Work Text:
Out of all of their friends to be getting married, Haknyeon hadn’t guessed that it would be Sangyeon and Sunwoo tying the knot first. Admittedly, they all had a betting pool for which couple, between their friend groups, would end up getting married first—Haknyeon’s bet had been on Jacob and Chanhee, though Eric and Changmin were absolutely attached at the hip and only needed a ring to make it official. They’ve been practically married since they were all in university together. But the ones to have a full, big, flashy venue and a full-on ceremony? Haknyeon really thought (and had been hoping, honestly) that it would be Jacob and Chanhee. He’d have made some good money if they’d decided to finally settle into the whole marriage thing.
To everyone’s surprise, though, it’s Sangyeon and Sunwoo. It’s not surprising because of who it is, really, but because of how long—or short—the two have been together. They’ve only been dating for about three years, while the other two couples have been together for longer. Time is pretty subjective, though, in terms of relationships. Haknyeon shouldn’t be as surprised as he is: both Sangyeon and Sunwoo have been head over heels for each other since they’d met through their mutual friend groups. He’s extremely happy for them, really, even if it does force him to come to terms with the fact that he hasn’t fully dated since university.
Eric had offered his home services in LA for their friends. Gay marriage isn’t exactly legal in South Korea yet, and while they might not have their marriage recognize when they go back to the country, getting married in a legal manner matters to both of them quite a bit. For Sangyeon, especially, since illegal matters could interfere with his job quite a bit. So, the plan is for them to get hitched in America: a year from now.
Haknyeon’s never had to deal with wedding planning before. Sangyeon declared all of his friends his best men, and Sunwoo did the same—thankfully, though, the ones who have taken over helping with the wedding planning the most were Kevin, Jacob, and Eric. Chanhee and Younghoon were appointed to help specifically with wardrobes and pictures, and the rest of them—Haknyeon, Changmin, Hyunjae, and Juyeon—were told to only assist when they were told to. Haknyeon could handle that. He liked helping when it was necessary—there’s no way he’d risk Sunwoo’s wrath if he managed to fuck something up during the planning and preparations.
There’s just one tiny issue that Haknyeon’s not too sure about—and Juyeon, bless him, also seems to understand.
“Why are we having the bachelor parties so far in advance…? Shouldn’t we wait until it gets closer to the date, so it’s a way to blow off steam from all the wedding planning?” Juyeon stares down at the calendar that Kevin and Chanhee have given each and everyone one of them, even the two grooms.
“Oh, that’s a myth,” Kevin says, waving a hand flippantly. “It doesn’t actually help relieve stress that much—in fact, it could even cause problems between couples if it’s held too close to the wedding date. I’ve done research on this stuff.” There’s a bit of murmuring, mostly between Changmin and Hyunjae, and Kevin shoots them a Look. “I wanted to make things go smoothly, okay? And for my own gain! I want to make sure I don’t make the same mistakes when I get married.”
The idea of Kevin getting married makes Haknyeon frown, before he mentally shakes himself out of it and focuses back on the schedule calendar that was given to them.
“Besides, while we’re there, we can actually visit venues in person,” Eric says, tapping on the table with a finger. “That way you guys don’t have to rely on just pictures and the internet. You can talk to people in person and see if any of them really speak to you. And you’ll be able to book on the spot, and not have to worry about crunch time when trying to book it! Saves you a lot of stress, honestly.”
“Is this really your first time planning a wedding?” Hyunjae mutters, mostly to himself. They hear it anyway, though.
“Not technically,” Kevin says, waving his hand again. “One of my aunts used to be a wedding planner, so I would sometimes help her out if I was around at the time. I watched her some back then, and I asked her for a lot of advice to make sure we would do this right for Sangyeon-hyung and Sunwoo.”
Sangyeon smiles towards Kevin, as Sunwoo chuckles quietly to himself. “Always a bit of an overachiever, huh, hyung?”
Sangyeon reaches out and grabs Sunwoo’s hand, tangling their fingers together before lifting their joined hands, kissing the back of Sunwoo’s. “Sunwoo-yah, you should be saying thank you, not calling him an overachiever.”
