’t deserve to be acknowledged for anything after all he was the one that hurt Aubrey all those years ago. So one day (despite Aubreys Clear orders) they went to go confront him, Aubrey wasn’t at school, neither were Kim and Vance and Charlene was off doing whatever.
When they spotted him in the hallway they could tell he was doing something in his locker but that didn’t matter when they get closer to him though they could see that he has changed a bit. More muscular, A lil bit taller and he had a face that said “Leave me alone I’m not in the mood for your bullshit”. Mikhael and Angel after seeing him like that had second thoughts but decided to confront him anyway after all they had the numbers advantage.
What they expected was getting answers out of Basil but everytime he responded with “it’s none of your business”, After the 4th time he said it The Maverick shoved him and then the insults started it started out fairly simple before delving into his Family issues “No wonder your parents hired a caretaker” “No wonder your Grandma died she hated you”.
….
That Was the last straw for Basil.
As soon The Maverick was done with that sentence Basil Grabbed the cactus pot from his locker and smashed it on his face which attracted a giant crowd as soon as the Maverick got hit with it he went for a punch but Basil swiftly dodged it then returned 3 punches square to the face. After that Mikhael tried to punch him only for Basil to shove him face first into a locker. Angel watched in awe how Basil The flower boy who cried at literally anything ended up making Maverick look like an absolute wuss, After Mikhael was down Basil went for Angel while Angel actually hit him Basil retaliated
After that Basil ended up cramming 4 years of hatred down their throat by insulting them with the one thing they had In common: family issues.
”YOUR MOTHER IS ONE FOOT INTO HER GRAVE” He angrily said
“YOUR OLDER SIBLINGS DONT EVEN CARE ABOUT YOU!” He blindly admitted
”WHY ARE YOU TWO SUCH FUCKING IDIOTS?!” He stated out of anger
”YOU PUSHED ME TO THE BRINK OF KILLING MYSELF!” He said through his blind rage
As soon as Basil said “Killing myself” Angel started crying and Mikhael while no one can see his face was feeling shameful “YOU THINK YOU DESERVE TO CRY AFTER WHAT YOU DID TO ME?!” He didn’t mean it
it was apparent to Kel who was in the crowd that Basil was about to Seriously hurt Angel so he got to the front in a hurry and pulled him out of it, ‘he’s not even hesitating’ kel thought to himself.
while being held in Kels arms Basil could clearly see the that his once in a blue moon angry side already did the damage. Mikhael was laying on the floor wig next to him A cheek filled with cacti prickles and the other badly bruised and inflated A black eye blood from his mouth and Basil swore that one of his teeth was about to crack normally Mikhael wasn’t easily bruised so this was surprising.
Angel was badly bruised considering he wears a sleeveless shirt but he also had a black eye and was crying normally Angel had incredibly thick skin but he looked destroyed in front of him.
After Basil saw the damage he did he got out of kels grasp and ran out the school just to breakdown on the way to his house.
Basil ended up getting suspended for a week.
After that whole ordeal the school gave him an automatic suspension and Mikhael and Angel were sent to the hospital, Kel was incredibly worried for them. but he was even more worried for Basil considering he didn’t see him outside after that.
Aubrey was back to school with Kim and Vance, they were all sick and couldn’t go To school that day. They also noticed Mikhael and Angel were missing and Charlene just felt uncomfortable which was weird but Aubrey didn’t make a note of it.
What Aubrey did make a note of was how everyone kept shooting them dirty looks and talking about a fight of sort so much so that they were getting insulted by many people. “Oh look it’s the Insane psychopaths” “What you wanna get beat up by flower boy again?” “What are you gonna do? Make me kill myself?” ….. To Kim and Vance it felt like these insults weren’t meant for them. Aubrey and Charlene however we’re very uncomfortable.
the school day went on with people insulting them, pushing them around and even getting rid of their lunch table. when the school day ended they asked Charlene what happened but all she said was “...hospital” Kim and Vances brains both clicked and they instantly ran for the hospital they asked the reception if there was a Mikhael baker or Neb Nancy The receptionist said that they were sharing a room, 243.
Aubrey was scared to come back here after all last time was just too much for her to handle but she wanted to know what happened to them, when they reached the room they could clearly see Mikhael and Angel laying in hospital beds but they both looked terrible and beaten up.
