Hisoillu Week 2021 Day 4: Give and Take

Notes:

Me: The purpose of week events are to promote creativity, and people should be encouraged to create and share content regardless of how long or complex or edited the finished product is.
Also Me: I cannot post a story unless it is over 6,000 words, perfectly edited, and has enough metaphors, symbolism, SAT vocab words to make a High School English teacher bust a nut.

Work Text:

Illumi Zoldyck:

Regarding your previous offer, I would be amendable

to participating. If I may, I will request the first favor.

Arrive no later than May 7th, 21:00.

What followed was an address to a prominent hotel in Yorkshin. Hisoka doubted Illumi wanted something as scandalous –or enjoyable— as a hook-up (though scheduling such a thing 72 hours in advance does sound like something he’d do) and instead readied an overnight bag more suited to a different sort of fun. He looked forward to the possibility of a bloody, destructive, head-rush of mania that he rarely ever got anymore at Heaven’s Arena.

Hisoka had given Illumi his number upon first meeting a few months ago with a wink, a grin, and a reiteration to contact him for anything. And, while his intention at the time had been for a rendezvous with less clothes and more moans, compensated homicide wasn’t a bad way to spend time together.

While whistling the melody of the original Bungee Gum jingle, Hisoka shut off his lights and headed out. He didn’t have to be there early, Illumi certainly wasn’t going to be, but he deserved a little vacation. Maybe he could even visit one of those specialty tailor shops so prominent in the city to commission a new outfit for the mission. The assassin may have been content with traipsing around in baggy jackets and jeans, but Hisoka had standards.

He’s a killer, but his true crime is hiding that delicious body underneath such terrible clothes. Maybe if he’s lucky, our association will allow my style to rub off on him, Hisoka thought during the taxi ride to the airport, and quickly lost track of the rest of the journey as he considered what else he could rub off on the assassin.

---------------

“Here are the reports you requested.” Illumi intoned as he dropped the manila envelope onto the butcher block.

“That was fast,” Hisoka said as he turned back to his French press.

“My father had dealt with them in the past on a contract to kill the 8th Spider. It’s standard procedure to gather as much information as possible on associated persons of a target in case of intervention. However that was years ago, and some of the information may be out of date.”

“That’s fine, no sense in spoiling all the fun.” Hisoka hummed as he poured himself a cup of dark roast. He took a moment to inhale the delicate aromas before chancing a sip. Still too hot, but he quietly appreciated the minor burn in the same way an exhausted muscle ached after training.

“What is your intention with the Phantom Troupe?” Illumi asked, statuesque where he stood in the kitchen.

“Why? Are you worried about me?” Hisoka teased.

Illumi canted his head ever so slightly and Hisoka marveled at the way the lights rippled over his dark hair, like the sheen across an oil spill. Hisoka had the sudden urge to get trapped in it.

“No, but I am willing to offer you a discount in the event you want them dead.”

“What, you wouldn’t consider that as a favor to me? How harsh.”

“You had proposed a give and take association, Hisoka. Not a give-give and take.” Hisoka beamed at how utterly childish Illumi’s argument had sounded with that beautifully airy voice of his. He absently wondered if the moans he’d make would be equally high.

“Then what sort of favor would you consider equal to killing a Spider?”

Illumi blinked once and tilted his head back in thought. Unlike his hair, Illumi’s black eyes absorbed the light and remained dark and hollow, a pit that swallowed anything that came too close. Hisoka had the inexplicable desire to fall into it.

“Isaac Netero’s head.” Illumi concluded.

Hisoka couldn’t stop the look of surprise from settling across his face. Uneducated slum child as he was, even he knew of the illustrious President of the Hunter Association. “Quite a high-profile equivalent. Are the Spiders that powerful?”

“Not all of them. Most would probably be a simple kill. The real danger in killing any Spider is in its head: Chrollo Lucifer.”

Hisoka felt his body tremble in excitement over the name. Illumi blinked and leaned forward slightly. “Is he why you’re asking about them?”

“It’s good to know that he is everything that everyone says about him. For a Zoldyck of all people to consider him such a threat, well,” he smiled into his coffee, “makes me so excited I can hardly wait.”

