Chapter Text
Porsche is so done. It has only been ten minutes yet he is tempted to just quit.
The Lerttravinonts are hosting a grand gala tonight to commemorate the opening of another hotel and because Kinn is Tay’s best friend, his presence is crucial. Not just that but both their families have been allies for a very long time, it just wouldn’t look good if the Theerapanyakun’s Head Alpha doesn’t show up as a sign of support.
As the Head Omega and Kinn’s mate, he also has to be there. His lover had said this was a good opportunity to announce their relationship and declare his position in the family. Now, Porsche would do anything for his Alpha, but if he has to try on another gaudy ensemble in this godforsaken closet, he’s going to burn this place to the ground.
Sensing his mate’s souring mood and growing irritation, Kinn was quick to wave away the stylists–he likes his closet intact, thank you very much. Plus, an aggravated Porsche was trouble he was not willing to endure.
“Baby?”
“Are we done?” He snapped.
Kinn sighed loudly. He knew his Omega hated the fancy people getup and unnecessary extravagance. Personally, he was also tired because there wasn’t one outfit here that matched. Don’t get him wrong, Porsche looks good in anything, everything, and especially nothing but tonight, in particular, he wanted his mate to look otherworldly.
It was a big night for them and he wanted it to be perfect.
And apparently perfect came in the form of Tankhun.
The older Omega breezed into the closet after the stylists left not even five minutes ago. “Hello, my darling little brothers,” he greeted them with a flourish and rubbed his head affectionately against his mate’s, something they’ve both taken to doing as a form of comfort and casual greetings.
He grinned fondly when he saw the small smile on his Omega’s face, relieved that he was no longer agitated but also found this display of familial tenderness very cute. The three brothers weren’t affectionate, how can they be with the lives they lead? And he knows how much of a toll that takes on Tankhun, having to deprive his Omegan needs because this environment was too unaccommodating to the softness he craves. But now with the appearance of a Head Omega, and one as naturally touchy as Porsche, Tankhun was flourishing and elated to finally have someone to dote on.
“How can I help you, hia?”
“Well, seeing as the event is starting soon and the pair of you aren’t dressed, I figured I would impart some wisdom. Exercise my fashionable expertise, if you will.”
“Phi, I’m not wearing a feather boa or sequined coat.” Porsche’s words earned him a light cuff to the head, which he just cackled at.
“Tasteless! But no, dear, there will be no feather boa or sequined coats. I’ve already arranged the outfits.” He turns back to the entrance of the closet and shouts, “Boys, bring the clothes in!”
Redirecting his attention back to the couple once the wrapped clothes were delivered, he said, “Try them on and let me know if you love them or not. Actually, no need. I know they’re good.”
Then he sashays out of the room with the rest of his bodyguards, hot on his trail.
Porsche and Kinn watched him leave and moved to comply. But not before sharing a laugh about how ridiculous he was.
—
It only took them a few minutes to figure it out. They decided to get dressed privately, as to surprise each other.
Porsche faltered in his steps as he walked out of the bathroom. Kinn was already standing near the floor-to-ceiling windows, dressed in a slate blue suit with his signature top buttons undone to show a sculpted chest that Porsche would very much like to lick right this second.
The Head Alpha’s reaction was similar to his mate’s. His very beautiful mate, who is dressed in a suit with an exact cut as his but in olive green.
The earth to his sky. A representation of harmony. It was perfect, Tankhun was right.
“Can we skip the party so I can lay you on our bed now?” He whispered and held out his hand.
Porsche lets out a delighted, tinkling laugh as he allowed himself to be brought into a loose embrace. “Khun Kinn, we can’t ignore duty now, can we? Who told me our attendance was a must?”
Kinn groaned at his brat’s teasing. The Omega knew exactly what kind of effect he has on him and he wields it easily.
Tugging him closer into his arms, the Alpha nosed at his mate’s neck and growls, “Do not test me, sweetheart. I’m not above being late to this party in favor of fucking you through our bed right now.”
And he meant it. Every fiber of his being is trembling with strained control to not strip his mate until he’s wearing nothing but his hot caramel skin then ravish him to the bones.
Porsche clicks his tongue in amusement. He has such a horny mate, but he wouldn’t change him for anything. “This is your friend’s party, my love. We can’t be late and you know it.”
He couldn’t help the giggle that escaped his mouth when he saw the disgruntled expression on his mate’s handsome face. Leaning in, he whispered low and seductive, “If you can get through this evening for at least two and a half hours, I’ll show you another surprise.”
With smug satisfaction and a brief tingle down his spine, he watched the pupil of Kinn’s eyes dilate and hunger sweep through them.
“Fine,” the older grounds out, scowling as his tease of an Omega leads them out. But the displeased pretense doesn’t last long when all he could hear was Porsche’s melodious laugh.
—
It was a surprise to see Tankhun in the car. And it only escalates when he tells them the rest of their family, excluding his father, will join. His family rarely attend these parties, normally his attendance alone was enough.
When he had asked for a reason why, his brother had simply shrugged. “This is Porsche’s first introduction to the domain of the elites, aka the lion’s den. We all wish to show him support.”