Sunwoo just hums, leaning into his fiance’s space. “I’ll say thanks once we find a venue we like.”
They spend the next three hours discussing the planning schedule: they’ve got everything planned down to the single minute, it seemed, though they tried to keep things as open and loose as they possibly could. They don’t want it to be absolutely stifling and even more stressful for them, but they don’t want people to lose sight of the bigger picture.
“So,” Eric claps his hands together with a grin, eyes gleaming. “Get ready to party in LA, boys!”
The bachelor parties are held a month later, as the eleven of them head from Seoul to LA, California—the trip there is probably the worst part of it all, being a little over 12 hours long. Haknyeon is so glad that they’ll be staying for a week, and they won’t have to get right back on the plane after just a night or two. Bless their friends for thinking that far ahead.
They’ve split up into two groups for the two bachelor parties: Sangyeon with his closest friends, and Sunwoo with his. That means Sangyeon’s group is Kevin, Jacob, Chanhee, Haknyeon, and Hyunjae, and Sunwoo’s group is Eric, Changmin, Juyeon, and Younghoon. (Though Haknyeon is sure Jacob and Chanhee will also go and visit Sunwoo’s party, since they’re also just as close friends with Sunwoo as they are with Sangyeon. The perks of two friend groups getting along rather well in this scenario.)
The nice part of the scenario is that they’re not going too far apart from each other: they’ll still be within the same city, but probably just a couple of blocks away. Kevin and Jacob said this was to ensure that if anything happens, they wouldn’t have to rush to meet up with anyone from the other party. It’s a bit of a safety net, in a way, one that Haknyeon absolutely understands the need for. Haknyeon already knows that Sunwoo’s party is going to be much rowdier than Sangyeon’s party—he sort of wishes he could be both places at once, because he absolutely wants to see Eric and Changmin embarrass themselves like the idiots they are.
Sangyeon’s party is being held during the day, actually—it’s at a place called No Jealousy, and Kevin and Jacob thought that it would be a better experience for him than a nighttime focused party. It would allow them to be more readily available at night if anyone needed them from Sunwoo’s party, and it would give them all a chance to visit Sunwoo and Co later on in the night, too, if they really wanted to.
Honestly, the entire experience is really interesting. It’s definitely more lively than Haknyeon had expected it to be, but it was absolutely worth it—towards the end of the party, the others from Sunwoo’s group ended up making an appearance, along with Sunwoo himself. (Apparently, both Eric and Sunwoo thought it might be fun to surprise everyone by coming and saying hi—a well-done surprise, in Haknyeon’s eyes, and it was pretty fun to have them along in the end, too.)
By the time Sangyeon’s bachelor party is over with, Sunwoo’s bachelor party is just beginning. Haknyeon’s not even sure where Eric has decided to take their group, yet despite that, Haknyeon thinks it’d be a fun idea to tag along, as well. Kevin seems to think the same. They’re carted around with the group like rag dolls. Kevin is pulled along by Chanhee and Jacob, and Haknyeon glues himself to Younghoon’s side—everything around them goes by in a blur, and that might be because they’re already a bit tipsy from the previous party.
Haknyeon doesn’t know how much time passes. He’s fed more drinks by Eric and Juyeon, occasionally encouraged to chug them down by Sunwoo and Chanhee, and before he knows it, his head is spinning and fuzzy and he’s barely got any sense of where he is. Behind his drunken status, Haknyeon believes in and trusts his friends—they wouldn’t let anything happen to him, and so he doesn’t feel put off or upset about anything that’s happening.
The last thing he remembers clearly is seeing Eric, Juyeon, and Sunwoo all laughing over something (maybe it’s him), before everything went black.
Getting black out drunk isn’t something that Haknyeon does often, if at all. He can count on one hand the amount of times it’s happened to him, and he can remember the last time it’s happened, too. His head is pounding, even though his eyes aren’t even open. His eyelids feel like lead and concrete, impossible to open, yet he somehow manages to pull it off. The lowlight of the room feels like the brightest sunbeams in his vision, causing him to groan, squeeze his eyes back shut, and bury his face into the blanket that’s wrapped around him.
