Scott's Freaky Party Trick

Summary:

"Watch this everybody," Jimmy said as he held the apple in both of his hands with his thumbs over the top of it. He then pressed down on the apple and in one fluid motion, Jimmy split it in half with a satisfying snap.

"Woah," Katherine and Gem said simultaneously.

"What else can you do with those hands Jimmy?" Scott asked with a hint of mischief in his voice.

Jimmy's face turned a bright red and he let out a slew of no's while Scott giggled.

"Instead of flustering Jimmy for the umpteenth time, why don't you show us your party trick Smajor?" Pix suggested, to which Jimmy shot the archaeologist a grateful look.

Notes:

I think it's safe to say I have Empires brainrot cuz it got my writer brain in a chokehold fr. Also, as it says in the tags, Scott pops his yellow eye out in this fic. I tagged body horror cuz I wasn't sure what else to describe it as. If that makes you uncomfy, feel free to stop reading here. Stay safe y'all

Work Text:

"Perfect," Scott said as he added the final touches to his party outfit. It was basically his normal attire but with a little more... pizazz. That is if you consider glittery eyeshadow that complimented his heterochromatic eyes, dangly flower earrings, a pair of high heeled boots and a few necklaces he'd collected over his years of adventuring a little more pizazz.

Scott then slid down the ladder from his bedroom into the main area of his house. As he walked to the door he glanced at the clock. Humming lowly when he saw the time. He was running late but you know what they say. You can't rush beauty. Or however the saying goes. Scott exited his house and adjusted his wings. Double checking that he had enough rockets for the trip to Sausage's empire and back. Once he was done with that, the cyanette took off.

It didn't take much flying before Scott could see the familiar landscape of Sanctuary in the distance. With one final rocket to propel him forward, Scott gracefully landed a few feet from the building Sausage specified to show up at. He then dusted himself off and ran a hand through his windswept hair to comb it back into its proper place. After a few moments of doing that, Scott was satisfied and sauntered up to the door. Rapping his knuckles against it a few times. Hopefully it was loud enough to be heard above the music playing inside.

"Scott! There you are!" Sausage greeted as soon as he opened the door, "I was starting to think you wouldn't show."

"You and I both know I'd never miss a party," Scott said.

"True," Sausage said, stepping aside to let Scott in.

The music was definitely louder once inside but not hellishly so. Sausage shut the door behind him as Scott made his way towards where everyone else was gathered.

"Well, well, well," Pix said, "Look who's finally here."

"Aww, did you all miss me that badly?" Scott asked as he joined the group.

"Not really no," Katherine said with a hint of playfulness in her voice.

"You wound me," Scott said, dramatically placing a hand over his heart.

The group of emperors shared a laugh at Scott's theatrics and went back to their previous activities. Scott grabbed a drink from one of the many tables laden with delectable treats and went to mingle. Within the next half an hour he'd spoken with almost everyone and managed to fluster Jimmy nearly five times over. Scott was definitely enjoying himself.

Soon, Sausage turned the music down so that it was more of an ambient background noise. This got the attention of all the rulers. Sausage waited a few moments to ensure everyone's eyes were on him.

"Is everybody having a good time?" Sausage asked, to which he was met with a positive slew of responses, "Good, good. Before the night is over, I've planned a little contest of sorts. And yes there is a prize."

That caused a series of hushed whispers to break out amongst the party goers. There was going to be a contest? Better yet, one with a prize? Now you're talking.

"What kind of contest is it?" Shelby asked, as everyone went to form a circle in the sitting area.

"It's a contest to see who has the best party trick!" Sausage beamed.

"What's the prize?" Joel asked rubbing his hands together eagerly.

"Oh nothing special," Sausage said, "just a few diamonds."

"How many diamonds we talking?" Joey asked, leaning forward in his seat with a greedy glint in his eyes.

"A mere twelve," Sausage answered.

"I'm in!" the other eleven rulers said at once which caused them to laugh.

"Great!" Sausage exclaimed, "Who wants to go first?"

"I'll go first," fWhip volunteered.

The goblin riffled through his inventory for a moment before producing an unlit torch. He held it up for everyone to see before baring his teeth. Everyone looked at him confused but soon became surprised as fWhip struck the tip of the torch against his teeth. A flame now burning bright on the item of wood and coal.

"Pretty impressive, right?" fWhip said with a smirk.

"Oh please," Joey said, "anyone could do that."

"Care to try then?" fWhip asked, producing another unlit torch and holding it out to the pirate.

"On second thought, never mind."

Giggles echoed around the room as Joey sunk into his chair. Trying not to let his embarrassment show but failing.

"I'll go next," False said standing up. She rolled up her sleeves and stretched her fingers briefly. Then, one at a time, she bent all ten of her fingers outside of a normal range of motion for a human. Creating several unnatural angles and showing no signs of pain.

"You're double jointed?" Lizzie asked, amazed and intrigued.

"Yeah but only in my fingers," False replied as she went back to her seat.

"Me next!" Jimmy said excitedly, "Does anyone have an apple?"

"I'll get one," Sausage said before going to retrieve the fruit Jimmy requested.

Once he came back, apple in hand, he tossed it over to Jimmy. The sheriff caught it easily and removed the stem.

"Gladly," Scott said standing up and tucking some of his hair behind his ear. He glanced around the circle of his fellow rulers one by one. A small smile tugging at the corner of his lips. He then held his left eyelid open his left hand and carefully plucked his yellow eye out of its socket with his right.

"Tada!" Scott said, holding his yellow eye in the palm of his hand for everyone to see. There was no blood coming from his now vacant eye socket nor was there any on the eye he just popped out. It also seemed like the cyanette's yellow eye was attached to nothing within his head. Not to mention, Scott had a huge grin plastered on his face despite how much pain he should've been in after removing his eye. It was freaky to say the least.

"How...?" Joel trailed off.

"How did you do that?" Lizzie finished for the god.

"Well," Scott began, "I already told Shelby how I got my eye and it's a long story I don't feel like retelling right now. But basically, my yellow is magical and I can pop it out of the socket whenever I want and it doesn't hurt. Also, I can still move it around and see out of it when it's not in my head. Look!"

The cyanette then glanced around the circle again. His yellow eye followed the same path of motion as his green eye. It was just like he said. The other eleven rulers didn't know if they should be impressed or terrified. Their silence and shocked expressions heavily suggesting the latter.

"Uh... Princess Gem!" Sausage said in order for the contest to continue, "What's your party trick?"

Gem blinked a few times, as if snapping out of a daze, and said, "My party trick? Oh uh... right. Of course."

With everyone's attention now on Gem, Scott laughed quietly to himself and sat down. He then put his yellow eye back where it belonged. Muttering a curse under his breath when he realized it was facing inwards and that he was seeing inside his head. However, that was an easy fix and soon enough his vision was back to normal. The rest of the contest then went by with no other freaky party tricks and only a few uneasy glances at Scott.

Notes:

The reveal that Scott's yellow eye is magical got me thinking of what else he could possibly do with it and BOOM! This idea was born. I want it to be canon so badly and I'm sure I'm not the only one who shares that sentiment cuz like- that would be so cool!

Have a good rest of your day/night!