---------------

“Don’t you look delicious,” Hisoka said in lieu of greeting when he opened his door. He leaned against the doorframe, jutting out a hip, and waited for a returning compliment.

“You adhered to the dress code.” Illumi replied, instead, and Hisoka stepped back with a shrug, taking what he could get from the infallible assassin.

“You specifically requested it.” Hisoka strode into his living room to grab his phone off the coffee table.

“And you have a habit of purposefully misinterpreting my requests.” He remained in the doorway.

“Are you accusing me of being difficult?” Hisoka gasped as he splayed a hand across his chest, playing the part of an utterly affronted partner.

“Yes.” Illumi flatly replied. He glanced at his watch, something simple and refined but likely worth more than a city block. “We must be going now.”

“Lead the way,” Hisoka purred as he closed and locked the door behind him.

On the elevator ride down, Hisoka shamelessly admired his “date” for the evening. A bespoke suit that appeared black but gleamed ever so faintly red under the right light elongated Illumi’s frame from tall to elegant. It emphasized his power and highlighted his grace, turned heads without being gauche. The vest underneath was pitch black, almost as much as his eyes, and the matching black tie contrasted sharply with the white dress shirt underneath. The knot was something Hisoka didn’t recognize; layered and complicated. The sort of thing one could probably form a conversation around. He wondered whether Illumi had tied it himself or if a butler had.

He really did look delicious.

With the client paying for the timely assassination of a high-profile socialite, the next opening was at a Charity Ball the target was attending. If Illumi, a well-known assassin, were to appear alone, it'd be very obvious what he was there to do. Even if he made up some nonsense about attending on behalf of the Zoldyck Estate to make a donation, no one would buy it.

However, if the infamous Zoldyck eldest were to show up with a date, then the story was lent a little more credibility. Hisoka imagined that the honor had only befallen him because Illumi didn’t know who else to ask, but liked to pretend that it was because the assassin enjoyed his company and was looking for an excuse to spend more time in it.

Of course, there was always the risk that the mere sight of a Zoldyck in attendance, alibi or not, would raise enough suspicion to warrant a quadrupling in security. And if that did happen to occur, Hisoka could hardly think of a better way to end their “date”.

Hisoka glanced down and momentarily wondered whether wearing a white suit had been a good idea, only to remember how beautiful fresh blood looked against it. Maybe he could amuse himself by shaping a pattern from the splatter: a heart, a smiley face, a dick. That might amuse Illumi enough to give one of those rare little smiles.

When the elevator reached the lobby, Hisoka intertwined his hand with Illumi’s as they strode out and didn’t let go until Illumi stabbed his wrist with a pin.

---------------

Being a Floor Master at Heaven’s Arena and a Spider in the Phantom Troupe often didn’t case many problems, schedule-wise. It usually wasn’t make or break to attend every Troupe meeting, nor was Hisoka ever really reliable with showing up to every match at the Arena.

But every so often both institutions would force Hisoka’s hand, and he had to make a choice between them. And when that happened, Hisoka deftly chose both.

Bones cracked as they reshaped, muscles groaned as they remolded, joints popped as they resettled. Eyelids slid down to a hooded stare. Lips thinned and developed a cupid’s bow. A straight nose curved in to form a celestial nose. Ears grew hanging lobes and flattened more towards the skill.

Within a minute, Hisoka was stared at a near perfect copy of himself.

A near perfect copy that had dark, captivating eyes that Hisoka often wanted to fall into.

“I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of seeing that.” Hisoka said, utterly entranced.

“You should get going. I can only hold this for a few hours.” Illumi replied. Hisoka didn’t know whether to be disappointed by the change in Illumi’s voice or turned on to hear his own coming from a mouth that sat below Illumi’s intense gaze.

“Remember to give them a show,” Hisoka chirped as he headed or the door, “that’s why they come to see me!”

“It’s certainly not for the fighting prowess.” Illumi deadpanned, his quip coming across a little more like an actual joke with the teasing eyes and lilting voice.

Hisoka almost preferred Illumi’s typical deadpan.

