High Strung

Summary:

Carlos comes across a rookie in the abandoned Raccoon City Police Station and decides to lend a hand to help him relax.

Work Text:

Carlos sprinted into the police station, dodging reaching hands that threatened to snag his clothes. He pushed the double doors open with some trouble, grunting as he did. Once inside, he pressed the door closed tight again. He heard something click, some latch hooking in the door, and then there was silence.

Only Carlos’ heavy breathing filtered through the lobby of Raccoon City’s police station. Carlos took a moment to steady himself, letting the tension in his body ease out for a moment.

He shifted his grip on his AR, reorganizing himself. It was dark in here, just enough light to make out the base details of the room. The curves of the statue in the center, the sharp angles of stairs leading up to an overhang that stretched around the lobby. Carlos wasn’t sure where to start. He wanted to get out of here, but knew the doors behind him would just send him back into a death trap.

Carlos took in all the doors littered around the room, all the options he had. The doorway to the right was blocked off, metal shutter pulled down jaggedly. It looked wedged partially open, as if someone had wiggled their way under. Carlos decided not to mess with that area. When he got close enough to hear all too familiar groans.

He checked the door to the left, opening it up with a creak. He stepped in, hesitant. Seemed safe. Carlos made it out of that room and down a hallway, blindly wandering for an escape, taking in the chaos of a building ravaged by the virus.

He didn’t trust any of the windows as an escape, saw hands reaching out and grasping at anything that slipped by. He wasn’t about to jump out and get mauled immediately, so he kept moving.

He ended up at the end of the hall and moved into the room there, just going where the station led him. There was a door on the other end that was frustratingly locked. Carlos looked around at the dead end he had found himself in. He turned to leave, maybe there was another door unlocked that he had passed?

And then he spotted a window near the ceiling of the room, swung open and leading to another part of the station. He took note of the desk pressed flush against the wall there, items atop askew as if it had been pushed without care. It gave just enough reach for someone to haul themselves over the open window frame.

Carlos went over, strapping his gun to his back and pulling himself up onto the desk. He peaked out of the window first, into a dark and gloomy hall. He slid over, seeing nothing threatening.

He walked down the hall, all the doors locked here as well. He noticed a room that looked like some sort of place they stored evidence, or people in custody’s belongings. Locked too. Carlos shook his head, frustrated.

Carlos found a set of stairs and climbed it, moving with slow, deliberate steps to minimize the creaking as he went. He heard more sounds as he went up, stepping into a hallway at the top. Not the groaning or moaning from undead he had grown to known. Heavy thuds, measured out and continuous.

Carlos moved on with caution. It seemed his only path was through a locker room, moving past a few bodies dropped to the ground, unmoving.

It was a strange layout… this place used to be a museum or something right? Even so, it was odd. He made his way down a hall, the thuds that had steadily pounded in the background as a mockery of ambience stopping. He passed a door, reading the text that said S.T.A.R.S. on it. His mind wandered idly to Jill, how she was.

He passed by the office, something in him saying it would be a bad idea to enter. He moved on, coming out into a small lobby area that overlooked another part of the station. Carlos went into the door to the left.

He came out to… a library? Carlos frowned, confused and a little offput. He stepped backwards, back into the lobby area once he spotted some wandering zombies in the library. There’s no way he would get anywhere good with going through there. He started walking to the door back to the hallway when there was a loud crunch of wood and drywall, thudding footsteps returning in full force.

Carlos was immediately on edge, listening carefully. He opened the door back into the hallway, looking up to inspect the area and—

Carlos grunted as someone slammed into him, a surprised gasp coming from the person.

Carlos grabbed out, wrapping a hand around an upper arm. He steadied the person but kept a firm grip, free hand reaching out to run down the other arm, grabbing at a wrist to keep whoever this was from raising a tightly held gun.

Carlos looked down into blue eyes, wide and wild. A face smeared in grime and dried blood, brunet hair all over the place.

“Move!” The person said, who Carlos now noticed was dressed in full cop regalia. The person tore himself out of Carlos’ grip while he was distracted looking over the cop, instead gripping Carlos’ wrist firmly.

