Work Text:
Would you be friends with your ex? If you asked Han Jisung a few years back he would say never, now in the present he would tell you that sometimes you don't have a choice.
You see Jisung never thought he would end up dating his childhood best friend and crush Lee Minho. Minho was just supposed to be an appetizing fruit from a forbidden tree. It looked delicious and when you bit it you had the feeling that you were eating the juiciest fruit in the world. Like you could die in peace having tasted it. But you see the problem is that it was poisonous, you slowly died with this apple.
It was a bad breakup but their lives were too intertwined for them to leave each other without collateral damage so they decided to be civil to each other until they could be friends again at least for their other friends sanity. Jisung didn't want to lose Seungmin and Minho didn't want to lose Chan. And Changbin... He was a wildcard. No one really knew were his loyalty would lie.
2 years had passed since they ended their relationship and civility was still the only thing that bound them together. The four were still friends, somewhat, and Chan found the love of his life, Lee Felix. Felix brought two new additions to the group in the form of a sweet dramatic artist called Hwang Hyunjin and the cute model Yang Jeongin.
Felix and Chan came from Australia on January inviting the other 6 guys to their wedding in April. So, of course, a party was made in Seungmin's house to celebrate it.
"Come one, hyung. Let me make you another piña colada!" Han was dragged to the wide kitchen by his taller friend.
"Kim Seungmin for the last time I'm allergic to pineapples."
Seungmin moved his head sideways in a way that reminded Jisung of his puppy Bbama. "What? Don't be ridiculous piña coladas don't have pineapples they have piñas!"
Jisung chuckled as he saw his friends grabbing the pomegranate syrup to make the supposed non-pineapple drink. He really was surrounded by idiots.
"Lixie! Minhoooo! What do you want? Do you want some piña coladas too? I'm making one for our Hannie."
Felix giggled and hugged Seungmin. "Make me one Seungminnie! Let's get drunk!"
Minho scoffed and sat next to Jisung. "Your Hannie is allergic to pineapples."
Seungmin giggled and rolled his eyes. With a spoon that was close, he bopped the older's nose.
"Piña colada doesn't have pineapple silly, it has piña."
Felix looked at Seungmin with hearts in his eyes. "You are so smart Seungmin. That's why you are such a great lawyer."
Minho looked incredulously at his two friends. He grabbed a beer can and left while muttering. "I'm surrounded by idiots."
Jisung chuckled at how even now they still think the same sometimes.
It was nice thinking that he somehow, albeit a bit thinly, maintained a relationship with his childhood crush even after dating him. Other times it was the most heartbreaking thing to have so close someone who he once called his soulmate, when that someone barely spared him a glance and cold greetings.
Two year is too of a long time for his heart to stop bleeding and yet...
"Guys, we are going to start playing beer pong just like we used to in college come on." Chan entered and gave them a smile. Han left his piña colada untouched in the kitchen.
The ping pong table laid in the middle of the living room, the couches tossed aside to make room for it.
Seungmin laughed. "Where did you even find it? I haven't seen this in years."
Changbin chuckled bluffing around. "I always know everything, Kim Seungmin. But beside the broken pool in the attic from the last time your parents came to surprise you."
Hyunjin and Jeongin were too busy making the shots and putting them in rows to follow the conversation. Felix was whining to Chan about how it was unfair he didn't know him in college. The other two were left to their own thoughts.
The last time they had played beer pong, two years ago. The day after he and Minho broke up. Jisung shook his thoughts out of the sea of maybes and if onlys when Jeongin exclaimed they were ready and for them to choose the teams.
"You should do the teams just like you used to have back in college!" Hyunjin said.
A fine idea except the teams back in college had the couple back in college.
Minho felt Changbin's eyes on them and tried to slide out of the situation. "I don't know guys. My wrist kind of hurts."
"The couples used to be Seungmin and Chan against Jisung and Minho." Beer pong couples, but with a real couple in it. Minho hated that Changbin used that word to explain the pairings.
"Come on, guys. You know I just want to see a bit of how everything was before I met you. Please," Felix begged them.