“Don’t wait up!” Hisoka called out before rushing away towards the rendezvous point. On the way, he made a note to deal a particularly harsh injury to Chrollo when they eventually fought. The bastard deserved it for putting Hisoka in the position to see Illumi turn into himself and have to walk away without ravishing it.

---------------

“Hello~” Hisoka greeted warmly as he opened the door only to see the knocking wasn’t from a package delivery or an errant fan or even something as fun as an attempt on his life. Though, seeing Illumi probably ranked higher than a spontaneous fight. Maybe. Well, it would certainly be close.

Before he could inform Illumi how delighted he was by the unexpected visit, the assassin shouldered his way in and headed for the nearby bathroom. Hisoka closed the door and was halfway to the restroom before he heard Illumi being violently sick behind the unlocked door.

He entered the bathroom and shamelessly admired his associate as Illumi heaved the contents of his stomach and then some into the toilet. He was almost impressed by how Illumi still managed to come across as poised through it all.

“Don’t you look delicious.” Hisoka joked as he toed Illumi’s trembling side. “Do you need anything? Water? Tylenol? Me to end your suffering?”

“Charcoal,” Illumi rasped before another surge poured from his mouth.

“Mm, fresh out I’m afraid.” Hisoka clicked his tongue. He watched as Illumi went through another three waves of sickness. “Aren’t you supposed to be immune to poisons?”

“All known poisons,” Illumi coughed.

“Ah, so this must be a novel drug then.” Hisoka watched Illumi throw up another two times before leaving for the kitchen. He poured a glass of water and, upon second thought, grabbed a dishrag before heading back to the bathroom. Illumi was flushing the contents of the toilet as he toed open the door.

“Here,” Hisoka said as he held out the glass.

Illumi looked up at him from the toilet bowl, his big, dark eyes wet and gleaming, and Hisoka was struck viscerally by the urge to fall into them.

A trembling hand reach out for the glass, but his grip was too weak, and Hisoka had to scramble to catch it before it shattered on the floor. He knelt down beside Illumi and helped him take a drink. When Illumi managed a few mouthfuls, he turned back to the toilet for another round. Hisoka clicked his tongue once, wet the dishtowel at the sink, and placed it across the back of Illumi’s neck.

Hisoka refilled the glass in the sink whenever Illumi drained it and rubbed soothing circles over his quaking back muscles. Illumi was mostly finished after an hour, and Hisoka urged him to at least use the mouthwash before leading him to the bedroom.

While Illumi showered in the en-suite, Hisoka laid out a worn tee shirt and soft sweatpants for him to change into. He pretended not to hear Illumi throw up again before he came out and instead moved his wastebin to the side of the bed.

He settled on the other side and pretended to be asleep when Illumi came out of the bathroom. He listened to the rustle of clothes, sluggish with a few stumbles on unsteady feet, and felt the dip in the mattress when Illumi climbed in. He could hear the gentle breaths beside him, always so perfectly timed and controlled, and fell asleep himself before they could slow into that of rest.

Illumi was gone when he awoke the next morning, and Hisoka might have thought he dreamt everything if it wasn’t for the clothes folded primly at the foot of his bed with a piece of paper on top saying Thanks.

---------------

An especially slow week prompted Hisoka to reach out to Illumi with a typical request: to join him on one of the assassin’s hunts. Illumi was quick to respond, as he typically was when a direct question was involved, and Hisoka was a little less bored slicing his way through some Nen users desperately fighting to save their boss.

There was an Enhancer who threw punches hard enough for Hisoka to feel the impact in his molars, but he went down with a crisp snap of his neck.

Then there was the Conjurer who summoned an intricate chain and sickle that required he be a tad more dexterous than usual, but was torn apart by Hisoka’s cards.

Then another Enhancer, this one faster and more clever, that ultimately couldn’t keep up with the traps Hisoka laid that flung deadly projectiles once tripped.

Finally, there was a Transmuter. Hisoka suspected she acted last since her Nen, which formed a noxious cloud that had enough poison to down an elephant, had the potential to harm both enemy and ally. However, Hisoka was delighted to show the young woman how his Bungee Gum was versatile enough to form a pocket of fresh air around his head to protect him as he dismembered her.

