Chapter Text
It had been several months since Morgana first met Teddie, there was a longing, an instinct to search for him again. However, Morgana simply thought that he was incredibly inferior to him. He drowned himself in his feelings and his desire to become human. He knew that he only wanted to be human so he could be with Teddie as equals. Ryuji didn’t help, being all up in his face half the time.
Sure, Lady Ann was a great person! She was kind and was cute, a beautiful model. However, she wasn’t Teddie. She could never be what Teddie was to him.
Morgana practically stormed through Maruki’s palace with Joker and Violet by his side. He didn’t care to mention Crow, not like he mattered to him. It was only Teddie that he was thinking of. He couldn’t catch up to him, he couldn’t even grow his own human body to score with him. (as he would say)
He knew that Akira could never accept this reality. Neither would Akechi or Yoshizawa-san, the perfect reality with Teddie was out of reach to him. He could only imagine being human. He could only imagine being with Teddie for the rest of his days.
Even if he took the long trip back to Inaba, Teddie wouldn’t like him. He couldn’t get him out of his mind for just a second. If only there was a reality where Teddie liked him.
He snapped out of his trance once they returned to the real world. Greeted by being picked up by the arms by an eager Futaba. “Hey! Let me go!” he retaliated.
“No can do Mona, you’ve been quiet ever since we watched Maruki’s strange cassette tapes of his memories.”
Morgana had already accepted his fate. He wouldn’t see Teddie again. That and he was being hugged tightly by Futaba. Her wrath was ready to pull the trigger.
“Awwe.. Is the little kitty troubled?” He heard Akira say from behind.
“I am not a cat!”
At least he didn’t want to be “just a cat”
not to Teddie.
“Oh no, this again..” Futaba laments “You weren’t just a few hours ago!”
He wasn’t even good enough to be a Phantom Thief. He was so mad at himself! He repeated what happened a few months back..
“You were all fine with being a cat back then! What’s ruffled your fur in the wrong direction?”
It's not like they would understand anything about what was going on with Teddie. His emotions were only a whim, a burst of love. To be honest he didn't know what triggered his interest back to Teddie. He could tell everyone was looking at him expectantly. All he could do is take the wheel and drive this conversation to a different, less embarrassing subject. "It's nothing, I was just thinking. We're going to go try to reach the treasure room next time, right?" He desperately tried.
He wasn't listening to what they were saying at that time, he was too busy trying to navigate his thoughts. He decided to talk to Akira about it later, his attempt didn't go out in vain as the Thieving Troupe brushed it off. He was a bit worried if they even cared about him, but that wasn't the main issue here. It was Teddie, the only thing that mattered to him during this time.
As Akira slowly drifted away from the group after sharing a few words with Akechi, Futaba let him go. “We can talk about this when we return, Akira. I have a favour for you.” Morgana asked.
It was a mostly silent walk back to Leblanc, with a bit of nervousness in Futaba’s steps. She was probably worried about Maruki and the reality distortion. Once they had arrived, Boss had already was out back to his house. Realizing this, Futaba fled back to her home. Great! Now that they were isolated together, he could spit out all his feelings and beg him to call Narukami!
Taking careful, creaky steps up to the attic of Leblanc he took notice to the Risette Poster. Placing himself comfortably on top of Akira’s “Bed” which stayed the same since the start of his probation. “All right Mona, spill the beans. It has to do with your wish and Maruki’s reality, correct?” Akira broke the ice before he had the chance to say anything.