Everyone ended up agreeing because nobody wanted to make Felix cry. Thing that he would totally do in the state of intoxication he was.
"Well I was always the referee so are you playing guys?" Changbin walked towards the center.
The ex couple stared at each other. Two years surely they could play a game together. They reluctantly agreed.
"We should bet on something or it will be boring. Chan and Seungmin can bet on having to clean all of our messes during the wedding week."
A bet? They had agreed to playing the game and maybe that was the first mistake. Well second, their first mistake was probably befriending Hyunjin.
"And Minho and Han can share a room during the vacation."
Fucking Hwang Hyunjin. Han could kill him. Changbin choke on his own spit while Seungmin and Chan tried to hide behind each other.
Minho scoffed. "And why would we accept that?"
"Come on, hyung. Or are you still stuck up on the cute coffee guy?"
Fucking Hwang Hyunjin. Minho will kill him one day.
"Who is the cute coffee guy? I don't understand what I have to do with this cute coffee guy anyways."
Minho grabbed his arm. "Jisung is not like—"
Jeongin laughed and clapped Hyunjin on his back. "Come on! It will be funny. The two enemies sharing a room."
Changbin threw the ball at Jisung as he mocked them. "Even then Han. The challenge will be only if you lose. Are you afraid you'll lose so soon?"
This is why you shouldn't have friends. Changbin knew exactly what he was doing challenging him like that. But Jisung wouldn't fall for such an easy trick—
"Let's do it." He would fall in fact. How dare him insinuate that he wouldn't win. Besides during all their games Minho and he had never lost. Two years wouldn't make a difference.
"Let's win," Jisung muttered sheepishly at Minho when he realized he had made the decision all by his own. Minho looked as impassive as he always did, his face reflecting no emotions. He used to think that he could easily know what was going through the older's mind but maybe two years were time enough to forget the signs.
Minho nodded and got to position. The three others followed as Changbin explained the rules to their new friends. First to get to ten.
They ended up being par to par during the game. Right when they were nine to nine, Seungmin threw a tricky ball and Minho cursed.
It was their turn. Jisung was about to send the ball when Minho tried to cheer him up. "Let's go Sungie!"
Sungie. As if it nothing ever happened. As if two years ago they didn't break up. As if they were the two deep in love soulmates they once proclaimed to be. He missed the shot.
Chan looked at them sheepishly and there the last bowl. It went in and Han took the shot quickly. What did they get into?
The wedding date came closer than what they thought and soon enough the 8 boys were reunited in Australia on a Tuesday afternoon.
Felix and Chan were to be married at the Avalon Castle on Friday. Luckily they found a cottage resort close by where they could stay. They would be separated by couples in four different cottages.
In particular, three of the four cottages were renovated with heaters and new modern designs but the other one was yet to be renovated and so it was given to Jisung and Minho.
Every cottage was separated by a part of the forest, making all of them private singular places, a bit scary in Jisung's opinion though.
Their cottage was the farthest from the entrance so by the time they reached the cottage they waited a minute or two in the deck catching their breaths.
"Are you okay?" Minho said after a while looking like a decent human being. Han was still catching his breath inhaling deeply, his face probably red, while Minho with his dancer physique was perfectly fine.
"Yeah, just the air difference you know. My lungs aren't used to not being filled with fine dust and smoke from the city."
Minho gave a small snort as he opened the door of their shared place. It was a single room reminding Jisung of the place they used to rent back when he first started college.
Their loft was better though. This room's walls were covered in an old green and white wallpaper (it was probably white but it looked like it had been color cream for the last decade). The kitchen was in one corner of the room with a small circular table on its center. The windows were small and covered with heavy dark curtains so the room looked smaller on the inside. A small fireplace was in the middle of a wall with a chimney that rised from it.
"Of course, there's only one bed. I can sleep on the floor." Jisung sat on the floor and opened his suitcase. He started placing his clothes on the lower parts of the vanity knowing that Minho always left the lower shelves empty to avoid crouching down to get his stuff.
Minho shot him an incredulous look as he set his bag on the bed. "Don't be silly, there's not enough bed covers for that. We can share the bed. It's big enough."