In the crescendo of crimson that flew from her severed femoral artery, Hisoka painted a pattern across his top. He turned to Illumi, who was finishing a call to his father about the completion of the job, and showed off his artwork. Illumi gave one of those rare little smiles that delighted Hisoka to his core.

“Looks like we finished early,” Hisoka said as they walked down the street towards the hotel. A deft application of some Texture Surprise and the civilians were none the wiser of the blood splattered duo amongst them.

“Yes, I didn’t anticipate another hand when planning the operation.” Illumi replied.

“Hm, you said your flight isn’t until tomorrow morning, right?” Hisoka made a little sound, as if the idea had only just occurred to him. “Let’s get dinner then, hm?”

Illumi paused, as if he needed to think about whether he was hungry enough to eat or patient enough to spend more time with Hisoka.

Hisoka liked to think it was the former.

“Alright, you can pick.” Illumi assented as he stared walking again. Already having a place in mind, though, Hisoka intertwined his hand with Illumi’s and redirected him towards the restaurant. He smiled when a pin didn’t sink into his flesh this time.

He smiled even wider when Illumi clasped back.

---------------

“I thought I’d proposed a give and take association, Illumi. Not a give-give and take.” He had teased the other that night when Illumi had reached for the check.

“This night was a favor to you.” Illumi had stated. “That includes the meal.”

Still feeling unbalanced though, Hisoka made it a point to invite Illumi out again. This time, when the check came, Hisoka was swift to cover it. He left the venue feeling fresh and on equal footing again, only for Illumi to extend an invitation to dine again next week.

Hisoka accepted, because while he didn’t want to owe Illumi anything he also wasn’t going to turn down a chance to see him again. He knew Illumi was shrewd and was likely using these dinners as a means to place Hisoka in his debt, but some part of Hisoka liked to think it was because the assassin enjoyed his company and was looking for an excuse to spend more time in it.

Now, on their seventh dinner date, they dined on a rooftop garden. Surrounded by well-dressed and highly educated clientele, those who were already or in the process of becoming lawyers and politicians and business moguls, Hisoka was aware of how out of place he and Illumi appeared. But Hisoka liked to stick out and Illumi had never cared for the opinion of others. They sat at their little table by the edge of the roof, content with the attention of the other.

The sun was setting, and their appetizers had just arrived. Illumi nibbled on his caprese crackers and Hisoka sipped on his Old Fashioned. He watched the way the golden rays of light shone on Illumi. The shadows that settled in the valleys of his body contrasted sharply against the warm glow of his porcelain skin. Hisoka was reminded of a ripe peach, and he so desperately wanted to lean over and take a bite.

Instead, he ate a shrimp tartlet.

And as they sat, wining and dining and talking, the sun continued to set and Hisoka wondered, in the part of his mind that always thought in terms of fate and serendipity and greater meaning, whether the sun was also setting on his and Illumi’s previous association.

---------------

If the sun had set on their previous association, then Hisoka wondered that if this was the sunrise on a new relationship.

Their give and take was still in full effect, that hadn’t changed and Hisoka didn’t imagine it would ever. But this. It wasn’t like something had been replaced, rather something had been added.

Now Illumi would call him to attend a formal event and it wouldn’t end in a bloodbath.

Now Illumi would invite him for drinks after a successful mission, regardless of whether it had been completed early.

Now Illumi would make a reservation at an upscale restaurant for no other reason than to spend time with Hisoka.

Now Illumi would stay the night at Hisoka’s apartment without any explanation or excuse and still be there in the morning.

It wasn’t that Hisoka didn’t enjoy the time they spent together, quite the opposite actually. But some part of him, the part that had grown up certain that a hand offering him a meal was only a distraction from the knife going for his back, was constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop.

---------------

They were sitting on the couch after fulfilling a contract and had forgone the typical formal dinner in lieu of take-out. Hisoka was idly flipping through his streaming service, trying to decide what sort of movie he was in the mood for when he caught movement in his peripherals.

Seeing Illumi move and assuming the other was going to the kitchen for a drink, as he’d done last time, Hisoka opened his mouth to voice his desire for a vodka soda. However, the request never left his throat, as his mouth was occupied with the lips sealed over his.

