Work Text:
Gregory drags his feet as he enters Glamrock Row with a yawn, the pizza plex was so big.. and sneaking in had taken more effort than he’d originally thought.
Stretching his arms and yawning again, Gregory slowly makes his way down Glamrock Row in search of a comfortable place to sleep.
Trudging down the hall Gregory picks up speed when he sees a vibrant pink door, quickly peeking in the window. No one’s there.
The pink door Gregory enters leads to a hot pink room on the other side with pizza boxes scattered all over the floor. He stares at one with a whole untouched pizza in it and takes a slice, nibbling on it. It’s stale, but he eats it anyway before he further investigates the room more awake than he was before.
In front of him, beyond the pizza boxes, is the whole reason he’s in here. A Pearl white sofa.
Gregory eagerly hops onto the sofa but yelps when the cushions sink beneath his weight faster than he expected. He flails as he sinks in further, like the sofa is eating him.
“Ugh! Damn it!” He struggles to get his arm up and over the side of one of the sofa arms but when he does he claws at the fabric and hauls himself over.
“Oof!” The hard floor is unforgiving, but it’s better than drowning in pearly sofa cushions. That sofa is definitely not right.
Scowling, Gregory swipes another slice of pizza before leaving the pink room.
Wandering down the hall, Gregory finds a deep green door. He peeks in the window before opening the door when he doesn’t see anyone inside.
He takes one look at the state of this room and immediately feels his face twist into displeasure. The floor is covered in miscellaneous broken objects, busted beyond recognition. The rest of the room looks like someone unleashed a pack of wild dogs in here and let them chew and scratch up anything in sight, but the sofa seems to have taken the brunt of it all with the way he can see stuffing spill out from long gashes in the leather. Not right either. He doesn’t even have to try to know he’s right.
With a huff Gregory moves along to the next room, taking the time to kick over a potted plant on his way out.
This time, the door is purple. Again Gregory peeks in the window before entering.
This room is a lot nicer than the last, with a pleasing color of purple for the walls and a star shaped mirror over the vanity. He doesn’t pay much attention to any of the other decorations in the room beyond that, instead making a beeline for the sofa that’s conveniently right across from the door. It’s a white and blocky thing, which doesn’t set his hopes very high.
Gregory takes a second to test the cushions with a hand —surprisingly firm— before sitting down fully.
This sofa doesn’t have much give and is far stiffer than the sofa in the pink room. Hesitantly, Gregory lays down.
He stretches out. Turns on his side. Kicks the wolf plushies to the floor.
Gregory gives the sofa a nasty glare as he sits up. This one is as hard as a rock! It just isn’t right. He storms out of the room, slamming the door as he goes.
The final door Gregory finds is a cheery red, but already he’s coming to terms with the idea of another terrible sofa before he even enters the room.
When he does enter he’s met with a dimly lit living space, the only light coming from the vanity and the neon signs outside. He doesn’t waste any time getting to the sofa in this room and doesn’t stop to test the cushions before sitting down.
…
Gregory bounces a little in place, the cushions beneath him don’t try to suck him in or stay completely solid under his weight.
He lays back against the giant bear plush next to him and stretches out his legs, kicking off another, smaller, bear plush in the process.
Sighing in relief and turning to curl into the large plush’s side, his exhaustion catching up to him. Gregory lets a smile settle across his face as he decides this sofa is just right. He settles in and finally, after finding the perfect sofa, falls asleep.
—
There is a boy in Freddy’s room.
He’s curled up on the sofa, dead asleep with arms wrapped around a giant fazbear plush as he leans into its side. The boy looks even smaller than he already is when curled into the plush and Freddy feels a strange feeling flutter around in his chest. How odd.
Quietly, he leans down and scans the boy’s face to look for a guest profile only to be met with an error message.
‘Guest Profile not found’.
Huh… well then.
Freddy debates notifying security of a lost child, but taking a closer look he doesn’t think the boy has been well cared for. He’s thin and pale, his hair greasy and with deep bruises under his eyes.
A low growl rumbles from Freddy’s chest. How dare someone neglect a child! Especially one as precious looking as this one.
Freddy’s growling almost turns into a full on snarl before deep brown eyes snap open to stare at him. Immediately both bear and boy are jolting away from one another, Freddy’s growling choking to a stop while the boy shrieks and clutches a fazbear plush in front of him like a makeshift shield.
“I’m sorry! I’m sorry!”
Freddy stumbles back a few steps, arms out in what’s hopefully a nonthreatening manner “It is alright superstar! I-I was not growling at you!” He stutters.
The boy doesn’t say anything back, only clutching the fazbear plush tightly to his chest. Wide and frightened eyes peeking over the hat of the stuffed bear.
Gosh, the boy is frighteningly tiny, a mere cub now that Freddy can get a good look at him. “Ah… can I ask your name superstar? My name is Freddy, I did not mean to scare you..” he says
The cub’s eyes narrow at Freddy, his brows furrowed. “I wasn’t scared! You just surprised me!”
Freddy hums “I understand.”
The cub hesitates for a few moments after that, probably having expected Freddy to argue instead of readily agree. Silence fills the room before the cub states his name rather shyly.
“Gregory…” Freddy repeats, testing the name out on his voice box. “That is a wonderful name, superstar!”
Before either of them can say anything else, the cub’s stomach lets out a loud growl, making its need for food clear.
Gregory’s face flushes red “s-sorry!” He squeaks, embarrassed.
Freddy’s ear twitches at the sound. “How about we grab some pizza, Gregory?” He offers, some nagging voice in the back of his head urging him to get some form of food in the little cub.
Said cub’s face lights up and any reservations he’d had before vanish as he eagerly jogs up to Freddy’s side, taking the bear’s hand in his.
“That sounds great!”