“What?” He asked, completely confused, and the person was pulling him into the library he had just peered into. He was being dragged around the balcony of the library, down the stairs.

“We have to move!” He said again, voice sounding strained. Carlos opened his mouth to talk again, say that maybe the library wasn’t where they should be going, and then they both startled. Something crashed into the library, flinging the door wide and breaking wood.

Carlos was being dragged along more urgently before he could properly register any details but what he caught a glimpse of had a spark of fear running down his spine. Whatever was chasing after this cop was huge. He knew they weren’t the same, could tell, but it reminded him too much of the thing that had been chasing Jill’s ass down.

Carlos was barely able to keep himself from tripping at the urgent pull of the person ahead of him. The man dodged the zombies that lingered in the area with something that hinted at this not being new to him and was quickly leading Carlos through another door.

They ended up on the balcony that Carlos had seen coming in, going around the overhang to the other side.

“C’mon, keep going!” The guy pulling at him said as he noticed Carlos slowing, trying to see what was stomping after them properly. He heard the heavy footsteps, only caught sight of the figure right as he was being pulled through another door.

More twists and turns through the building. And then the man leading him dragged Carlos into a room and slammed the door behind them. The footsteps were still heard and Carlos stayed quiet as both he and the man waited wearily until they passed.

And then the cop let out a heavy breath and Carlos saw the shake that tremored through his body. Carlos’ eyes widened, watching him teeter and hurrying forward just in time to catch him. He helped lower him to the ground, shaking hands clenching at Carlos’ arms and wrists.

He was breathing hard and erratic and Carlos wasn’t sure how to handle it and help.

“Okay, okay, uhh—” He said smartly. He got the man sitting down on his side, Carlos kneeling next to him. The man grasped at him shakily.

“It’s okay, you got us out of there, breathe man.” He patted the guy’s shoulder, feeling unsure. The man looked up, big blue eyes that shook with panic and Carlos took a moment to gather himself.

“I got you, breathe, it’s fine,” He said, finally actually sounding reassuring. The man made an obvious effort to find rhythm but struggled, breaths still staggered. A noise of distress came out of him and Carlos frowned.

“Follow this,” He said. He breathed evenly, overexaggerated. And that got the guy to follow, breath still hitching but finally calming down. He finally found his rhythm and went lax in Carlos’ grip, seemingly exhausted. Carlos held him, not sure what else to do and not keen on letting him sink further onto the dirty floor.

“S-Sorry—” The man in his arms got out breathily, voice cracking and dry. Carlos took a moment to rummage around through all the things strapped to his belts and holsters. He pulled out a canteen, plenty of water left in it.

“It’s okay,” He said, trying to keep his voice earnest. He couldn’t see the guys face right now, tilted down towards the ground instead of towards Carlos. Carlos held out the canteen in front of his face, offering it to him.

“Here, take some.” He said. He watched the man look up and then shakily grab for it. Carlos was worried he would drop the canteen as trembling hands struggled to open the lid, but the man drank it without incident.

“Thanks.” He said a bit more calm, turning to Carlos as he handed the canteen back. He finally pulled himself from Carlos’ grasp, holding himself up with his hands propped up on the floor. Carlos got a good look at his face finally.

He looked so young, not that Carlos was old by any stretch of the imagination, but there was such a clear curve and softness to his face that spoke of youth. Something uncomfortable settled in Carlos. What was a guy like this doing here? Caked in grime and blood. With some of the prettiest eyes and beauty marks Carlos had ever seen.

“Are you a cop here?” Carlos asked, taking in the uniform again. The man looked down, as if forgetting what he was wearing entirely. He frowned, and Carlos worried he’d struck a chord.

“I… this was supposed to be my first day.” He said. Carlos frowned.

“Poor first day, huh?” He responded airily, trying to put some more ease into the air around them. That pulled a laugh out of the man, seeming to relax.

“I’m Carlos, thanks for saving my ass.” He held out a hand. The cop—rookie is more appropriate, isn’t it?—frowned again, but took the hand.