For all his confidence, Hisoka had never imagined that his affections would be returned. Most of the time he’d suspected that the assassin had been merely tolerating him, sometimes he’d even wondered whether Illumi had even recognized the flirtation for what it was.

But, judging by the kiss he was receiving, Illumi was very aware.

Illumi kissed in a way that was charmingly naïve but wholly singular. Lips opened under Hisoka’s probing, and soon he was sinking his tongue in to explore this part of Illumi he’d never known. Illumi learned fast though and had quickly discovered Hisoka’s weakness to bitten lips.

Steady hands pushed his shoulders back, and Hisoka dropped the remote when a body was deposited in his lap. Illumi was surprisingly light for someone who bore so much weight on his shoulders, but Hisoka reveled in this fact as it allowed him to pick Illumi up and carry him to the bedroom without trouble.

When Hisoka threw Illumi onto the mattress, Illumi stared up at him with steady, black eyes that Hisoka wanted to fall into.

So he did.

---------------

Hisoka grinned ferally as he ducked underneath a lethal blow and had to contort uncomfortably to avoid a follow through that would have surely dislocated something. He swept in low at this new angle and let a bark of laughter when Illumi dodged it with a flip. He threw a jab at Illumi’s momentarily exposed back, and not only missed the opening due to Illumi spinning faster than he’d anticipated, but caught an elbow to the jaw as well.

When Illumi had asked that Hisoka help him with training, he’d assumed some new Nen ability, not something so guttural and dirty and intimate as hand to hand combat.

He hooked his arm around the elbow and, with a twist of his hips, threw Illumi over his shoulder. But in a move that only the spineless could accomplish, Illumi bent his legs up to wrap around Hisoka’s neck and redirect the momentum onto him. Illumi dismounted the instant Hisoka impacted the ground and resettled over his hips, to keep Hisoka from getting up.

Flat on his back, staring at death up above, Hisoka could hardly think of a better place to be. Illumi’s hair rippled like it was underwater, aloft by the intensity of his Nen, and blocked out the light overhead, casting Hisoka in darkness. In this shadow, he could see a flat mouth and wide, wide eyes that seem frenzied and consuming.

Hisoka wanted so desperately to fall into them.

A threatening hand came down to settle over his throat, indicating his forfeit of life should Hisoka try to retaliate. He surrendered with a pat of his hand on the mat and the hand loosened, but remained in place. Hisoka could feel Illumi’s palm when he breathed deeply and could feel his body buzzing with excitement, both residual from the fight and developing from the current position.

“I do love seeing you above me.” Hisoka groaned, lifting his hips to grind into Illumi’s.

Illumi stared down at him, eyes big and dark and taking everything in.

“Noted.”

---------------

Illumi’s dexterous hands knotted the rope, binding Hisoka’s hands together above his head. Any question Hisoka had ever had to Illumi’s tying skills were answered when he gave a sharp tug and the rope held firm.

“Darling,” Hisoka moaned as Illumi slid down his body. “You look positively delicious.”

“You look beautiful as well.” Illumi returned before giving Hisoka’s weeping cock a few strokes. He rolled on a condom, added some more lube, and slowly sank back onto it. Hisoka dug his heels into the mattress and threw his head back, his body seizing as the tight heat enveloped him.

He could feel a fat bead of sweat roll down his neck and the hot tongue that swiftly lapped it up. Hisoka blinked his eyes open, unaware he’d closed them, and saw Illumi looming over him. He was just about to remark on how much he loved seeing Illumi over him when the other rose up on his knees and reseated himself on Hisoka’s cock in a single motion.

Illumi set up a brutal pace, bouncing on Hisoka’s cock with the determination only befitting a Zoldyck. Even when he leaned back to catch a breath, he was rolling his hips and tightening around him.

It took some time, but Hisoka was able to parse out Illumi’s tempo and quickly established a counter rhythm. The ropes bit deliciously into his wrists as he strained against them, thrusting his entire lower body up to spear Illumi on his cock while gravity was bringing the Zoldyck down onto it.

The mattress squeaked beneath them. The headboard pounded against the wall. The lube echoed around the room. Hisoka’s throaty groans harmonized with Illumi’s breathy moans.

