It was the ending-half of the rotation when Technoblade was preparing for sleep only to be interrupted by a knocking on his door.
“Wilbur,” was the first thing said as he looked at the brown Avian with the odd green feather standing in his doorway, “I’m not helping you.” was the next.
He had his beak open to speak, but stopped himself to ask, “what?”
“I’m not helping you with whatever plan you may have concocted to get yourself ungrounded.” Techno repeated, wishing to be asleep.
Wilbur had the audacity to look offended when being called out, “when have I ever done that, just knock on your door during the ending-half of a rotation to pull you into a so-called ‘scheme’?”
“Why are you grounded in the first place?” Techno shot back extremely bored, “now are you done, I’m planning on actually getting some sleep this moon-rising, I suggest you do the same.”
Wilbur started spluttering from the gall of Technoblade as mentioned Piglin moved to close his door.
“Wait!”
Techno froze, hoof hovering over his scanner, eyes moving up to look at his best friends son.
Having claimed the Piglin’s attention again Wilbur spoke, “Phil wanted me to bring you up to the cockpit, said that he received a hailing from Rehten.”
The mention of Techno’s home planet sent him in motion, pushing past Wilbur – gaining a squawk in the ear for his efforts – and moving down the halls of the SBI.
The SBI is a class 5 combat ship, that has seen its fair share of battles; The Squabble of the Black Moons (lets face it, that was not a fight), the Firefight of Rodne’s West Plains, the Great Intergalactic War Between the Coalition and the New Worlds and many more. (You can guess which side the SBI fought on)
The SBI is also Philza’s pride and joy, treated almost as well as the occupants on it.
On the bridge Phil was standing at the helm as expected giving Techno a chirp in greeting with Techno grunting in reply as the Piglin made a beeline to the transmitter, curiosity and worry building in his chest.
Accepting the hailing, Commander Nilgip and visiting Head-Scientist of Redne, Edward appeared on the holographic projector.
Techno and Nilgip shared the traditional Rehten greeting, with Wilbur being forced off the bridge in the background by an exasperated Philza. (“Phil, please, let me see what’s going on!” “No, your grounded, off the bridge.” “But Phil!” “That’s Dad to you, and leave before I get the belt.” “Yes Dad!”)
“Blade, the reason behind contacting you is because we need you and your crew to go to Ob’lon, two Rehten Portals have been activated with a five tock interval last wane, the last being one to Ob’lon.” Nilgip informed as Phil walked to Techno.
Techno frowned, it’s been over 6 star-deaths since the last Rehten Portal was activated, and now there’s been two in around five tocks last wane… Techno’s honestly suprised that they still work, the Rehten Portals are almost as old as Phil, and that’s saying something, with the man being over 268 star-deaths old. (No one talks about how the normal age range for Avians is around 7 star-deaths.)
“What was the first portal connected to?” Phil asked, an expected question as it gives them an idea on what they are dealing with, and maybe after they subdue the culprit they could find out how they managed to reactivate the decommissioned Rehten Portals.
Nilgip hesitated, Commander Nilgip hesitated and looked worried. Just what are they dealing with?...
Edward cleared his throat and spoke for the first time in the call, “the planet connected to the first Rehten planet is… Namuh…”
Techno froze as he felt ice was poured down his back as Phil swore behind him. Blinking, Techno shook his head, trying to rid himself of the feeling, before asking why they didn’t contact Dream, the Nomaerd having more experience with Htares, having actually been to the planet.
They explained that Dream is being apart of the mission, just going to deliver the Htare back to Namuh, because he’s been banned from stepping claw on any Coalition planet, while the SBI hasn’t yet. … yet.
Techno sighed, seeing the logic. Looking to Phil, they both agreed to the mission.
1 week and 3 days ago;
Tommy was running, his mums knife in his back pocket and bag on his back. He was currently running from the cops because his foster parents called them, probably telling them he had run away again, but neglected to tell them why he had bruising on his wrists and arms and why most of his possessions got ‘lost’ again.
He remembered seeing a cave in the Nether Mountain that he could hide in for the time being before he goes back to Dave, a cop friend of his, who actually listens to him and not just hands him back to whichever fosters he ran from.
According to the locals Nether Mountain holds a powerful magic that is able to bring unimaginable creatures from the ‘Nether Realm’ for either peace or war. Which is why no one ever sets foot on the mountain, fearful to bring the ‘Great Beasts’ back to Earth, no one except Tommy. He wouldn’t mind bringing creatures from the Nether Realm to Earth, he thinks it would be quite cool. Maybe they could be friends and they could protect him…
Other people theorise that Nether Mountain holds a gateway into space, but its yet to be proven…
Making his way into the cave Tommy is suprised at how large it is compared to the entrance. Grabbing his bag Tommy takes an electric lantern that he *cough* borrowed…
Turning it on he places it on the ground then proceeds to drop his bag as he see’s this … massive rectangular structure, that looks to be made from obsidian, or something similar… it’s at least 20 times larger than he is!
Walking closer he notices some strange symbols carved into the obsidian that he can’t fully make out with his shadow in the way of the light, so he turns back only to find that the cave entrance use to be much larger, just filled in with what looks to be large rocks and early cement.
People knew this was here once upon a time.
Tommy rushed to his lantern and went back to the symbols, brushing his hand over a particularly dusty one, when every symbol lit up gold. The symbols were massive.
The gold faded to a vibrant purple then the purple formed together in the middle of the massive structure, spreading to the obsidian edges with purple particles moving off the portal.
Because that’s what this is… the portal to the Nether Realm…
Tommy’s arms dropped to his sides and the lantern fell from his hand as he stared up at the beautiful sight, almost as beautiful as woman… almost… when he heard a strange sound… whispering… beckoning…
{the whispering and beckoning of the Author, telling him to enter the portal so the story can continue and he can find a family}
Telling Tommy to enter the Portal and Tommy does, disappearing in a flurry of purple and gold particles fully unprepared for what he finds.
Two portals later, Tommy figures out that he’s not in another realm or dimension…
HE’S IN SPACE