“Leon. Leon Kennedy,” He shakily pulled himself up to stand, using his grip on Carlos’ hand to help him up too, “Don’t thank me yet, he’ll be back.”

“What is he?” Carlos asked after a pause, letting himself be pulled to his feet. Leon shrugged.

“Don’t know. I’ve just been trying to stay away from him, really. He’s got a nasty punch.” Leon shuddered, rolling his shoulder as if it cramped or ached. Carlos frowned sympathetically.

“Well, I’m looking for a way out of here. Any chance you might know how a guy can leave this place?” He asked, adjusting his gun from where it was strapped on his back. Leon sighed.

“That’s my goal right now too. Me and this girl Claire have been trying to find a way out of here. We might have found a way through the parking garage, just trying to get down there now, is all.” Leon dusted himself off, looking worn down. Carlos really couldn’t blame him. Who knew how long he’d been stuck in here looking for a way out…

“Don’t mind some company, do ya?” Carlos asked, catching Leon’s gaze as he seemed to start zoning out. Leon looked him over, then pulled a pistol out of his own holster.

“As long as you can hold your own. I can’t promise I’ll be able to help you out if something bad happens.” He said, not unkindly. Just honest. Carlos grabbed his own gun, his AR far bigger than the pistol the rookie had.

“I’ll watch my back, rookie. Don’t you worry.” He said. Leon hesitated, then gave a nod.

“Then follow me. I think I finally can get down there.” And he made to leave the room, listening carefully for any thundering footsteps or the groans of the undead. And with that, he was following the rookie through the station, down to the garage.

Carlos followed the rookie around and a few things stuck out to him as they went. Leon was put together, clearly thinking things through before he moved on, smart enough to know when to shoot and when to conserve ammo and just run past. And the last thing that really stuck out to Carlos: he was tense. So stiff and jumpy and bleeding nervousness that Carlos really thought he might start feeling too if Leon didn’t relax himself at least a bit.

They had made it to the parking garage and of course nothing was going as planned and Carlos worried that Leon was going to snap if things kept not going his way. When he caught a glimpse of Leon grinding his teeth together in frustration, jaw clenched tight, he had had enough.

“Alright rookie, get over here.” And he reached out and grabbed Leon by his vest, starting to drag him away from the gate blocking them from getting outside. The man made a startled noise, almost tripping as his feet scrambled under him at Carlos’ pull.

Carlos led him back to an area they hadn’t gone through yet, an old jail. After a quick look over to find it empty of undead, Carlos pulled Leon all the way to the back where a wide bench sat against a wall next to a bigger cell.

He sat Leon down, the man landing with a soft sound pushed out of him.

“What are you doing, we have things to do.” Leon said, looking a few steps away from being mad.

“No, we have time. You need to take a break. You’ve been going at this for hours, right?” Carlos asked. Leon gave a hesitant nod, “Exactly. Take a break before you burn yourself out.” He said. Leon frowned at him.

He opened his mouth and Carlos cut him off before he could speak again by slapping a hand over the man’s mouth. Leon startled hard under the hand, eyes going wide. Carlos could feel his face heat up under the hand.

“You need a break.” He said, tone stern, keeping out any of the teasing or light-heartedness he’d spoken with for most of the past hour or two with him. The man still was looking up at him with wide eyes and cheeks aflame.

Carlos let his hand drop and of course Leon shut his mouth, no longer complaining.

Carlos huffed and turned around to look down the hall again, taking a moment to double check the other cells and make sure they really were alone. Last thing he needed was a zombie popping up to scare the shit out of Leon again.

Carlos turned back to Leon, stepping back over to where he was sitting on the bench. Still tense. Carlos frowned, coming back over.

“I sat you down so you’d relax, rookie.” He said, playful again but a bit disappointed.

He stood over Leon, looking down at him with crossed arms. Leon looked back up at him, still red in the face. Carlos raised a brow. Was it embarrassment or…

“Sorry just—” Leon gulped audibly, looking nervous, “High strung, I guess…” Carlos looked down a bit further, Leon’s hands shoved down between his legs, thighs clenched tight together.