He’s in a bed, at least, so he’s pretty happy about that. Haknyeon knew he could trust his friends to get him to someone’s room, if not his own, last night. Or this morning. Or whenever they had decided to get back to their hotel after the party. Despite the brain fog of being hungover, Haknyeon’s brain starts conjuring up a lot of questions about just what happened last night.
Cracking his eyes open again, he peers over the edge of the blanket and notices the things sitting on the nightstand next to the bed. There’s a pill bottle, some bottled water, and a piece of paper. He squints, trying to read the words from where he is so he doesn’t have to move, but it doesn’t work. Haknyeon bemoans this internally to himself as he slowly shuffles closer to the edge of the bed. One arm slips out from under the blanket, quickly snatching up the piece of paper and bringing it close enough for him to read. In rather scratchy ink, it reads:
sorry u gotta wake up alone hakkie :(
you can come meet us downstairs when ur up, i left u some meds & water,
make sure u bring kev down with u too
xoxo chanhee <3
Haknyeon squints even harder at the note. “Make sure you bring Kev down with you too”? What the hell is Chanhee talking about?
Slowly sitting up, Haknyeon places the note back on the nightstand and groans at the painful aching in his temples. He’s just about to reach for the water and medicine, when he notices a weight around his waist—one that is most definitely not the blanket…
No, it’s solid and warm—the warmth is seeping into Haknyeon’s stomach, as whatever it is is pressed right up against it in Haknyeon’s sitting position. He looks down and blinks slowly. Nothing there. He squints, grabs the blanket, slowly lifts it up—and there’s an arm. An arm. Haknyeon almost flips out and jumps out of the bed. Part of him wishes he did that in the first place, because as his brain slowly works itself back online, he notices that it’s not just any arm.
It’s Kevin’s arm.
He knows because of the moles. He knows because of the beautiful crescent moon tattoo that’s on the inside of his wrist, followed by a trail of stars. He knows because Kevin’s nails were painted very pretty for this week’s trip, several different shades of blues and purples to create a night sky with stars and moons and soft clouds painted across them.
The only thing that’s different is that there’s a ring on his finger. Not just any finger, either.
Haknyeon goes to run his hands over his face, burying his face into them, when he feels something a little off on his left hand. Slowly, he pulls his hands away and peers down at them.
There, right around his finger, is a ring. It’s on the exact same finger as Kevin’s ring is on.
Haknyeon’s brain takes several long, long seconds to catch up with what’s happening. Then, once he’s realized what this means, the panic takes over. Haknyeon’s eyes go wide as he carefully pushes Kevin’s arm away from his waist, trying to not disturb him to wake him up—he’s a bit surprised he hasn’t woke up yet, honestly, but now he has more important things to focus on—before he slips himself out of the bed and waddles to the bathroom.
His phone is nowhere to be found at the moment. Haknyeon takes a moment in his panicked state to wash his face, effectively waking himself up a bit more, before he goes in search of the clothing articles he’s missing—namely his pants, since he’s still wearing his shirt, somehow. Once they’re found, he fishes around in the pockets until he finds his phone and pulls it out, quickly going over all the notifications he’s missed. It’s a little much, though, and he does the first thing he can think of with clarity: he has to call Chanhee and Jacob.
He’s in the bathroom as the phone rings, it makes his headache worse since he hasn’t taken any medicine yet, but he needs to talk to someone about this before Kevin wakes up.
“Haknyeon? Hey, you’re awake,” Chanhee’s voice comes through the line rather cheerfully, and Haknyeon wishes he could return the sentiment.
Instead, the words that blurt from his mouth are, “Chanhee-hyung, I think Kevin-hyung and I got married.”
There’s silence, and Haknyeon really hates that. There’s a lot of muffled noises coming from the other line, and then Jacob’s voice is the one that’s speaking up next. “What? Haknyeon, what do you mean you got married?”
“I—well, okay, I woke up like ten minutes ago honestly, and I looked at the note Chanhee-hyung left me, right? I was about to take the medicine but then I noticed something on my waist so I looked down and saw Kevin’s arm and then—then I saw, there’s a ring on his finger. Like a wedding ring. And I was like, “Huh? What?” And when I went to go rub my face I felt something on my hand so I looked and I have the exact same ring on my finger, too, and I don’t remember anything from last night. I have no idea what the hell happened. But I’m like, ninety percent sure that we got married last night somehow.”