"Besides," Minho continued opening his bag, "we can put some pillows on the middle."
Jisung sighed and mumbled his agreement. He left to put his toiletries in the bathroom, when he came back to the room Minho was coming from outside putting the phone in his pocket.
"The guys said that we are meeting at the entrance to go get dinner at Chan's favorite restaurant. Just let put the rest of my things away and we'll go."
Jisung nodded and walked outside to wait for him. The air in the room was too heavy with unsaid words, suffocating. How would he be able to sleep at night with Lee Minho next to him?
Chan's favorite restaurant was probably heaven to a carnivore. Lamb, pork, chicken, duck, every meat was on the menu. Cuts that Jisung never heard before were advertised on its pictures.
Minho looked confused at the menu and Jisung remembered that the older wasn't that good in English. He opened the chat with the older for the first time in two years, the only messages they shared recently were from the other members using their phones to ask for things.
Han Jisung
Hyung, there's lamb ribs on the menu if you want
It's on the third page, the fifth dish
Jisung saw Minho blinking fast a couple times at the phone in his lap before raising his head and giving Jisung a small smile. He smiled shyly back at him and Minho's face turned annoyed.
Lee Minho
I can order by myself
Jisung scoffed. What an asshole.
Whatever, he knew that Minho was probably going to order the lamb ribs and was just saying that to try and piss him off. It was working though.
Soon the waitress came to ask their order. Jisung ordered a pork chop skillet, pork grinds fries, and a pink lemonade. He waited pretending to be on his phone watching what Minho was going to choose.
"This," the older said as he pointed at the lamb ribs, "and a Coke."
Jisung rolled his eyes, Minho was still as predictable as always.
After dinner, Changbin kept whining about not wanting to go back so soon go the cottages so they ended up going to a karaoke.
Jeongin and Hyunjin sang some older IU songs to start. Changbin and Han followed with Outsider songs trying to outrap each other. Taking turns with the microphones the eight kept drinking and having fun all night until they really couldn't know if they had already sang some songs and whose turn it was. Surprisingly, they all got home.
When Han woke up the next day, he had another surprise to think about. The room was colder than he thought it would be in the morning. When he woke up, the cold was all he could think about and so he hugged closer the source of warmth next to him. Thank God, Minho had convinced him on sharing the bed. Minho. Minho. Minho?!
He immediately opened his eyes in shock, the source of warmth could only be his ex boyfriend. However, because he was Han Jisung, things could only be worse than his own fears. His eyes immediately traced the shirtless torso of Minho, before feeling his own nakedness.
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.
He gasped and recoiled from the other guy's embrace.
"Hmmm?" Minho mumbled with his eyes closed.
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.
"Minho, wake up, you bastard." Jisung kicked his leg. His obviously naked leg. How had it happen? Oh my God.
The older groaned and opened his eyes. He quickly sobered up when he saw Han shirtless, his eyes widening before lifting the sheet and checking if he had clothes on. "Fuck did we...".
Jisung grabbed Minho's shirt that was thrown over the bed before standing up. He recognized the tied condoms on the floor.
"What the fuck Minho? Did you bring condoms to this trip?!"
Minho groaned as he closed his eyes. "Sssshh. My head. Yeah, I thought maybe I could get lucky with ... a random guy at this trip. Fuck I can't believe this."
A random guy. Han sighed. "Don't worry, this was just a mistake. We were drunk and today you can hook up with your random guy."
"A mistake? Okay, yeah, we were drunk. We could've had ended up with anybody else."
Han went and grabbed some clothes from his shelves. "A mistake. I'll shower first."
Minho groaned again as he stood up to put on some clothes and clean the room. A routine he had long forgotten with Jisung.
They decided to not tell anyone the mistake since it was none of their business and they didn't want to deal with the drama it would follow. They were two perfectly healthy adults, they can sleep with each other. Who said that exes shouldn't hook up anyways?
"Minho, tell Chan that white roses are not pretty. Can't believe he wants them in my bouquet! It's mine, if you want you can throw them to the dogs."
Hyunjin quirked up at that. "There will be dogs at the wedding?"