Oh. Ohhh. Well. Carlos wasn’t that surprised really. Just thought that maybe he’d been reading too into it at first. Carlos gave a quick thought to where they were, their situation. Zombie apocalypse, trapped in a police station, needing to escape. Was now really when he wanted to…

He refocused on Leon again, still flushed and looking so nervously up at Carlos.

Yeah, he wanted to.

“High strung, you say?” He asked, leaning down into Leon’s space. A clear flirt, but if Leon wasn’t okay with it he could back down.

Leon stared for a second, eyes wide and face so red. His eyes flickered all over Carlos’ face, starting at his eyes and jumping around. Carlos couldn’t help the smirk that broke over his face.

“That’s… one way to put it.” He responded, voice cracking. Carlos shifted to sit down next to Leon, as close as he could, leaning into his space and holding eye contact.

He slipped a hand up onto Leon’s side, feeling the way he jolted under the touch.

“Anything I can do to help?” Carlos asked, letting his voice sink low. And Leon was looking over him entirely, down his chest, further down, then flickering back up nervously.

“There might be… something.” He said, voice breathy.

And Carlos leaned in, giving the rookie a cautious kiss. If he had second thoughts, pulled back, Carlos would let him. But he didn’t, pressing harder into Carlos. His hands raised up, gripping at Carlos’ vest in tight fists, pulling him close and forcing Carlos down against him.

Carlos bit at Leon’s lips, soft and but chapped from his time down here, and Leon let out a quiet sound against Carlos’ mouth. Carlos smirked, letting his hand slide down to Leon’s thigh, giving him a squeeze. The rookie jolted again, seeming so, so sensitive.

Carlos was gonna have fun with this.

He started pressing Leon back with his other hand firm on his chest, the rookie clinging to Carlos shoulders and whining softly as he was pressed back against the bench.

“C’mon, don’t get upset on me now.” Carlos crooned against nipping lips, voice teasing. He pulled back, Leon having to stop kissing him as he pulled himself out of reach.

Leon was breathing hard already, Carlos looking down at him appreciatively. Heat pooled in his gut at the sight of the rookie laid out for him, so receptive and looking up at him with such anticipation. He moved his hand on his chest down, spreading it wide over a soft stomach.

Leon’s breath hitched at the touch, Carlos watching how he looked down, grabbed loosely at Carlos’ wrist.

He seemed a little dazed, eyes glazed over in a pleasant way. Carlos preened at how affected Leon was by such meager ministrations, having barely done anything and he already seemed a bit blissed out.

Carlos held eye contact, letting his hand slip further down. He felt Leon’s hip bones, the curve of the v guiding down between his legs. Before he could reach further, between muscled thighs like he wanted to, Leon was guiding his hand to the side over his thigh, leaning up to kiss him hard.

Carlos hummed into the kiss, surprised and a little confused, but going with it as Leon closed the distance between them. Leon bit at his lips with a roughness and demand Carlos didn’t think he was capable of, Carlos just going along with it as Leon took control of the kiss.

Carlos kept both his hands on Leon’s thighs, squeezing periodically, shifting to run warm palms over his inner thighs here and there but not moving much further as Leon’s grip on his one wrist derailed him from touching where he wanted to.

Leon had his tongue in Carlos’ mouth quickly, Carlos letting him in as something hot settled in his gut. Leon’s other hand reached up to fist into Carlos’ hair, gripping just enough to have zings of pleasure alighting Carlos’ spine but not to the point of unpleasant pain.

Carlos pulled back from the kiss, watching Leon frown as he moved away. But then Carlos moved down to kiss at Leon’s jaw, his neck, biting at a spot that had Leon huffing out a pleased breath of air. Carlos bit down hard in a spot, making the rookie gasp. He smiled against red skin, about to bruise, licking at it before moving back up to Leon’s mouth.

He kissed him again, this time sticking his own tongue down the rookie’s throat, loving the breathy and desperate noises that slipped out of him.

The grip on his wrist slipped as Leon’s hand came up to grip at Carlos’ shoulder, eyes closed tight as Carlos explored his mouth with his own tongue.

