Chapter 1: The Accusation

Chapter Text

"Oh fuck me. Where's the fucking Paragon!" Dundee is confused. He's just woken up and wants to go for his usual 'wake up drive' but fucking no. The Paragon isn't here. "Baaarrrryyyy! Where the fuck is the Paragon?" He huffs down the radio. "I don't know cunt. Ask Pez. It's his now remember" Barry replies, "PEZ! PEZ! PEZ!" Dee screams "He even on radio?" "OH! MY! GOD! CUNT! SHUT UP! IM DOING AN OXY RUN!" Barry screams back "Go knock on his fucking door". "OOOH good idea Husband" Dee chirps happily, proceeding towards Pez's front door.

"OI Pez! Open up cunt", Dundee whines while knocking on the door. There's movement within, so it's only a matter of time before Pez opens up. Collin is already out doing shit. A few more bangs should do it. He's about to knock again when the door opens, and a sour looking Pez greets him, "What cunt? I was asleep" "The Paragon Pez. Where is it?". A look Dee can't quite place washes over Pez. "Well?" Dee raises an eyebrow, "I'm waiting Pez. I've got shit to do". "You'll be waiting a while Dee. It's in the ocean" Pez deadpans, "The fuck you say cunt?" Dundee shrieks "IT'S FUCKING WHERE?". "The ocean Irwin. What? I gotta use your first name for you to listen to me?. The. Ocean." Dundee recoils in horror "I heard you cunt, but it still doesn't explain why the FUCK IT'S IN THE FUCKING GODDAMNED OCEAN". "Oh right. Well come in. I'll get you a drink" Pez sighs and moves out of the doorway to let Dundee in.

Sceptical at what fucking story Pez is about to tell him, Dundee walks towards the dining room and sits down. A few moments later, Pez appears, having changed, hands him a beer, takes one for himself and sits opposite. "Right. Explain it to me Pez. Why the fuck, is the Paragon in the fucking ocean?", starting to get irritated Dee couldn't help the impatience that laces his tone. "Well," Pez starts, "You won't believe it. Chip and I were driving around yesterday" he sounds almost whimsical, "I forget what we were even talking about but he mentioned his ex-boyfriend Barry gave a weapon or something to him" "Ah huh. Riiight" "Anyway, I went 'What did you say?' and he said my 'ex Barry... Barry Benson and that his boyfriend gave it to him then he gave it to me before I gave it to you' so I drove Chip and the Paragon off the pier" Pez, deeply involved telling his story hasn't noticed Dundee griping his beer tightly, looking extremely displeased, "I've checked with towing and they need to get a special truck in. It'll be a few days yet. There ya go Dee, that's why the Paragon is in the ocean". A long sigh and deep drink signal Pez has finished his story. "Ahh I feel better now. Thanks for the company you can go now, I have things to do ok?" Still unaware that a mood has settled over Dundee, he ushers the man out of his house.

"Alright Dee, I'm almost back now. Did you find the Paragon and go for your drive?" Barry floats happily through the radio. Dundee is sitting on the couch in the dark. Brooding. He had walked the short distance back in a slight daze. Chip told Pez that Barry was his ex. Barry Benson. HIS Barry. Waves of jealousy and anger have been rippling through his body since then, his mind spirals with thoughts he doesn't want and a frenetic energy he can't shake tingles his limbs. The beer Pez provided sits on the coffee table. He'd been taking angry swigs while swirling the contents around as he sat. The drink nearly finished, Dundee knows this will blow up. It always does when he gets THIS jealous. He has fallen into a rage fuelled haze. He can't help it, the thought of Barry being with someone other than him drives him insane. He doesn't care that the Paragon is underwater, not right now, "Ah, yeah B. Pez told me where it is. I'm at home though" Dee replies flatly. Dundee is seeing red. Barry had told him there was no-one else besides him while in Los Santos, and it appears he's either cheated or lied. "You ok Dee?" Barrys concerned voice comes through. Unable to answer, Dee sits silently. If he replies now, everyone on the radio will know somethings up. "Dee?" Barry tries again, sounding more concerned. Once more Dee remains silent. A soft "Fuck" comes through the radio.

Dundee, feeling his anger seething, has grown impatient waiting for Barry. He knows his husband will come straight home to him, he always does.

Barry is really concerned. Dee seems off. Something changed when he searched for the Paragon. Unease growing he parks the HSV and walks towards his home. Dee mentioned he was home but the state he's in remains to be seen. "Dee? You ok?" he softy asks entering the house. Silence. It's dark but Barry hears a slight huff indicating Dee is close. "Dee. Please talk to me?" he pleads, taking off his Timbs leaving them at the front door. Shock and confusion greet him, as he turns on the lights to see Dundee radiating hostility from the couch. "Dundee? What's wrong?" Barry tenderly questions his husband. Slowly, Dundee raises his head and leans back against the couch; narrowing his eyes, staring daggers at Barry he angrily spits "Why didn't you tell me you dated Chip?". Taken aback Barry recoils in horror "WHAT THE FUCK CUNT" he screams "I'VE NEVER BEEN WITH CHIP". Tears pricking in his eyes, Barry is bewildered. He has no idea where this accusation has come from. "Don't fucking lie to me Benson" Dee growls, "You know I don't like it when you lie to me."