Chan sighed. "Hyunjin? What no? There won't be any dogs at the wedding."
Jeongin slided into his seat. "You are uninviting Seungmin?"
Seungmin barked smiling at him and the whole table laughed at the cute guy antics
Minho groaned finally taking a seat. "Just how evil was I for me to get the punishment of being your friend in this lifetime? Everything hurts."
Changbin scoffed. "The ones being punished is obviously us." When Minho glared at him, he only made funny faces at him making the older boy laugh.
"God bless places like this with unlimited self service coffee. I'm so tired." Han said finally sitting down with his friends.
"Did you guys went to a Zumba session or something after we met yesterday? Why do you two look so dead?" Hyunjin gave a shoulder massage to Jisung who was next to him.
"We chased the demons in the forest but two got to us and ate us. So we look dead because we are dead. We are actually the demons right now. A pleasure to meet you."
Han rolled his eyes at the older words. "It was just cold. Thanks for giving us the old cottage, by the way."
They discussed the schedule for the day. Jisung would go with the younger ones to the beach while the older ones would go to the local fair. Gladly, he wouldn't have to be with Minho until the evening. How embarrassing to find himself sleeping with his ex.
"Changbin do you want to change? I don't want to go to the beach."
Changbin quickly agreed happily at Seungmin. He was a bit of a beach addict so it had bummed him out to go with the older guys shopping. He wanted to try surfing or snorkeling with the small sharks.
Minho thought the fair would be different. Back home there were all kinds of thematic fancy fairs with huge and new rides or novelty sides as well as small local fairs that visited the small villages once a year. This was nothing like it. It was more like a combination or if he thought about it a bit like the fair from The Notebook, romantic but old themed.
Hyunjin and Chan went to the big rides while Minho and Seungmin went to try their luck at the small game stands.
"Why didn't you get on the rides? I can't because of my acrophobia but you are fine."
Seungmin cheered him up when Minho shot a hoop over one bottle before he gave a glare to the older. "Are you kidding me? That metal looks rusted as fuck, I don't want to die like that. I can't believe Chan and Changbin hate their lives so much as to get on them. Yay, now my turn."
Seungmin pushed Minho after the older lost for the fourth time in a row and grabbed the hoops.
"So, what really happened yesterday with Jisung? Did you guys accept that you still love each other or something?"
Minho rested his elbows on the old wooden stand. "What do you mean? Nothing happened. I'm over him."
Seungmin bit his lip. "You're over him?" He threw one hoop failing miserably by a whole three feet. "You know? I used to like you."
Minho frowned. "Is this your way of saying that you now hate me or something? I know I'm not that nice but I treat that way the people I like."
As the last hoop jumped off one bottle, the metal making a chill sound with the plastic tool, Seungmin finally looked at Minho in the eyes. "No, like I used to like-like you. I had a crush on you."
The shorter friend immediately rolled over in laughter. He grabbed his knees trying to catch his breath. Seungmin scoffed and walked away, his friend running after him catching his arm.
"Sorry, sorry. Yeah right, Kim Seungmin. You liked me. Good one." When Seungmin took his arm away, Minho sobered up. "Wait... Really? Me? You liked me? When? Why?"
"You are nicer than what you think. It was a long time ago, back when we were teens. But Jisung confessed first, I guess, and you were both my friends. So I made efforts to get over you."
Minho looked for a table close by and sat down in a chair. "Sorry, I didn't know. You should have said so."
Seungmin raised an eyebrow at him. "When? He asked you first. You were in love with Jisung. Then the breakup was bad. Timing was never right."
"So you just kept it all these years?"
Seungmin just raised his shoulders in the way he always did when he wanted to look indifferent but just didn't want to say something related to his feelings.
"Kim Seungmin." Minho put his hand over the others.
The younger smiled and interlocked his fingers with him. "Hyung, but now it's right, isn't it? You said you were over him. Would you give me a chance now?"
Minho slowly took his hand from the other. "Seungmin. I--"
His friend smiled sadly at him. "Just think about it."