Both of them are silent again for a couple of moments, before he hears Jacob sighing. “Okay, well, just… don’t freak out too much more, okay? Wait for Kev to wake up and maybe the two of you can talk about it and work it out. Just—don’t bring this up to anyone else. I don’t think any of us want to stress out Sangyeon-hyung and Sunwoo when this next year is supposed to be focused on them.”
“I think Sunwoo might kick your ass for getting married before them, actually,” Chanhee says from the side, and that’s when Haknyeon realizes he must be on speaker for them. Duh.
“I mean, we didn’t like… really get married. It’s a drunk marriage. I don’t think these things count. Maybe we can just… take the rings off, hide them away, and never look back. Yeah. Yeah, that’s a good idea—”
Haknyeon is interrupted by a knock on the bathroom door, and Kevin softly calling his name out through it. “Haknyeon? You okay in there? Can we switch soon? I’ve really gotta go…”
“You should go,” Jacob’s voice is softer now, and Haknyeon imagines his gentle smile. “I know Kevin. He’s not going to be too mean about it, I promise.” Part of Haknyeon doubts that, but he agrees anyway, says goodbye to them both, and hangs up.
When he opens the bathroom door, Kevin is standing there, still clearly half-asleep. He gives Haknyeon a smile before slipping past him into the bathroom, as Haknyeon steps out to give him some space. The door closes and Haknyeon shuffles his way over to the bed, staring at it for several moments before sitting down on the edge. He zones out for a bit, and only comes back to when Kevin is exiting the bathroom. He looks up, sees Kevin smiling at him, and immediately wants to curl up into himself.
Kevin sits down next to him on the bed. The air around them is filled with some kind of tension, Haknyeon can feel it, but he doesn’t know if he has the right words to describe it. This isn’t the first time they’ve been in a situation like this—only back then, the circumstances hadn’t been so dire or serious. It hadn’t been marriage, it had just been a drunken one night stand.
✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦
Haknyeon feels warm. Warm and fuzzy and his mind is nothing but haze. The world is lost around him—he doesn’t really know quite where he is, but he’s sure he’s still inside of Changmin’s house. Somewhere, at least. He can feel himself leaning against something—or maybe someone?—and it’s rather soft and warm. It’s not a wall, at least, that’s for sure, but he’s not quite sure if it’s a person. Maybe he’s in a bed—he definitely feels like it might be soft enough to be one.
He hasn’t been this drunk since his freshman year of university. Where his brain and body aren’t very connected, his mind lagging behind everything by about 5 minutes. His friends had told him he becomes a rather lax drunk when he gets like this; both Changmin and Sangyeon vouch for the fact that he’s very clingy, because Haknyeon is barely able to keep himself sitting in this drunken state. Maybe that’s what’s happening. He must be leaning against someone because he can’t sit right at the moment.
This is proven right when he feels someone’s hand come to rest over his shoulder. The touch is nice and Haknyeon turns his head towards the feeling, immediately nuzzling his face against the person’s hand. Whoever it is laughs, and it’s such a nice laugh. It fills Haknyeon’s chest with butterflies and makes him nestle against their hand even more.
“Wow, Haknyeonie, I didn’t realize you wanted to be petted so badly,” The person’s voice is soft and teasing, the words somewhat slurred—they must be quite drunk, as well, or at least on the tipsy side of things.
That teasing goes right through Haknyeon. He’s not quite sure why, especially since his head is spinning so much from the alcohol, but the person just chuckles and pulls their hand back. Haknyeon actually whines at the loss of it, only to be satiated as the hand starts combing through his hair. When Haknyeon’s eyelids flutter, blinking at random intervals, he finally pulls them open and looks around to see the source of the hand.
It’s Kevin, who’s grinning down at him like he’s won the best prize at an arcade. His cheeks are rather flushed red, along with his ears, and Haknyeon recognizes those as the signs of being tipsy. Haknyeon feels himself grinning back, which makes Kevin laugh again, and Haknyeon realizes that he really likes Kevin’s laugh. It’s nice and light, feels like he could listen to it for hours.