One of Illumi’s hands came down to stroke his cock and Hisoka fought to keep going, no matter how distracting a sight it was to see the Illumi Zoldyck spread out on his cock and stroking himself to completion.

Illumi came with something between a gasp and whine, spilling his seed across Hisoka’s bare chest. Some splattered up as high as his chin and Hisoka snaked out a tongue to lap at what he could reach while Illumi kept bouncing himself on Hisoka through his orgasm.

It was when Illumi looked down on him, his big, dark eyes wet and gleaming from his orgasm, that Hisoka came with a shout.

They both stayed where they were, gathering their breaths and finding the wherewithal to detach from each other. Illumi glanced over to the wall, maybe to read the time or maybe for a brief moment to collect his thoughts, and the shadows nestled in the valleys of his body to contrast sharply against the white of his porcelain skin.

Hisoka stared up at Illumi and knew, viscerally, that he’d never get tired of seeing this.

---------------

“Here is everything you need to apply for the Hunter Exam.” Illumi intoned as he dropped the manila envelope onto the butcher block.

“That was fast,” Hisoka said as he turned back to his French press.

“Your lack of history actually made things easier. Forging government documents is easier when building from nothing.”

“Good to know I didn’t make you work too hard.” Hisoka hummed as he poured two cups of dark roast. He added a teaspoon of sugar and dash of cream to one, leaving the other to cool a bit. After stirring the contents, Hisoka set the coffee in front of Illumi and took a sip from his own. Perfect.

“What is your intention with the Hunter Exam?” Illumi asked as he settled onto the stool. He held the cup with both hands, likely savoring the warmth of the ceramic.

“Why? Are you worried about me?” Hisoka teased.

Illumi canted his head ever so slightly and Hisoka marveled at the way the lights rippled over his dark hair, like the sheen across an oil spill. Hisoka had the sudden urge to get trapped in it and stretched an arm across the butcher block. As he carded his fingers through the silken strands, Illumi blinked, took a sip, and answered.

“If you act the way you usually do, then yes. The Hunter Association is full of talented Nen users who will react seriously if you-” Illumi stopped, likely feeling the tremors of excitement that were running through Hisoka’s body. “If you do exactly that.”

“Are you implying that there’s something wrong with my personality? How harsh.”

“You’re the one who can’t control himself when around powerful fighters, Hisoka. And the Hunter Association won’t take kindly if you go on a murderous rampage at the first sight of, what do you call it again, ripe fruit.” Hisoka beamed at how utterly childish Illumi’s argument had sounded with that beautifully airy voice of his. He gently scratched Illumi’s scalp to see if he could pull some equally breathy moans from his lover’s lips.

“Then how about you come with me? Keep me distracted so I’ll be on my best behavior.”

Illumi tilted his head into Hisoka’s ministrations, a low hum rumbling up from his throat as Hisoka reached a spot behind his ear. He closed his eyes, and Hisoka took the opportunity to lean across the butcher block and press a quick kiss over each covered eye. As expected, his eyes opened and Hisoka, now in full view, kissed his nose. He retreated to take another sip from his own coffee mug.

“Do it yourself.” Illumi concluded with a blink. “If you fail, I’ll do it with you should you try again.”

Hisoka couldn’t stop the look of surprise from settling across his face. “Is the Hunter Exam really that hard? You think I could fail it?”

“It’s difficult in its own way. Most of the tasks are simple enough. The real challenge is in performing the tasks to the exact specifications of the graders, and of course in not killing the graders, which I expect to be difficult for you.”

A surge of cloying Nen suffused the kitchen. Hisoka leaned back, pulling his hand from Illumi’s locks so his twitching arm wouldn’t accidentally rip out a handful of hair. “Are the graders that interesting?”

“I expect so. They will be Hunters after all.” Illumi replied and took a sip of his coffee.

“It’s good to know that Hunters really are what everyone says about them. For a Zoldyck of all people to acknowledge their abilities,” he smiled into his coffee, “makes me so excited I can hardly wait.”

---------------

Hisoka guided Illumi’s hands to his neck and placed the calloused pads of Illumi’s fingers to the right spot.