And indeed it was all Minho could think about it all day. If maybe Han wouldn't have confessed, he wasn't sure he would have confessed to the younger. Would he have fallen out of love? Would he have dated Seungmin?
"Hyung? Do you want to see Friends with Benefits with me?"
Minho got out of his head as he looked at Jisung. The taller one had his computer on one hand as he chewed on his lower lip looking at the other dubiously.
Minho scooted over in the bed. "Well, I can't really say no to Timberlake can I?"
Han gave little jumps around and finished preparing for the movie finally setting next to him.
After a while the younger paused the movie. "You know I don't think this movie is really the kid of movie you start reflecting midmovie. What are you thinking about?"
Rubbing his face, he answered softly. "Today Seungmin told me he used to like me."
Ah. So he did. Jisung couldn't help but to sit up with that. "Why did he tell you?"
Minho looked at him feeling his slaw go down. "You knew about it?"
He couldn't help the accusation tone he said that with. Jisung knew their friend liked him when they were dating and he never said anything? Was Seungmin hurting and he knew and told no one?
Of course, Jisung knew about it. What Minho didn't know was that it was the reason he had the courage to confess. Minho and Seungmin were perfect for each other, both smarter than the rest, tsundere-like personalities, perfectionists, shared the same kind of humor and even were proud of their own talent and abilities. Jisung was just Jisung. He was anxious, needed constant reassurance, didn't like the hurting humorlike things the older said at time, he was just so different to him. If... Jisung knew alright.
"Yeah. But why did he confess now? Does he want you to date now that I'm out of the picture?" He scoffed.
Minho stilled. That was exactly what happened. Han closed the laptop and moved it to the bed night table.
"You don't even go well together. You barely know each other outside of your insult matches." He felt the bitterness in his voice. Of course, the two were perfect for each other.
The older scoffed as he rolled his eyes. "And who goes well with me, Jisung? Who knows me well? You?"
The silence stretched for a couple of minutes and Minho felt shit about fighting with Jisung over that. He was still thinking of he should apologize when he felt a warm hand cradling his face.
"I know your jaw, your tall nose, how your ears turn red when you're embarrassed, the way that you start batting your eyelashes faster when you are nervous like right now. Am I making you nervous, hyung?"
He felt his heart trying to escape the ribcage, his breath shattered and his thoughts muddled. Is this how he was going to die? Death by Han Jisung, what an amazing death to have.
He locked eyes with Han, and the other night have found the answer he was looking for in them since he started moving his hands downwards.
His breath hitched as Jisung's hands went lower teasing his waist. The younger started giving open mouth kisses ravishing his neck only stopping to take his shirt off.
He ate the view thirsty for the body that once was his. He took his shirt off as well and Jisung went back kissing his whole body. His warmth soon found one of his nipples as he manhandled the other, Minho small whines and whimpers thunders in the small room.
Clothes were disregarded, their bodies desperate for each other, the noises only getting more and more lewd as they seeked their climax. Han moved and faster his hand around their cocks and came first whimpering the older's name. The other soon followed.
They catched their breaths for a few minutes before Minho pressed Jisung under him. "Now's my turn, Sungie."
He climbed down the bed before getting some lube packets from the nightstand, don't even bothering to close the drawers back.
"Open up."
Jisung obeyed taking the opportunity to watch the other openly. He had missed seeing him loose his sharp composure like this. He closed his eyes and groaned when the first digit went up in his ass.
The older soon added a second finger and started stretching the hole well as he kissed Han eating all his little sounds.
Minho added a third finger and marked the chest of the other, a lovebite after another.
"Hands." Jisung gave him his hands and let Minho hold them over the younger's head pining him on the bed.
As he bottomed out he shamelessly repeated the name of the other. Like a kind of mantra, he repeated the name of his lover.
Minho came inside Jisung. He came faster than he would like but the other saying his name in such a sinful way was too erotic. He winced with the oversensitivity as he took his dick out the glorious warm hole of the younger. He saw the hole clench and unclench empty trying to find his cock as a bit of semen dripped from it.
"Suck me up, make me finish." Minho immediately agreed and started sucking him. His tongue lavishly sucking the precum on his dick, his right hand playing with his balls.
