I thought I was done for… Yet, you breathed life into me like spring sweeps winter off its feet.
I thought I dreamed the pain in your voice, your whispers in my ear coaxing me back to the world we regretfully called home.
I thought your pain was only a dream, but it was just a fruitless hope I had in the back of my mind.
It felt like a century since I last looked into your golden eye.
The blissful swirl in them reminded me of the honey you’d stir into my tea in the mornings.
It was almost like you were tricking me into tasting something that wasn’t bitter. I never argued,
But little did you know, being with you was enough to fill my tongue with all the sweetness left in our unforgiving home.
When I saw you, the entire world shook around me.
Or more accurately, the world around us shook.
Thousands of Titans from Paradis started to move, you told me.
Your fingers were in my hair as if you were trying to soothe me. I’m not sure if you even noticed, but maybe you were trying to soothe us both.
How ironic, I thought, to feel something so comforting and warm when there was so much chaos around us. Why did it have to be at that moment I decided I wanted you for as long as I had left to live? What kind of sick joke was it, to fall in love with you now?
I thought I was done for... Yet, how cruel it is that I was the one that lost you instead?