He must have said this out loud, because Kevin’s eyes sparkle as he says, “Thank you, Haknyeonie.”
There’s a part of time where Haknyeon blacks out. He becomes so comfortable with Kevin’s hand going through his hair, and he remembers closing his eyes, and nothing else for a bit of time after. When he comes to again, Haknyeon does recognize that he’s in a bed. His face is mushed against a pillow, and he feels like he should feel less drunk, but there’s still a buzz going through him and he can feel it.
Haknyeon moves and rustles around on the bed, struggling to lift his head a bit as he sits back on his legs. He doesn’t even notice that there’s another person in the bed with him, and when he looks, it’s Kevin again. And then Kevin is looking back at him, and that’s when Haknyeon realizes that Kevin is awake and not asleep like he’d originally assumed.
“Hi.” His voice is a bit strained and awkward, his throat feels rather dry. “What…”
“You fell asleep for about an hour or so,” Kevin says, slowly pushing himself up from the bed as well. “It was kind of killing my arm like twenty minutes in though, so I carried you to one of Min’s spare rooms and let you rest.”
The thought and idea of Kevin carrying him makes Haknyeon’s insides feel… a lot of something. He can feel his ears go warm—he swallows as quietly as he can, sitting back a bit further on the bed. “Oh… um, thank you, then. Sorry about your arm.”
“It’s cool,” Kevin laughs lightly, leaning on one hand as he pulls his other one up and flexes. Actually flexes. Haknyeon’s eyes go wide as he watches the muscles go taut, bulging out, before relaxing and smoothing out again. “It made for a pretty good workout, either way.”
Haknyeon is definitely still drunk, because his brain and mouth are not in it together as he suddenly blurts out, “I know another thing that’s a pretty good workout.” His eyes haven’t left Kevin’s arm, even when it’s been lowered. It takes a few seconds for him to catch onto what he’s just said, his eyes going even wider as his gaze snaps up to meet Kevin’s.
The look in Kevin’s eyes isn’t what he’s expecting. He’s expecting confusion and possible disgust—Kevin is gay, though, so Haknyeon knows it wouldn’t be because of that, but because it’s Haknyeon that he’d be grossed out—but that’s not what he gets at all. No, Kevin’s eyes are rather dark. His pupils are dilated, and that’s when Haknyeon notices that Kevin’s gaze is directed towards his lips. Haknyeon glances down at his own lips, before flicking his gaze back up towards Kevin.
Haknyeon swallows slowly. His body seems to have a mind of its own. He leans forward, pushing himself up on his knees as he places his hands on the bed, close enough to Kevin that he can feel the heat radiating from his thigh. Haknyeon glances towards Kevin’s lips, then back to his eyes, watching the other’s face the entire way. As Haknyeon leans forward even more, body angled much like a cat’s would, their faces slowly come closer together, until Haknyeon can feel Kevin’s hot breath over his lips.
“Kevin-hyung,” Haknyeon mumbles softly, shifting his knees slightly. “Will you kiss me, hyung?”
Kevin’s eyes snap up to meet Haknyeon’s, narrowing towards him instantly. A few seconds later, they’re kissing. Kevin’s hand is cupping the back of his head and their lips are moving together rather messily—there’s no real coordination between them, especially since Haknyeon is still somewhat drunk, but he could really care less. Kissing Kevin feels so good. His lips are soft and warm. They taste like alcohol, and vaguely like watermelon (it’s probably his chapstick, or even lip gloss).
They kiss until Haknyeon feels absolutely breathless, and there’s a bit of spit trailing down his chin. After he pulls away, Kevin licks the trail completely clean, tongue flicking over the corner of Haknyeon’s lips before he presses a kiss there. Haknyeon outright moans, not bothering to hide the fact that their making out has definitely turned him on. He lifts his hands, sitting back on his knees a bit to make sure that he doesn’t fall forward, and immediately places them on Kevin’s thighs. He kneads at them slowly, fingers massaging at the hard muscles as they tense up under his touch. He licks his lips slowly, brain fogged with alcohol and lust, and he can’t help himself.
