Everything's sort of normal now. Sure, Mari and Sunny are alone in that house now. Sure, she and Hero hate each other, Aubrey hates all of them, Basil barely leaves his house, and Kel won't even look their way. But other than that? Everything's fine. Everyone's fine. Totally, completely fine.
Oh, and Sunny can't remember anything from the year after Mom left. Or maybe he chose to forget. But that isn't anything worth worrying about, is it?
Whatever it is, they're all happy, and healthy, and perfectly fine.
It won't stay that way for long. One dinner at Kel's house is about to see to that.

Sunny wishes he could spend just a little extra time with his dream friends and somehow, it's granted. Though perhaps he should've worded his wish a little more carefully because he wakes up to his Headspace friends sitting on his bedroom floor.
He now has to keep his weird dream friends under control in the real world and his real friends are dragged along for the ride.