“I am unfamiliar with non-lethal choking.” He warned, his voice so charmingly hesitant.

“You’re a fast learner,” Hisoka replied and was utterly delighted to be proven right. With a strong grip to just the right points, Hisoka began to feel light-headed as Illumi pounded into him faster.

Illumi canted his hips, and when he sunk in again to the hilt the new angle had Hisoka writhing beneath, his body held in place only by the hand against his pelvis and the fingers around his throat.

His pants came out as wheezes, his moans as whines. Illumi kept thrusting, merciless and methodic, his long hair cascading over his broad shoulders to encase them in a dark cocoon. Dark pits stared back at Hisoka, and Hisoka could feel himself teetering by the edge.

The edges of his vision went dark and began to encroach closer and closer to the center. His chest ached from the strain, and his core burned hot and tight until-

He fell over the edge.

The ensuing burst of white almost hurt. His eyes were blinded, and his lungs felt stabbed through with the rush of air. His entire body seemed to lose control of itself, trembling and twitching while he came, long and hard, around Illumi’s cock.

Illumi followed soon after, perhaps tipped over the edge himself by the tightening of Hisoka around him, but Hisoka couldn’t be sure. He was still coming down and gathering his bearings when Illumi pulled out and stripped the condom off his soft cock.

Without much thought, Hisoka brought his hand up to his throat, idly pressing into the tender spot where Illumi’s fingers had been. Movement in his peripherals had him glancing to the side to catch Illumi staring at him.

A few errant strands of hair were stuck to his face, plastered on by a thin sheen of sweat. As he leaned down, Hisoka could make out the slightest blush that graced his alabaster skin. His own cheeks bloomed with an unexpected warmth when Illumi placed a gentle kiss to his new bruises. Then his chest grew warm when Illumi traveled up his neck, up his jaw, and finally to his mouth, where he landed a firmer kiss.

Then his groin flared hot when Illumi dug his fingers into those same bruises.

In an instant, Hisoka had rolled his hips and flipped their positions, eager to focus on starting up round two.

---------------

“It’s not that hard,” Hisoka chuckled as Illumi stared intensely at the array of choices before him. “He’s turning twelve, he’ll like pretty much anything.”

“It has to be perfect.” Illumi enunciated for the umpteenth time since beginning their journey.

“Just get him something he likes.”

“He already has what he likes.” Illumi came so very close to grousing, and Hisoka quelled the urge to push him over the edge. He doubted the store employees or clientele would very much appreciate the waves of malicious intent that Illumi radiated when upset. Not that anyone could do anything to make them leave if it did happen, of course, but this was the mall Hisoka frequented when he was incognito and so he would like to shop here again without the embarrassment of having once caused a scene.

“What does he already have?” Hisoka asked, thinking he could maybe see a pattern where Illumi didn’t.

“He still has his old toys from childhood. Those are mostly action figures and small vehicle replicas. He excelled at dartboard training, so father had one placed in his room. Recently he’s been mastering yo-yo tricks.”

Sounded like very typical preteen interests. Ordinarily Hisoka would have suggested a toy gun, as he’d seen many children enjoy them in the city parks, but he doubted Killua would take to it when already so familiar with the real thing.

“Does he still play with his action figures?” Hisoka thought maybe they could get some newer models to appease the, still young, Zoldyck.

“Not so much anymore. He just keeps them.”

Sentimental then. Made sense in a household that urged you to grow up so fast. “Does he prefer to play inside or outside?” Illumi had once mentioned that Milluki liked to play online games, perhaps Killua would be the same.

“Outside. He’s very energetic so Mother removes him from the house so he won’t break anything.”

Hisoka was about to suggest something like gloves and ball before quickly realizing the child would likely have no one to use such a thing with. So, an outside toy that could be used alone.

“How about a bike, or a skateboard?”

“Skateboard, what is that?” Illumi’s quirk of a brow was such a delightful expression that Hisoka practically skipped as he led the eldest Zoldyck down to a neighboring aisle. He gestured to the boards lining the rack with an ostentatious flourish.

“High speed and very versatile. He’ll be learning tricks for months.”

