Chapter Text
When Spider-Man’s secret identity was outed to the public, he tried to reverse the damage using a spell called the Runes of Kof-Kol. But it was not to be. The spell went haywire, and had to be contained within a relic known as the Macchina di Kadavus. Even this was not to last. The relic was destroyed, and in order to save the multiverse, Peter Parker had no choice but to erase all memory of his existence.
THIS IS THE WAY THINGS ARE:
- Vulture was caught and thrown in jail after his wingsuit mysteriously malfunctioned, nearly killing him. It was a miracle that he survived at all.
- Mysterio stopped a Stark satellite loaded with drones from taking over New York. Tragically, he was killed in the conflict. There was no one else with him.
- Michelle Jones-Watson and Ned Leeds did not have any friends in high school. But they sat at the same lunch table, so eventually they became each other’s friends.
- May Parker never raised any children. She dedicated her life to helping the impoverished by working for FEAST (Food, Emergency Aid, Shelter, & Training). She was killed in an accident involving a villain from another universe.
- Spider-Man’s first appearance was at the Statue of Liberty, where he helped Doctor Strange return a series of multiversal interlopers to their homes.
- Spider-Man never fought Thanos, or joined the Avengers, or fought alongside Iron Man after the Sokovia Accords. He simply wasn’t around at the time.
For the denizens of Earth-616, the true version of events is forever lost. But we are outsiders, looking in. We suffer no such restriction.
We can tell you what happened next.
The story starts—and ends—with a song.