The younger Omega felt his heart warm at his brother-in-law’s words. Truthfully, he was also worried about what the night entails. He knew Kinn would protect him and stand up for him if someone says something out of line. But that’s the thing. Porsche knew that can’t be a permanent dynamic–every time something happens to Porsche and his mate has to intervene, he just can’t let it happen. It’s not within his principle to let someone else defend him when he’s capable of learning to do so himself.
The Omega was a fighter, on and off the battlefield. Born and raised in the concrete jungle of Bangkok, he’s a survivor. He has fought for years to keep himself and his brother afloat. And this is no different.
The circumstances may have changed but the rule remains the same: only the strongest prevails. So it was a must that he transforms himself into the Head Omega worthy of standing by Kinn’s side. This city will see his mate and submit, he’ll make sure of it.
Having a goal made it easier for him to concentrate but in the back of his mind, he was still apprehensive that something will happen tonight and he will ruin everything before it even begins. These ill thoughts were put at ease when he learned of Tankhun’s and the rest of their family’s involvement tonight.
With them by his side, he felt more assured.
The rest of the car ride went easily. Tankhun was the life of the party and therefore, there was never a dull moment with him.
When they pulled up to the front of the hotel, Porsche was surprised to see paparazzi cramming at the gate. Rich people , he snorted in his head.
The mafia family stepped out of their fancy vehicles with grace and assembled flawlessly at the foot of the red-carpeted stairs, their bodyguards falling into a perfect formation at all sides.
Porsche felt a flicker of pride as he observed their movements. He had taught them well.
His Alpha offered him his arm. The Omega took a steadying breath and steeled himself.
Once he accepts the proffered arm, the couple led their family up the stairs and through a sea of flashing lights.
The hotel was stunning as expected of a high-profile hotelier like the Lerttravinonts. Tall ceilings, shining lights encased in crystals, and twinkling tiny jewels–it was the image of opulence and wealth. Porsche almost recoiled from touching the marble banisters on his way to the door.
The interior was just as gorgeous and, from an artist’s point of view, all very pleasing.
Porsche gripped his mate’s arm tightly and puts on his mask, crafted to correspond with Kinn’s polite and faux-friendly one. Together, they stepped foot into what is probably the most elaborate yet bloodiest battleground in creation.
—
The rest of the night was rather peaceful. The Theerapanyakuns and Chay chose to stay close to their Head Omega, a visible symbol of their loyalty and protection for their leader and sibling. Only Vegas ventured from their reach with Pete by his side, but even they never strayed too far.
Of course, some people couldn’t keep their opinions to themselves still, mostly the old and uptight ones. They were swiftly dealt with and usually depart the scene, humiliated and shamed for their words.
All in all, it was going well. Too well. Naturally, because it was going so smoothly, shit has to hit the fan eventually.
Kinn was in the middle of talking to Tay and Time, wishing to catch up with his best friends after a short separation when the couple had gone on vacation when he realized his mate was missing.
His friends noticed his confusion when he stopped mid-sentence, jerking around to find Porsche. Where had his curious Omega wandered off to?
“What’s wrong, Kinn?” Tay asked worriedly as Kinn grew more frazzled and anxious.
“Porsche,” was all he could manage but they understood immediately. This was a new surrounding for the absent male, it could be dangerous. There wasn’t a single person here who doesn’t have blood on their hands, an unsuspecting Omega like Porsche could easily get eaten alive in these shark-infested waters.
The family was quickly notified of his status and as quietly as possible, they all dispersed to find him.
Their efforts were fruitless and Kinn could feel the panic settle into him like a heavy blanket, threatening to snuff out his breath. Regret pulsated through him at the idea of his precious Omega alone somewhere, disconcerted and lost without him.
It was his fault. He brought Porsche here and now he’s missing. The extended absence of his partner opened a flood gate in his brain, allowing a torrent of vile thoughts to spill out. What if he had been kidnapped? These kinds of events were usually the perfect traps to ensnare people of power. There’s a roomful of them and all have a hidden agenda, so it wouldn’t be completely impossible.
Kinn started spiraling, almost collapsing if not for Vegas reaching out and grabbing a hold of his shoulders. “Cousin,” he grunted in alarm as he bore his weight, turning them away from prying eyes. There was worry painted on his face, Kinn thinks. He isn’t quite sure, his vision was beginning to blur.
A desperate cry was pushing to break free but he has to compose himself. This was not the place nor the time to be vulnerable. There were circling predators from all sides and they were waiting to ambush him the moment he showed even a sign of weakening resolve. For his mate, he has to be stronger than this.
Suddenly the chattery noises from the guests were muted by a roar, one of pure distress and rage. Kinn knows that cry.
His mate was in danger.
—
Porsche only wanted to go to the bathroom.
So he had untangled himself out of Kinn’s hold when he was talking to his friends and beelined to the nearest restroom.
Promptly taking care of his business, he moves to leave before an unbearable Alpha scent floods the space, making him wrinkle his nose. What is it with these Alphas and their need to throw their class around frequently? Does it not exhaust them?