“Will you fuck me too, hyung?” He watches Kevin suck in a deep breath, absolutely loves the way it stutters back out through his lips. “Please, Kevin-hyung?” Haknyeon juts his lower lip out, pouting on purpose, leaning even further into Kevin’s space.
“Haknyeon,” He shivers as Kevin says his name, as Kevin’s hand slowly makes its way down his back, palm resting against his lower back. “Are you sure? Because—”
“Please, hyung,” Haknyeon is not against begging. He whimpers softly as he pushes back into Kevin’s touch, ass sticking out as a result of it. “Please, I want you to—”
Kevin curses lowly in English, and Haknyeon feels absolutely giddy. Suddenly he’s on his back on the bed and Kevin is pressing into him, their hips meeting and friction being caused between them. Haknyeon practically mewls, pressing his head back against the pillow, exposing his neck to Kevin just as the other man leans down to mouth along it. Kevin bites and sucks and kisses and Haknyeon loves it.
“You’re already so needy,” Haknyeon gasps out a soft moan as Kevin cups his dick through his pants, squeezing at it. “You really couldn’t wait for me to fuck you, huh, puppy?”
Haknyeon moans. Loud. If anyone is still in the house—and there probably is someone—they’ll definitely be able to hear him. He hadn’t realized he was into that sort of thing, but he definitely is, and all he knows is that Kevin can continue to call him that as much as he wants for as long as he wants.
“What a loud pup,” Kevin muses softly, a smirk on his face. “Do you care if people hear us or not? Hm? Do you want everyone else downstairs to know that I’m fucking you?”
A shudder goes through Haknyeon as he moans again, nodding his head with abandon. Kevin laughs at him, but it’s not cruel—just a bit mocking. (Haknyeon’s a little into it.) He coos as he squeezes Haknyeon’s dick again, before retracting his hand. Haknyeon whimpers softly in desperation as Kevin moves away from him entirely. He whines softly, pouting as he looks towards the older man.
Kevin is rummaging through the nightstand next to the bed, probably for the stuff they need to actually do this. His arms are on full view again and Haknyeon is enjoying it very much. When Kevin finds what he needs and turns back, Haknyeon is still watching him with hooded eyes, causing him to chuckle and smirk. He drops the items on the bed next to Haknyeon’s hip, a half-full bottle of lube and a few condoms. Just the sight of them makes Haknyeon’s stomach do a little flip, the desire burning through him even more.
“Such a good puppy,” Kevin runs his hand along Haknyeon’s side, lightly tugging on the hem of his shirt when he reaches it. “Waiting so patiently for me. Do you like being a good puppy, Haknyeonie?”
Haknyeon nods quickly, eyelashes fluttering as Kevin starts tugging his shirt up and off. They take a minute or so to undress each other, and soon enough, both of them are naked. Haknyeon lays himself back against the bed, settling back against the pillows in a provocative way on purpose, half-lidded eyes watching as Kevin uncaps the lube and squeezes some onto his fingers, a lazy smirk on his face.
Kevin is gently prodding at his hole as Haknyeon mewls quietly, closing his eyes and tilting his head back slightly. As the first finger breaches him, Haknyeon feels Kevin leaning over him, his free hand traveling up along his side and rib cage. He’s so focused on the way Kevin’s finger curls inside of him, slowly moving in and out, that he doesn’t notice the way Kevin’s other hand is slowly curling around his neck. He doesn’t do anything, though—Kevin merely keeps his hand there, his thumb gently running up and down along his Adam’s apple.
“You’d look really cute with a collar here,” Kevin muses, sounding so nonchalant, like he isn’t two fingers deep in Haknyeon’s ass right now.
Haknyeon barely registers that he gasps at Kevin’s words, his eyes flying open to stare up at Kevin. The older man grins down at him, eyes twinkling with mischief, just as he crooks his fingers a certain way and presses them right against Haknyeon’s prostate—Haknyeon can’t help the loud moan that comes from him, his hips bucking up against Kevin’s hand.