"I am. I go well with you. Look at you, your mouth was made to suck me." Han gripped the older's hair. "I know every centimeter of you. Only me."
Minho groaned loving the possessiveness in the other's voice. He nodded as he bopped the younger dick in his mouth. He moved his right hand to grip the thighs trying to reach more.
When the younger came, he moved so the cum would hit his face and chest, remembering how the younger loved watching it.
"You. I'm yours. Only yours." Minho smiled at him and Jisung groaned.
"Hyung, you're killing me."
After a couple minutes, they went to shower together. There was no heater system but the shower had an electric head that heated water.
They scrubbed each other softly cleaning themselves and stealing small kisses whenever they could. On that Wednesday night, they cuddled together and fell asleep.
Jisung woke up freezing up, his teeth clattered as he kicked the older. "Lee Minho, you asshole, leave some blankets for me."
Minho groaned and pouted with his eyes still closed. "Don't be mean, come here. I'll give you my body heat." He hugged the other tightly dragging him against his body.
Hannie giggled and turned over so he could see the other's face. He smiled and slept again.
When they woke up it was already eleven so they decided to go out since they didn't have to meet their other friends until four.
As Minho showered, Han wondered what the precious night would mean for them. Were they back together? Would they at least be friends? Would they be friends with benefits?! He wanted to be more than just friends, but he was still hurt. He was afraid of hurting again so he couldn't just ask the older if he wanted to date again when Minho was the one who had ended things.
When the older finished showering, he came out with only one towel covering him. "Han Jisung, you beast. I look like I had a fight with a wild animal."
The accused scoffed. "Not for nothing, they call me A Tiger In The Sheets."
Minho laughed heartily. "Nobody call you that, love. But it is true you are a wild animal. A wild rabid squirrel. Aaaah! Assassination Attempt! Murderer! That could have killed me!"
"Death for offending the king is legal in my kingdom. You must die, Lee Minho." Han laughed maniacally as he threw him another pillow.
They ended up eating Paninis in a close local restaurant and met quickly Changbin, Seungmin, Jeongin and Hyunjin to prepare for the bach night for their friends.
Jeongin and Minho went to get the food, while the other stayed to fix everything up. At some point, the two youngest decided that their activity of fixing the decorations included a Don't Drop The Balloon and had been at least ten minutes playing the game. Changbin and Han were left to do a quick cleaning of the local and to do the DJ playlists for the night.
"So... Minho hyung. You don't seem really affected by that."
Han stilled for a second before adding another Olivia Rodrigo song. "Yeah, it hasn't been too bad."
Changbin inserted a couple of cables in the speaker before asking him something. "I'm sorry if I'm overstepping but I always wondered how did you two even broke up?"
"A fight." Han reclined on the chair looking at the ceiling. "It was a dumb fight. I don't even remember what it was about, probably one of those daily fights, because at that point we had daily fights. Maybe about schedules or being late or never being home. He just straight up told me we should not be in a relationship."
"Oh, Jisung. I'm sorry."
After Jeongin popped accidentally the balloon they were playing with, Seungmin came to bother them. Han remember the conversation he had yesterday with Minho and thought that maybe he could talk with Seungmin about it.
"Seungmin, can we talk for a minute?"
The younger nodded as he added Shoot Me in the playlist. "Sure, hit me up."
"Alone, Seungmin."
He added Zombie to the playlist before looking at him and then at Changbin. "Whatever you tell me, I will end up telling him so you can just say it right now."
"Do you ... Umm." Han stuttered, suddenly shy. What would they think of him asking him that question? "Do you still really like Minho? I mean during all these years?"
Glancing at Changbin first, Seungmin got away from the computer and grabbed Jisung's arms. "God, no, Jisung. I don't like Minho. As soon as you guys started dating my crush on him died. What kind of friend you think I am?"
"Then did Minho lie yesterday? He said you told him you liked him and for him to consider dating you?"
Seungmin choked on his own saliva and dodged Changbin's slap on his arm.
"For fuck's sake, Seungmin. You told me you wouldn't interfere. Telling him to date you? Are you that obsessed with them?"
