Chapter Text
“Do you take Porsche Pachara Kittisawat as your lawful spouse?”
Kinn’s jaw clenched at that, then he reminded himself why he was doing this.
“I fucking do.”
Or where the only solution to bloodshed, violence and disaster between the two mafia clans, is simple. An arranged marriage.
____________
Kinn thinks of all the choices he made in his life that led him to this point. Standing here, in a black suit in front of his worst enemy in a contrasting white suit. He was supposed to have a gun in his hand, not a fucking ring.
“Khun Kinn khab.” One of his bodyguards say, but the voice was too far. His eyes were locked onto the Kittisawat heir’s sharp eyes, who was staring back with equal hatred and poison.
“People are waiting.” Kinn vaguely recognized his friend Time’s voice.
Fuck it, here goes everything.
With a tight grip, borderline painful, Kinn grabbed Porsche’s hand and thrusted the enormous diamond ring on his finger with such force, it was bound to leave a mark.
People clapped around them, as Porsche grabbed his hand and slipped his own ring on Kinn’s finger, surprisingly much gentler than he was.
Their fingers lingered over each other and Kinn felt a strange sensation in his gut. Their eyes met again, and for a moment all he could see and hear was this man here, who will be his very soon.
Even though this marriage was nothing but a compromise, a pitiful attempt to unite the two mafia clans, the arrangements made it look like two lovebirds having their dream wedding. It was pathetic to Kinn, he wanted to throw up or pass out, or maybe both if he could avoid this situation.
Their wrists were tied together by some holy thread, he didn’t even know the purpose of. The monk said some things which fell on deaf ears, he was more interested in what he was gonna have for dinner tonight, rather than this sorrowful ceremony.
“I do.”
Kinn almost jumped at the voice next to him, until he realized what that meant. Porsche was looking at him with a steady gaze, fuck he had affirmed his consent to their marriage. Which meant….
“Anakinn Theerapanyakun, do you take…..”
“I fucking do.” He spat.
He didn’t want their names to be announced in the same sentence. It was already disgusting, as it was.
For this, Kinn received a look from his father as well as Porsche’s uncle, the majors of their respective clans. He didn’t give the slightest fuck, rolling his eyes at them.
“You are now each other’s. May you make as many merits together in this life, so you meet each other again in the next.”
Kinn closed his eyes briefly, registering what the fuck just happened. He had sacrificed his life and freedom. The price he had to pay for a family he didn’t choose.
When his and Porsche’s wrists were released from the thread, he immediately left to the bar, gulping down an entire glass of whiskey in one go. He looked around to see everyone was having fun, at the expense of his damned life.
There was music, food, drinks and an after party celebration. He sat in the same corner, attempting to drink down his sorrows.
He suddenly missed his mother terribly. If she was here, the situation hadn’t gone so bad that he had to do this. Marry a man he hated, and was expected to spend his entire life with him.
“Kinn, what are you doing here? You left Porsche there all alone, don’t be an ass.”
He looked up, wiping his eyes to find his older brother Tankhun urging him to get up. That crazy bastard, Kinn was positive he was pretending to be crazy all along just because he didn’t want to take over the clan. Good for him, coz it worked. He wasn’t the one being sacrificed.
“Let’s call it a night, everyone. Thank you for joining us tonight, my son and son in law are really happy, but we should let them rest.” His dad said to the guests, who chuckled and left one by one.
Happiness. What a fucking joke.
Kinn stumbled his way to the house. His head was spinning, he felt like dying on the spot. As he reached the entrance, he sobered up a little at the sight of Porsche standing there, conversing with his bodyguard Pete and his husband Vegas, who was also his cousin.
His blood stirred at the sight, how dare he act friendly like he wasn’t the one having a fucking gunfight the last time they met.
His presence was immediately noticed as Vegas stepped back, holding his son Venice in his hands. It was then Kinn noticed that Porsche was most likely playing with the child, rather than converse with them.
“Hey.” Vegas greeted him, balancing Venice on his hip. “Congratulations man, sorry Venice was crying earlier, I had to leave for a bit.”
“Well, it’s not like you missed anything important.” Kinn said, making sure his words did bite.
Pete glanced between them awkwardly before taking Vegas’s hand. “Goodnight, Khun Kinn. Once again, congratulations to you.”
Pete literally dragged his husband and son away to the safety of their room. Kinn desperately wished he could do the same, but then realized he had to do what he was expected to.
With the fire reigniting within him, he grabbed Porsche’s hand who was startled at the sudden touch. Ignoring his reaction, Kinn dragged him to his room, wait, their room now. The thought gave him more anger, he had to share his beloved private space with this stupid guy.
As soon as they were in, he slammed the door shut and pressed Porsche against it, getting some sort of satisfaction at the panicked look in his eyes. He grabbed his wrists, pinning them as he stood in front of Porsche, killing him with his eyes.
Porsche flinched as Kinn leaned closer, his alcoholic breath making him look away but Kinn grabbed his neck, forcing him to look him in the eye.
“What did you say last time? Huh?” Kinn was fuming whenever that scene flashes across his head. “Look at you now.”
Kinn suddenly laughs, no humor in his voice. “The Phoenix can never be caught. But here you are, at my mercy. ” He gripped his chin, noticing the freckle on his upper lip. Was it always there on his face?
Porsche pushed him hard, glaring at him. “If you think you’ve won, you’re clearly the biggest fool in the world. You’re stuck in this as much as me, fucking bastard.” Porsche looks him up and down, before casually walking in the room, sitting down on Kinn’s bed.
Kinn knew it was an obvious attempt to spike it, and oh god how it rubbed him the wrong way.
With two quick strides he moved toward the bed, he enclosed the distance and pushed Porsche down on the bed, snarling at him in aggression. “Oh, I know I am. And you’re gonna pay the price for that, dear husband.”
Kinn lunged at his throat again, desperate to beat him up or at best choke him to death, saying it was a freak accident.
Porsche struggled for a few moments before he stopped. Kinn frowned as Porsche touched his bicep with a shaky hand, panting for breath. “Kinn.”
Kinn withdrew his hand as if it burned. That definitely wasn’t his enemy’s voice, what the fuck was that?
Porsche gasped and coughed for air. Kinn quickly got off him, too shaken at the look in Porsche’s eyes. Why did he stop? Just few more seconds, and it would’ve been done. Why couldn’t he?
Not sparing him another glance, Kinn went to the bathroom, locking himself in there. He stared at his own reflection, wondering what the hell just happened. To calm himself, he took a shower and changed into sweatpants and a t-shirt from his bathroom closet. He took a deep breath before quietly opening the door.
Thankfully, Porsche seemed asleep, on the same spot of the bed Kinn had left him in. Kinn glared at him for a few seconds, then felt stupid when he realized he couldn’t see it.
Sighing, Kinn went to the couch and laid there, turning his side to get comfortable. Great, now even his bed wasn’t his.
He stared at the family ring on his forefinger, the one which destroyed his childhood. Then at the wedding ring on his fourth, which will destroy the rest of his life. He cursed his fate for some more time, before he passed out from all the stress and sadness.
Maybe Porsche was right when he had said he was a bastard who deserved nothing.
