Chapter Text

“Eyes up guardian”

All of a sudden my vision fills with light. After I recover my vision I see a floating orbish looking thing. “Where am I and what are you,” I ask in a hesitant voice.

“I’m a ghost or more specifically your ghost and you are in the Old Cosmodrome,” the floating orb thing said. Then I hear a loud shrieking noise. “We need to get out of here,” my ghost instructed.

My ghost quickly instructed me to run towards the old rusted wall of the Cosmodrome. When we made it inside it was almost pitch black other than the small light on what I believe is my helmet. The ghost turns on the lights and I see what is four-armed aliens running away from the light like bugs.

“We need to keep moving guardian”

I continue ahead where my ghost instructs me to pick up a rifle. I guess I won’t be making out of this without a fight.

When we finally make it out of the wall into the sunlight and I think see another guardian. From what I can see their armor is maroon with a black helmet and accents. Their armor also looks like it is like a dress.

“Is that another guardian over there?” I ask my ghost excitedly.

“Yes, and that is a Warlock. They are usually very smart and like their books. Unlike yourself which you are most likely a Hunter.”

“Will they be able to help us?”

“Most guardians are willing to help new guardians like us.”

“So, I would like to yes,” my ghost added.

At that moment I decided that I would go and help them finish off their fight and see if they were willing to help me. As we were up on a hill I was picking the Fallen as my ghost explained from afar.

Once the fight was over I came down the hill and met the Warlock.

“Ah, I see a kinderguardian”

“A what,” I ask indignantly. I don’t know what that means but what I do know is it sounded like an insult.

“A kinderguardian. A new guardian as in some on who was just revived, “ the warlock explained. “Oh, by the way, my name is Sam.”

“Oh, my name is- I don’t remember.” I start to panic as it should be something that I should know. Why can’t I remember? Why can’t I remember? It should be basic knowledge and if I can’t remember that what else am I missing.

“Love” Is all I hear and then the warlock is grabbing my arm. “It is ok if you don’t remember many guardians don’t when they are first revived. It is ok,” Matt said calmly. “Most of us don’t remember anything from our past life.”

Just him talking helped my brain stop panicking and I have the sudden feeling that I know him but I didn’t bring it up.

“Can you help us back to the City?” I ask in a meek voice.

“Sure love, I can give you a lift.” He says in the same calm voice as before. “I can also help you figure out a name on the way back.” As he started to walk in the direction that I think his ship was in.

When we make it back to his ship. He ushers me inside first and then he takes his helmet off.

All of a sudden I am hit with a memory or a group of memories. Where I saw myself cuddling into him, laughing and smiling. We were in love before we died. I still had no idea what my name is but I do know that I can trust him.

“I remember you from my past life”

“What?”

“When I saw your face. Memories came back to me. They were of me and you,” I explained as I pulled off my helmet. Then I saw that he had a moment of recognition and realized who I was.

“Your name was Jane and you were, are the love of my life,” he said without skipping a beat.