“Really.” Illumi hummed as he picked up a nearby board, bright yellow with a red arrow. He twisted the board around in his hands, examining the wheels and quality of paint. “Very well. We’ll get him this. I appreciate your help.”

“Appreciate it enough to let me finally meet the bastard?” Hisoka chirped, only for a heavy, intense cloud of murderous ire to consume the aisle.

“Just kidding~”

---------------

Hisoka leaned down and nibbled on Illumi’s collarbone before taking a proper bite. He pushed in sharply, breaking his previous rhythm of slow thrusting, and reveled in the hitched gasp Illumi released. He ground his hips in small circles as he sucked a bruise onto Illumi’s alabaster skin.

“H-Hisoka,” Illumi moaned below him.

“Mm,” Hisoka canted his answering groan into a question, determined not to release his mouth until the bruise was enough to last a week.

“I, I feel,” he broke off, sighing as Hisoka started his thrusts again. He moved on to suck on Illumi’s right nipple, which earned two hands gripping his hair like a vice.

“Hisoka,” Illumi tried again.

“Yes, darling?” Hisoka purred. He lifted one of Illumi’s legs to his shoulders and left the other splayed against the bed. The opening allowed him to sink in just a little deeper, fall just a little closer.

“Hisoka, I feel, it’s not, I’m supposed to-” Illumi sucked in a sharp breath as Hisoka grabbed onto his cock.

“You aren’t supposed to what?” Hisoka teased as he began to stroke Illumi, in time with his thrusts but at a counter rhythm. Pulling down to his tip while he sunk in and pushing down to completely envelope as he dragged out.

“I-I think I,” he gasped, breathily and beautifully. He stared up at Hisoka, his big, dark eyes wet and gleaming and Hisoka just fell into them. “I love you.”

He leaned down and sealed his lips over Illumi’s. He kissed him with abandon all while thrusting and stroking until Illumi came with a soft whimper. He stared down, watching Illumi orgasm around his cock. His black hair spread across the sheets like an oil spill while his back arched dramatically. His chest, with piqued nipples Hisoka had sucked on until red, heaving to catch his breath.  His alabaster skin mottled with bruises from their last coupling that tremored from the muscle spasms beneath.

Hisoka kept going, sinking into the tight heat of his love all while Illumi twitched and squirmed from the overstimulation. He picked up the pace a little, his head spinning with I love you until he came a few minutes later, pouring his thick seed deep into Illumi.

His face almost hurt from how hard he smiled.

Illu <3:

Arrive no later than August 13th, 19:00.

What followed was an address to a prominent hotel in Yorkshin. Based on the earlier hour for meet up, there was the chance that Illumi wanted something as scandalous –and enjoyable— as a quickie prior to the job. With a pleased grin, Hisoka readied an overnight bag suited to both sorts of fun. Extra clothes in case they got dinner afterwards, tickle toys in case Illumi felt like being adventurous, Illumi’s hair and face products in case he forgot to pack them, and something soft to sleep in after it all.

While whistling the melody of the original Bungee Gum jingle, Hisoka shut off his lights and headed out. He didn’t have to be there early, but on the off chance that Illumi was excited too he didn’t want to miss out on a moment with the assassin. If it turned out that Illumi was adhering to the schedule, then he could probably occupy himself at one of those specialty tailor shops so prominent in the city. It had been some time he got a new outfit, maybe he could even get matching ones for him and Illumi to wear on the job. Ever since the assassin had started wearing crop tops and slim trousers, Hisoka has been obsessed with seeing more of that trim waist and sculped arms. Say what you would about Hisoka, but when it came to lovers, he had standards.

Hisoka thought about the colors he might make Illumi’s outfit during the ride to the airport. Maybe something green, that color looked so lovely against his skin, especially when it flushed ever so softly from Hisoka’s careful ministrations. He could wait to present the gift to Illumi and see that –not so rare anymore, but still just as breathtaking— little smile.

He was so excited he could hardly wait.

Notes:

I can’t exactly explain why, but I think this is my favorite of all the fics I wrote for this event. Maybe it’s because I like all the call backs and repetition I used, which I think adds both layers and a melodic quality to the story.
