i haven’t read any fic where megumi’s desire and simultaneous fear is described so beautifully and accurately. author, you have such a great grasp on megumi’s character, i can’t believe this was written in 2021! the descriptions of his emotions and the vivid imagery of the beach and bees and everything feel so like him. the characterisation of him was so, so good. it really felt like megumi
i loved the confidence of yuuji as well. he’s still a bit rougher with megumi which i thought was a bit out of character but i liked their interactions nonetheless. i’m also slightly under the impression that yuuji’s perhaps learning how to love megumi rather than already having those feelings like megumi did? but anyway, him being the initiator of so much and being the one to take care of everybody else seems really in character for him. i like that megumi could let loose and lose that burden of having to protect everyone and take care of everyone with yuuji.
i listened to a radio mix of different alternative/indie songs for this and it fit the mood so well. it captured the clinging nature of youth and the pain and beauty of it all. im struggling with dissociation recently and im completely losing grasp on what emotions truly mean and the gravity of reality. reading megumi’s inner dialogue and his experience with the hanahaki pain felt eye opening. it was so descriptive and i’m glad for it. it made me remember what « white hot » pain felt like and what it felt to have your « heart rabbit » in eagerness.
your writing is absolutely amazing. the polyamory was really enticing. it’s my first time reading something of this nature. i’m realising that polyamory is such a privilege; you have multiple partners that you love and trust? it just sounds so amazing. and i have to remind myself that this is fiction because it’s near impossible for reality to gift. yuuji and megumi are really good guys with good intentions and that itself is very, very difficult to come across in real life. i like that nothing felt fetishised in this fic and that the female character was treated with an equal amount of love and respect. im very bummed that this is fictional i wish i could conjure up some magical potion and make them come to life૮꒰◞ ˕ ◟ ྀི꒱ა i’m excited to read more of your work! <3