“Don’t you think so, Haknyeonie?” Kevin practically purrs as he slides a third finger into him, wet with lube once more. “Would you let hyung put a collar on you next time?”
Next time. Haknyeon can’t wrap his head around there being a next time and he’s not given much time to really think about it at all, not with the way Kevin keeps twisting and scissoring his fingers. Haknyeon’s dick aches, utterly neglected as it bounces against his stomach, dribbling pre-cum the entire time.
“Hyung,” Haknyeon whimpers softly, bucking his hips up from the bed. “Hyung, please, m’ready—need you in me so badly, please—”
Kevin coos. Literally coos, his eyes sparkling. He seems to be so amused at how needy Haknyeon is, and Haknyeon feels like he should be embarrassed about it, but it just doesn’t register to his brain. Kevin makes quick work of getting himself ready, ripping open a condom and rolling it onto his dick, pumping it several times to coat it in lube. Haknyeon watches him the entire time, mouth watering at the sight—next time, he’s definitely going to have to blow Kevin.
When Kevin pushes into him, Haknyeon feels like he can’t breath—he’s so big, and it’s been a while since Haknyeon’s been laid, and everything feels so good. Kevin rolls his hips forward, gently inching himself in until he bottoms out, hips now flush against Haknyeon’s. Haknyeon lets his head fall back, moaning brokenly as Kevin begins to set a steady pace.
The rest of the experience is fuzzy and a little all over the place for Haknyeon. Kevin has a mouth on him, constantly whispering dirty things into his ear, or asking him straight up how his dick feels inside of him. Haknyeon shudders almost every time, moans and Kevin’s name falling from his lips as Kevin fucks him. He pants heavily, eyes glazed over and unfocused, and he feels his tongue slightly poking out of his mouth at some point.
Kevin laughs at it, grinning down at him, as he reaches a hand up and hooks his thumb against the corner of Haknyeon’s mouth, dipping it in beside his tongue. “Wow, you really are a puppy, Haknyeonie… got your tongue hanging out and everything.”
Haknyeon sticks his tongue further out on purpose then, before he wraps it around Kevin’s thumb. He sucks it into his mouth with a moan, closing his eyes as Kevin’s thrusts begin to pick up pace. He fucks into Haknyeon harder and rougher, watching the younger’s face the entire time. Haknyeon can feel his climax building—his hand reaches down clumsily, bumping into Kevin’s stomach as he grabs hold of his own dick and begins jerking himself off. Kevin’s mouth is on him, moving from one side of his neck to the other, and occasionally dipping down onto his chest.
Kevin’s mouth is wrapped around one of his nipples when Haknyeon’s body begins tensing, just as Kevin angles his hips and thrusts against his prostate. Haknyeon whimpers loudly and throws his head back, clenching down around Kevin’s dick as he feels his orgasm building and building—Kevin grabs hold of one of his legs suddenly, pushing it up as he angles his hips, and fucks into Haknyeon with fervor. Haknyeon is nothing but broken moans and whimpers when he feels himself getting too close to the edge—
He cums with a loud moan of Kevin’s name, stars exploding behind his eyelids, and there must have been a bit more alcohol in his system than he’d originally thought, because Haknyeon finds himself closing his eyes and falling asleep almost instantly after he feels Kevin cumming inside of him.
✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦
“Um,” Haknyeon begins, ever so eloquently. He can feel Kevin watching him, but he refuses to look up from his hands on his lap. His fingers fidget together, picking at his nails and the skin around them, just to do something, anything.
“Last night was pretty insane,” Kevin starts, taking the reins as he usually does. Haknyeon stays quiet, letting him speak. “I’m surprised I remember as much as I do, because we all had a lot to drink… it’s amazing that Sangyeon-hyung and Sunwoo even want to go out and go venue looking today in the first place. I could never.” Haknyeon kind of wishes he would just get to the point, because he knows Kevin is trying to stall and lower him into it gently. He wishes he’d just rip the band aid off, instead.