Carlos took the moment to move his hand between Leon’s legs, cupping at—not exactly what he had expected. He heard Leon’s breath hitch, felt the anxiety bleeding out of him again. Carlos brushed over his surprise. It’s not like it mattered, he intended to “relax” his partner one way or another.

Carlos continued kissing at Leon’s mouth, rubbing his palm with more intent between Leon’s legs, pressing against his clothed cunt. Leon gave a shaky moan against Carlos’ mouth, legs falling apart as Carlos pressed.

Carlos shifted over Leon’s face, pressing a few soft kisses to his lips, cheek, and then biting at his ear. Leon gasped, a shocked sound, his hands on Carlos tightening their grip.

Carlos pushed himself to sit up, hand pulling away from between Leon’s legs to fumble at his belt instead. He undid it, slipping it out of the loops and letting it clatter to the floor as he immediately went to unbutton and unzip Leon’s pants.

Leon was watching him, clearly nervous. He didn’t say anything, just flicked wide blue eyes between Carlos’ face, checking his expression, and his hands as he started tugging down his uniform pants.

Carlos kept Leon’s boxers on for now, hoping that the rookie would realize everything was fine and Carlos didn’t mind. Let him ease into it a bit, don’t make him overly vulnerable yet.

Carlos found his place back on Leon’s neck, biting gently and sucking and hearing all the soft noises the rookie let out. A hand found it’s way to the back of Carlos’ neck, holding him there against Leon’s neck as the rookie twitched under him at the pleasure. The reactions egged Carlos on, making him bite just a little harder, find new spots that could make Leon writhe.

He pressed his hand back between Leon’s legs, feeling the way the rookie jolted under him at the press of Carlos’ warm hand. He rubbed careful fingers between Leon’s cunt, feeling how it was already wet, soaking through the thin boxers.

Leon tensed under him as Carlos pressed, the boxers keeping him from really pushing into the tight heat of the rookie. Leon was making increasingly desperate and breathless sounds under him as Carlos worked his hand over him.

He found his clit, rubbing over it through the fabric. Leon gave a long, drawn out moan, legs falling further open and hips pressing up into the touch. Carlos smirked against his skin, continuing to touch him only through the boxers, hearing the breaths pick up and grow more whiney.

“Carlos—” Leon got out in a whine, cut off by his own panting.

“What? You gonna use your words, rookie?” He said, pressing more insistently against his clit, making hips jerk under his touch. Leon let out a sharp gasp, hand flying down to grab at Carlos’ wrist.

He looked at Carlos, mouth open and panting, chest rising and falling with his breaths, eyes begging him to stop borderline teasing. Carlos just raised a brow at him, slowing the steady circular movement even further in a way that made Leon try to press down against the hand, hoping to prompt him into moving more.

A few moments passed of Leon futilely trying to get Carlos to action again until he gave up, pressing his head back against the bench with a frustrated grunt, hips still attempting to move.

“You look like you have something you want to say.” Carlos said, slipping hands away from the rookie’s clit entirely to rub at soaked folds through the boxers, hand just barely touching. He watched Leon shiver at the barely-there sensation.

Leon looked back down at Carlos, brows furrowed hard and lip bitten between teeth.

“Ugh—fuck—” He gasped out when Carlos pressed more firmly again, giving him just a hint of the pleasure he could be feeling, “Fine—aah—please touch me properly, fuck me with your—haa—fingers, anything.” He said, gritting his teeth and trying to grind down against Carlos again. Carlos smirked, pulling his hand away.

“There we go, handsome. Finally being polite.” And Carlos grabbed at Leon’s boxers, pulling them down already shaking thighs without preamble. Leon gasped, cold air finally hitting him, legs moving to close together just slightly.

Carlos tsked at him lightly, using one hand to press against Leon’s thigh and hold it open, the other finally, finally dipping down to press two fingers into Leon’s tight cunt.

Leon gasped and it turned to a moan, raising a hand to almost cover his mouth. Carlos watched him react, pleasure sparking down his spine at Leon’s reactions. So fucking receptive to everything Carlos was giving him.