But he minds his own business and walks out the door. And that’s when he stumbled into someone.
“Oh, I’m so sorry. Please excuse me.”
He had been polite and apologetic, a picture of perfect grace if he does say so himself.
The Alpha, however, did not excuse him. Instead, he said, “No worries, darling.”
Porsche blinked owlishly at him. It’s just weird when people outside his family call him pet names.
“Ok? Uhh, see you around, I guess.” He has no idea what he’s doing here. Normally, after he says excuse me, people let him through. But this guy was adamant about keeping him there. Porsche could feel his fight or flight instincts kick in as the man cornered him.
“Oh, come now. Let’s talk. I’ve never seen an Omega like you around these affairs. Tell us about yourself.”
There was a very unsettling smile on his face. And then he catches it. “Us?”
The bathroom door behind him opens again and Porsche cursed internally when he felt a second presence at his back. And to make the odds even higher, he could now detect a moving shadow somewhere to his right.
Clenching his jaw to maintain his nerves, he says through gritted teeth, “I will not be doing that and I am now going to leave. Good night to all three of you.”
They were momentarily caught off-guard when he mentioned how many there are. They must’ve assumed he couldn’t sense their hidden third member.
He used that opportunity to push the man in front of him off and walk away, still willing to stay civilized. That was until the one from behind grabbed him by the nape and haul him backward.
Porsche hissed when the Alpha’s dirty hand grazed the mating mark over his scent gland. That was a sacred spot for mated pairs, no one can touch it except their partners. And these bastards just violated that.
His hands came up to the offending limb on his neck and ripped it off, using enough force to have the taller and bigger Alpha stumbling.
The Omega in him raged at the thought of their mating mark soiled by these filthy fuckers. With a battle cry, Porsche threw himself at all three of them, and decorum be damned, for their transgression, he will bathe this whole hallway in their blood.
—
Every Theerapanyakun (plus one Kittisawat) and their bodyguards broke into a run when the noise broke out.
When they arrive at the scene, their eyes widened at the sight of Porsche standing in a pool of blood, the red liquid tainting his clothes and skin. And his scent, a homey mix of cinnamon and whiskey, was sharp and pouring out in waves, a sign of his distress and anger.
There were three bodies laid on the floor, all in varying forms of consciousness and injuries.
Murmurs sprung up among the partygoers. A combination of fear, disgust, and astonishment settled over the lot of them.
Someone was bold enough to spit, “Murderer,” out loud.
And it was Chay–sweet, sunshine-personified Chay–who had turned around and viciously said, “You call him that again and you’ll be joining those three on the floor, understand?”
Ignoring the commotion, Kinn rushed to Porsche’s side, disregarding the bodies and blood entirely. He scanned his mate from top to bottom; eyes and hands roving frantically over his form to detect any wounds. “Are you alright?”
“They touched me.” The Alpha stilled.
And with agonizing sorrow that managed to reach the crowd, he chokes out, “They touched my mark.”
Kinn could feel his blood turn to ice in his veins. He clenched his fingers in barely repressed outrage.
His eyes reddened in his fury as he turned to the body closest to him. The man was still alive, he can see his chest heaving with labored breath, presumably still very pained from whatever assault Porsche inflicted on him.
Good, the bastard deserved it. And he will suffer worse still.
Grabbing the man by the neck, he pressed his thumb and pointer finger into the space below the ears, and right under the jaw, successfully cutting into his air supply.
“I’ve never delighted in the art of death before. But for what you’ve done, for having the audacity to even come near my Omega, I will relish in yours and your friends’ demise.” Chuckling with an almost manic laugh at the way the man had twitched away, he continues but louder this time for the rest of the onlooking crowd to hear, “Let this be a reminder that there are steep consequences to those who dare to lay their hand on my mate. I will gladly rip your bones out one by one or carve you in half for your insolence.”
Then with a sadistic smirk, he stands back up, drops the body like a useless bag of trash, and adds, “That is if there’s anything left of you once my Porsche is done.”
Porsche had shuffled to his side at the mention of his name, leaning into his frame as exhaustion no doubt overtook him now that the adrenaline is wearing off. They silently watched the crowd scatter after the announcement, too intimidated by Kinn’s threat and Porsche’s ferocity.
When it was just their families left, the rest of their group didn’t hesitate to quickly huddle around their Head Omega. They had almost ripped him out of Kinn’s grasp in their haste but a distraught whimper from his mate and a warning growl from the Alpha had them apologizing and restoring Porsche’s original position in his arms.
Chay scents him, Pete helped wipe his bloodied hands, and Tankhun pets his hair as the high leaves him completely, all three Omega desperately initiating physical contact to keep him tethered and barring him from entering an anxiety attack. It was working, thankfully.
Meanwhile, Kim and Vegas surveyed the three men still on the ground. The farthest two were knocked out while the one Kinn had terrorized is regaining strength, but not enough to do any damage.
The cousins shared a look of sick joy as they ruminate on all the possible torture methods they’ll get to employ on these poor fools later.
Their Head Omega was threatened. That was an unforgivable crime and this whole city will learn the price of trifling with the treasured Queen of the Underworld.