"Changbin, babe, wait." He kept dodging the older's hands. "I just wanted to test a theory and see it worked."
Han was rooted to his position.
"Babe? Interfere? Theory? What are you guys talking about?"
Changbin rolled his eyes and hugged Seungmin's waist. "Seungmin doesn't like Minho. We are dating, Sung, just don't tell anyone for now. He just keeps telling me that we should make you guys date again."
Seungmin giggled. "And it worked! You owe me $100, bitch. I told him that telling Minho hyung that I liked him would make him realize that he was still not over you and for you two to get back. Since he obviously told you of my advances, you are probably dating again."
Pushing his boyfriend away, Changbin whined. "I don't owe you shit. I told you to not interfere, Seungmin."
Jisung blushed. "Well something happened but we are not dating again. We just... Yeah. We really didn't talk that much."
His friends fake gagged at that complaining about not needing to hear about his sex life.
Glaring at them he told them about how much he hated them, specially Seungmin.
"No, you don't." The younger poked his cheek and hugged him. In a whisper he added, "it will all work out between you and hyung. Anyone can see that you two still love each other."
They finished setting the music before starting to play with their other friends. When Hyunjin and Minho came back they saw their four friends fighting on whose fault it was for the balloon to fall after one hour of playing.
Hyunjin joked about it being Changbin's fault since everything always ends up being his fault screaming when he the older started chasing after him.
After having dinner together and celebrating it with their families. The two soon to be husbands went to the club with their friends.
The other six reserved a table and squandered around dancing with strangers while the couple stayed in the table. After a couple of dances, Minho returned to the table smiling at the enamoured looks his friends were giving each other. Ah, young love. With that thought in mind he searched for Jisung with his eyes.
His ex was on the dance floor dancing with a blonde surfing guy that looked like a gym addict. Fucking Australia and their fucking good genes. The ugly feeling in the pit of his stomach made him sober immediately and he sat down downing one of the drinks in the table in a single shot.
The two lovebirds separated from each other and started caring for him seeing where his eyes were glaring at. Chan rubbed his back, "Oh, Minho. You still like him? Don't you?"
He groaned noncommittally and asked for another beer to the private server.
Changbin approached the table sitting in front of Minho and scolded him for being drunk so early in the night even though it was probably one by the time. Felix glared at him and explained that he was just heart broken.
Changbin scoffed. "Well, you should have thought you would miss him when you broke up with him."
Minho groaned and mumbled a denial. He hadn't break up with his ex-boyfriend. He got up shaking Chan's hand off and glared at his friend when he asked him if he was sure Han had been the one that had broken everything.
"Of course. Do you think I would ever been able to break up with him? I realized I was in love with him since I was fifteen, I don't know since when I've loved him. He is everything I ever wanted. For fuck's sake, I still have the ring I was going to... I was planning on marrying him."
Changbin glanced at Jisung and then at Minho. "Well. I think you should start by explaining how you guys broke up. Because I'm a little lost over here."
Minho took Changbin's beer and started telling his side of the story. "We were fighting one day about me not having enough time for our relationship. We had already fought the same topic the day before but that time was different because he thought it was funny to make the comparison with cheating. He said I was cheating on him with my master thesis. That I was in love with my career so much that I wasn't in love with him anymore. So I got mad."
Felix chirped in with an obviously. He would have gotten hurt if Chan said that to him as well. The older thanked him and continued.
"We started screaming at that point and he threw me the cushions but one hit a glass, which was plastic nothing broke but it calmed him down. We just stood there without speaking for like three or five minutes and then he told me that he didn't won't in a relationship where he had to fight everyday for the same thing. And I... I agreed with him. I didn't want to hurt him any longer. He deserves better than me. I always knew that, and he knew that too at the end. I guess it was only time before he knew. But fuck I thought that maybe this trip... I thought that maybe we could...That he could just take me back."