"I'm not lying to you Dee. I've never been with Chip. Why are you saying this?" Barry whispers. He doesn't understand what's happened to make Dundee think he was with Chip. "Why are you lying to me Barry. I really don't like being lied to. IT MAKES ME ANGRY" his growl raises to a yell, "AND I'M ALREADY FUCKING ANGRY" he screams picking up the beer bottle and throwing it hard towards Barry, roaring "STOP. MAKING. ME. FUCKING. ANGRY". Just managing to dodge the bottle, Barry is stunned as he hears it smash against the wall behind him. He can't fathom what caused this outburst. Stunned that his husband threw a glass bottle at him, Barry doesn't notice Dundee get off the couch and stalk towards him until he feels palms angrily pushing against his chest. Sent stumbling into the wall, Dundee doesn't give Barry time to compose himself before invading his personal space. Dee pulls his husband up and pins him against the wall with a forearm against his throat, getting up into his face. "TELL ME THE FUCKING TRUTH BARRY. WHEN WERE YOU WITH CHIP? HMMM!" he screams, unable to contain his rage. "I wasn't." Barry chokes out, feeling the pressure of Dundee's forearm. Dee may be shorter than him but he's arguably stronger, and with the rage he's feeling Barry knows this won't end well, for either of them. Using his arms to wedge a gap between his throat and Dees arm, Barry is able to ease the pressure he feels. "How many times do I need to say it cunt. I was never with anyone in Los Santos besides you" he whispers weakly.

"Barry, why would someone make up a lie involving you and Chip of all people?" Dee starts coldly, "They wouldn't. Meaning you either lied about being with other people before me, or you've cheated. Which one is it, Benson? Did you lie or cheat?" he finishes venomously. Barry is rocked. His husband actually believes he's been unfaithful which breaks his heart. He remains quiet, not wanting to dignify Dundee with an answer. He can't stop the tears from streaking down his face as he looks at his husband's face. A twisted sneer resting on his features with wide pupils and an overall look of contempt have turned the beautiful face Barry fell in love with, into an unrecognizable being of spite. "Well, well, well. Barry, are those tears an admission of guilt?" Dee smirks "I take it you fucked Chip. Hmm?". Dundee leans up to Barry, "OR" maintaining eye contact as he leans up towards his ear and hisses "Did. He. Fuck. You. Hmm? Was it in our bed? One of our cars? Did he make you feel good, Barry?"

Barry can tell his husband is consumed by rage. The nasty words and accusations have left him devastated and feeling empty. He has no energy to stand anymore so when Dee moves to the kitchen for another beer Barry slides down the wall into a heap on the floor. Shards from the broken bottle have cut him up but he doesn't really notice or care. Dundee's actions have cut him deeper than any shard of glass ever could. As tears turn into violent sobs a desperate need to escape arises. He can hear Dee muttering to himself as he moves around the kitchen. When the fridge opens, Barry knows that his chance and quickly runs out the door.

Irwin Dundee is in a daze. A jealousy fuelled rage he doesn't know how to contain, if he even wants to that is. He takes Barry's tears as an admission of guilt and the thought of his husband being intimate with Chip eats away at him. Is this how Barry felt when he was with Emma? He doesn't want to think about that. The front door slams shut while he takes a sip of his new beer and the spot where Barry slumped is now vacant. Noticing something splotched on the carpet he takes a closer look. It's blood. Barry's blood. Snapped from his daze, guilt washes over him as his rage dissipates. The broken bottle is covered in droplets of Barry's blood and there's a trail of blood and shards leading out the front door. His husbands trusty Timbs sit near the door. Fuck. Regret pools in his stomach and dread in his heart. He went too hard at his husband and now Barry is out in the world injured and without shoes. Dundee calls Barry and moves to follow the trail. Before he can take another step his husbands phone starts ringing on the ground. It's fallen out of his pockets along with his keys. Shit. Following the trail, it leads over the Billy wall and ends in the carpark. Barry has taken a random fucking car and could be anywhere by now. This isn't good. Dundee starts to panic as the guilt over his treatment of Barry starts numbing his senses.

He has no idea what to do. Various emotions are eating away at him: guilt, panic, fear, dread, and he is frightened that this time, he's royally fucked up so much that Barry will not come back. He needs help. Jumping back over the wall, the oddest site greets him but perhaps this is what he needs. "Chip Wheeler. We need to talk"
