“Ugh, finally some sorta peace and quiet”. I lifted up my mask just enough to shove a couple chips in. I had just popped into a nearby corner store that seemed to be everywhere in NY. The loud bustling city and that occasional robbery happening around the corner.

Flashback
“Hey Spidey!” yelled the cashier from across the way. He was filling up the shelves at the back of the store.
“Hey Pat, how’s the dog been? Is she getting any better?” I asked while looking up and down the isles, occasionally picking up snacks for my never ending churning stomach.
“Yeah, ole Dorthy is doin’ a lot better. Turns out she’s diabetic so we got her on a special diet. Poor girl, she just wants her sweets.” He started walking towards the front to take care of another customer.
“Well that’s great she’s feeling better.” I walked up to the counter and laid all my snacks on the counter. Pat rang up all my things and put them into a brown paper bag .
“Have a great day Pat! Tell ole Dorthy I said Hey!” I grabbed my bag and headed towards the door. Once I was walking through the door I bumped into someone.
“Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to…..”

And that’s how I ran into this idiot.
“Heyyyyyy Spidey, wanna go out to lunch sometime, you gotta eat more than that”.
“No Wade, I have to stay vigilant, remember I'm still on patrol. Besides, I doubt you got that money ethically.” I took a drink of my water doing my best to ignore the pouty face Wade was making at me.
“Awwww, come one spidey, I don't need you passing out in the middle of some crappy robbery, making me have to swoop in and save you, you helpless princess”. He started to poke at my shoulder and I tried my best to just ignore him.
“Besides, I earned this money fare and square”. Wade said, crossing his arms like a child trying to prove his point.
I stood up, pulled my mask down, and brushed off the debris from the rooftop. Looking back over to see Wade just looking at me, but he wasn’t looking at my face. I sighed.
“Well, I have to get back now, will you throw this away for me?” I motioned to the brown paper bag sitting beside him.
“Sure can do! I’ll see ya around!” He said while blowing a kiss towards me.
I brushed it off as Wade just being Wade. So standing at the edge of the building, I aimed off into the distance at a nearby pole and I was off. The last thing I heard before I left was an “I love you” from Wade.
Was I hallucinating or was my face heating up from blushing. I shook my head and went on with the rest of my day.