He looked up expecting at least a look of warmth, sadness, even pity, he couldn't understand why Changbin was glaring at the dance floor. Changbin looked back at him and the glare intensified. "You are both idiots! Jisung told me you broke up with him. He sincerely thinks you broke with him that day, hyung. He has been waiting for you to ask him out again. Just solve whatever this bullshit is and ask him what he thinks happened during that fight."
Felix took the beer away from his hand and smiled. "Hey, you still have time to be each other's plus one during our wedding tomorrow. Go get your man."
Minho got up and looked for Han. He was a little dizzy with how much he had drank during all the night but he felt himself sobering up when he was in front of his ex-boyfriend and the stranger who was dancing with him.
He tapped the guy's shoulder and asked him to move.
"Fuck off dude. We are dancing right now get another guy."
Minho clicked his tongue and leveled him with a glare. "Let him choose. Go on, Sungie. Who do you want to dance with?"
Jisung stepped out of the other guy's embrace and the stranger left throwing insults to both of them.
The older grabbed the other's waist and started swaying softly to the beat of a Pitbull song. Han laughed at the contrast before getting closer and resting his head on his ex-boyfriend's shoulder. "Jagiya, are you jealous?"
When he stilled, Jisung started overthinking everything. Did he did wrong by calling him jagiya? Maybe yesterday meant nothing to Minho. Maybe it was a what happens in Australia, stays in Australia kind of event.
His nerves quieted down when he felt a kiss on top of his head. "Of course I'm jealous. Another guy was dancing with my man."
He kissed his head again and held him tighter. "Please, let me come back again."
Jisung stepped back and took him by the hand outside where their breaths mist clouds in the cold night, and the streetlights creating soft shadows in a yellowish tint.
"You are drunk." The younger accused him. "You don't know what you are asking from me. You want me to date you again? Will you break my heart again, hyung? Because I don't think I can handle breaking up with you ever again."
Minho looked at him lovingly before holding him in a warm embrace again. "I'm not drunk enough for it to matter. I love you and this is why I'm asking you again. Please, Han Jisung, please let me be the only one that gets to hold you and whisper sweet nothings, please let me be the one you tell every single one of you fun animal facts, the one that holds your hands in cold nights like this, the only who gets to see you fall asleep and wake up. Be my boyfriend again."
"I love you too, boyfriend." He crashed his lip against the older, the tears of both merging together as they fell in between them.
Bonus:
The wedding was even more perfect than what they could have ever thought. Taking lots of pictures with all the guests and just celebratimg the love of their two best friends. However, maybe for Jisung and Minho the best part was the reception.
The wedding after party was filled with dances and touches from the two lovers. When they decided to finally eat Minho popped the question that had been bothering him from the day before. "Hannie, what did Changbin mean by the way? Why did you told him that I broke up with you?"
Jisung just looked at him weirdly before stealing another olive from the older's plate. "Because you broke up with me?"
Minho sighed and just placed all his olives in the younger's plate. He looked back at him frowning. "No, I didn't. You broke up with me. It's okay though. It's like Seungmin said once, isn't it? I can't live without you but you can live without me."
Han grabbed the older's chin and glared at him. "A life without you at my side isn't living, it's just surviving." He moved his hand slowly to hold his cheek, the older unconsciously resting against it. "And you are the one who said that we shouldn't date."
Minho grabbed the other's wrist. "Only because you said you wouldn't date me. You said you wouldn't be in a relationship where you fight over and over again. For us to stop the relationship."
Looking horrified at him, the younger realized that his words could've have been seen as that.
Back then he should have maybe rehearsed better in the mirror before Minho came home because that wasn't the idea he had planned at all.
"I mean we should have stopped the fights not the relationship, you idiot. Oh my God!"
The two looked at each in wonder before choking on their laughs. None of them had meant to end the relationship.
"Does this mean I owe you an anniversary gift?"
" Hmm. I'll let you off but you better give me a good gift for my birthday next week, hyung. What will you give me?" He teased back.
Minho looked back at the grooms dancing with each other in the dance floor. The both of them were looking at each other with such love and he was jealous of it. Not because he wasn't happy with Jisung but because he had planned his wedding with him even before the other couple had even met.
Swirling his drink, he looked back at his boyfriend. "What about the ring?"