Aubrey: Holy shit! What happened to you two?!
They both responded by looking away from her in guilt
Kim: Hey Charlie? You were there with them you mind explaining what happened?
Charlene:....
So she did.
It turns out Mikhael and Angel wanted some answers out of Basil considering that Aubrey wasn’t giving them any but Basil ended up beating the shit out of them so hard they had to go to the hospital apparently Basil got suspended for a week for assault and battery and saying some...very out of line stuff
Aubrey knows Basil is kind and would never do such a thing so it seemed like Angel and Mikhael were seriously hurting him with insults but this is Basil he never shows his angry side and he decided to take out on two of her best friends, Aubrey was mad at Angel and Mikhael for doing something as stupid as that. “well if you weren’t so secretive about what happened between you two we wouldn’t be here”
“ITS FUCKING PERSONAL AND NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS”
“THATS WHAT HE SAID” Angel shouted. Aubrey was pissed off at the fact that Angel and Mikhael wanted to get into her personal life and then get beat up by Basil of all people. though she was wondering about the black eyes they both had and the prickle holes on Mikhaels face.
Basil made sure that the neighborhood was nice and quiet when he did this.
Polly was disappointed in him for somehow managing to put Two people in the hospital being the sweet boy he is. she even wanted to pay their hospital bills but she knew that would probably make Basil bitter about her, instead she suggested Basil should apologize to them at the very least and that he did.
Two flowers, one that symbolizes Energy The other symbolizes those who think highly of themselves. After going over to Angels and giving their sister a tearful apology she said while laughing that she understood what happened “Everyone needs to let off steam once in a while!” She laughed. Even though she was mad about her brother, she knew were Basil was coming from She decided to have him be a model for her art piece, Basil did not mind.
He then turned to Kel and hero’s neighborhood passing by Sunnys house made him a bit sad to know he won’t be there anymore. even though they are still in contact it doesn’t feel the same. he hopes he’s doing okay. The end of the neighborhood, Mikhaels house. he was greeted by daphne and Bowen Another tearful apology and daphne and Bowen while mad understood where he was coming from and they were “going to talk to him about it”, it really made Basil happy.
Basils suspension was over.
Lots of things have changed for better of for worse.
Basil was still serving out his punishment of beating up Mikhael and Angel which was taking care of the school garden, which wasn’t a punishment in his eyes frankly. People were either congratulating him on standing up for himself or were afraid of him Kel invited him to hang out with Cris, Jay the jock and pretty boy (who he wasn’t even sure what his name was) Though the 3 were hesitant at first they eventually agreed to hang out with him albeit a bit cautious Basil couldn’t blame them for that though.
The hooligans were still getting bullied and pushed around.
People weren’t scared of them anymore like they were because of the fact they literally had pushed the nicest kid in the school to suicide. Aubrey knew what the actual reason was, but she couldn’t help but feel bad about it.
a month or 2 later and Basil finds his grandmothers grave defiled and vandalized.
He accused Aubrey of being the one to do it which then became a full blown argument to end with Basil slashing her with the school gardening shears. …. it wasn’t long after that Basil locked himself in and only came outside to get essentials and he started homeschooling.
Aubrey was furious at Basil for slashing her but she was LIVID at the fact that his grandmothers grave was defiled, everyone in that damn school knew how much she meant to him and of course he would accuse her of doing it. because she hates him which made her miserable. …… it wasn’t long after that her and Kel agreed (but with much hesitation) to tell those who were close to them about the tragedy of Mari that had happened all those years ago. Against their better judgment, their friends took it surprisingly well.
The hooligans were mad, rightfully so, but everyone else was just sad and gloomy. it then hit them that there were other reasons Basil wanted to end it all and so did sunny, the fact that they were only adding to it made Them feel guilty, especially mikhael and Angel.
it wasn’t until Kel brought up that on most days he thought of being in sunnys shoes, one single bad argument leading to the death of his older brother just like that. Aubrey also mentioned the lake incident. which broke them even more, mikhael and Angel were now sobbing on the ground.
After that whole thing they all agreed they should be there for him (as well as sunny, should he come around) though a certain hooligang had other plans on her mind.