He was so wet, the sound of Carlos thrusting his fingers in and out of Leon’s pussy loud in the quiet room. Leon closed his eyes tight, brows furrowed and mouth hanging open at the press.

He gasped and moaned each time Carlos pressed in, using his thumb to rub at Leon’s clit while his other hand was still busy keeping his shaking thighs from clenching together.

“Look at you,” Carlos crooned, loving the way Leon’s body seemed to light up at the praising tone, “So handsome. Taking my fingers so good.” He said, and Leon let out a breathy moan, body going lax under Carlos’ ministrations and words.

“C-Carlos—” He got out shakily, sounding thoroughly blissed out. Carlos loved every second of it, loved the way Leon’s hips twitched with every press to his clit, every curl of Carlos’ fingers inside of him.

Carlos recognized how achingly hard he was in his own pants, letting go of Leon’s thigh to pull himself out of confining boxers and pants. Leon watched him, pace of the fingers inside of him slowing as Carlos focused on belts and buttons and zippers.

Leon let out a reverent sound when Carlos finally pulled himself out, stroking lazily and finding a rhythm again inside of Leon’s cunt.

“Bet you would feel so good around me,” Carlos said, his own breath picking up as he stroked his cock, leaning over Leon and pressing into him with his fingers harder. He slipped a third finger in the rookie, watching him writhe at the touch. Pleasure flared up in his gut.

“So warm, so fucking wet. So good for me.” Carlos huffed out, already feeling too fucking close. Leon watched him with lidded eyes, looking absolutely fucked out between the words and Carlos’ experienced touch.

He was grinding his hips down into Carlos’ touch as best he could with Carlos’ picked up pace. Leon tensed around Carlos’ fingers, hand reaching down to grip at the edge of the bench as he gave a drawn out moan. Carlos watched his face, utterly enraptured with the way he bit at his lip, brows furrowed.

His cunt clenched around Carlos’ fingers in a way that made him groan, just imagining what it would feel like around his cock. He felt Leon cum, heard it as he groaned and gasped and clenched tight fingers against the bench.

Carlos stroked himself as Leon came down from his high with pants that filled the small room, grunting as he came across Leon’s stomach. His vision whited out for a second, pleasure hot down his spine.

They both breathed, relishing in the aftershocks. Their breathing echoed through the room, coming back to themselves.

“You still feeling high strung?” Carlos asked breathily, a smirk pulling at his mouth as he tucked himself back in his pants. Leon gave a laugh, slowly pushing himself to sit up, looking so much more relaxed.

“No, I definitely would say I’m not.” He laughed, reaching down to grab at his tossed aside boxers and pants. Carlos helped, lending a hand as Leon redressed himself. Carlos fished out a handkerchief he’d been given as part of his uniform and hadn’t worn, wiping Leon down with it before fully redressing him.

Leon gave a thank you, continuing to lay back against the bench as they recuperated. He seemed far more at ease now.

Carlos was very, very pleased with the turn his little detour to get Leon to relax had taken. But now he had to get himself back in the mindset of getting the hell out of this place.

Carlos stood, popping a few joints as he stretched. Leon watched him, eyeing him as he reloaded his gun and checked his pockets for all his weapons. When Carlos turned to look at Leon he was frowning.

“Our little tryst is over, we need to keep moving, rookie.” Carlos said. Leon clearly withheld a sigh, sitting up and legs shaking bad enough that it would have been funny if he didn’t look so thoroughly downtrodden now. Carlos took a moment to watch him grab and reload his own gun.

“Hey, we’re gonna get out of here soon enough.” Carlos offered when Leon finished up. The rookie looked up at him, frowning turning up into a hesitant smile. He nodded, almost to himself.

“Yeah,” he said in a huff of breath, gearing himself up to venture out again, “We’ve got this.” And he was leading the way forward, out of this section of the station. Carlos watched him, mildly impressed with his sudden resolve.

Carlos followed him, backing the rookie up, more than excited for the possibilities between them when they finally got out of this hellhole.