“We can talk about this later.” Haknyeon snaps his head up, looking up to Kevin with wide, lost eyes. Kevin just smiles gently and reaches out, lightly placing his hand against Haknyeon’s arm. “We have a lot more to worry about than this, you know? Sangyeon-hyung’s and Sunwoo’s wedding, for example. It’s a while away, but wedding planning takes a while, and we really… shouldn’t cause a scene because of a drunken marriage. When the wedding is over—as in, completely over, when the grooms are on their honeymoon—we can talk about it. Okay?”
Kevin’s always been a better thinker than Haknyeon. He doesn’t panic immediately, and often knows what to do after just a few hours of thinking about it. Despite wanting to talk about it now, and airing out things between them, Haknyeon knows better. Their focus should be on Sangyeon and Sunwoo, not on themselves, especially with something as important as this. So Haknyeon agrees, nodding as he watches Kevin carefully pull off the rings on their fingers. He gets up from the bed and goes to the nightstand on his side of the bed, grabbing a small box that was sitting there and opening it. He puts both rings in the box then closes it, before he turns around to gently shake it in Haknyeon’s direction.
“For safe keeping. I’ll make sure to not lose them.”
Haknyeon just nods again, smiling a bit sheepishly, before he gets up to get ready. They can’t keep everyone waiting forever, but Haknyeon’s not too sure if he’ll be able to face everyone and keep as good of a poker face as Kevin. As the two of them both get ready, the silence now a tad more comfortable, Haknyeon notices the bouquet of flowers on the vanity against the wall. There are carnations, baby’s breath, and spider lilies, with a ton of accompanying greenery that Haknyeon doesn’t know the names of. The colours are beautifully arranged, and he’s a bit surprised that Drunk Him managed to get something so pretty.
He smiles a bit to himself as he walks over to the bouquet, running his fingers over the flowers gently. Haknyeon decides that if Kevin gets to keep the rings, then he’ll go ahead and keep the flowers.
Keeping the fact that he and Kevin are secretly married has been a lot easier than Haknyeon had expected it to be. It might be for the fact that their entire friend group is focused solely on Sangyeon’s and Sunwoo’s wedding, but Haknyeon isn’t too sure. Both he and Kevin are busy with their lives, as well—Kevin in helping plan the wedding to begin with, along with working his own job, and Haknyeon has currently been buried in his work at his job. He’s grateful that they aren’t around each other as often, especially around their friends, because Haknyeon often finds himself idly wondering about Kevin throughout the day. Whenever he does see him, Haknyeon is overwhelmed by the urge to kiss him and ask him how his day’s been—just like a couple.
They’re still not at the time where they can talk about It™. The wedding is four months away, and right now, everyone is stressing over it a bit more than they’d like to admit. Their checklist has been a little all over the place, but it’s worked in their favour, in the end.
Currently, Haknyeon is assisting Jacob and Kevin in the cake tasting and flower picking. Sunwoo is with them, as well, since Sangyeon unfortunately couldn’t join them because of work. (Sunwoo likes to joke that he unintentionally got into a sugar daddy/sugar baby relationship, but Haknyeon’s a little inclined to agree. Sangyeon makes big bucks, man.) Sunwoo knows his fiance’s tastes better than the three of them combined, but with all of their varying degrees of taste and knowledge about the attendees of the wedding, they all have valuable input to give.
The cake tasting goes as well as Haknyeon had imagined it to be—which is to say it was great, up until his stomach decided that cake was too much and he no longer wanted to eat any more. He makes a noise of complaint due to it, carefully cradling his stomach. Kevin looks at him as Jacob and Sunwoo discuss something about icing flavours, his eyebrows furrowed slightly.
“You okay, Hak?”
Haknyeon gives a sheepish smile, nodding. “Too much cake. Stomach’s not happy with me right now.”
Kevin’s creases even out and he smiles, chuckling softly. He leans over and down then, pointing a finger towards Haknyeon’s stomach. “Hey, you be nice to Haknyeon now—make sure you feel better real soon, okay?”
When he sits back up and leans away, Kevin is oblivious to the way both Jacob and Sunwoo are staring at them. Haknyeon’s ears burn at the looks on their faces. Jacob’s eyes are wide, surprised, but he tries his best to even it out when Kevin turns to talk to him, still unaware of anything.
Haknyeon sits there, stiff, as Sunwoo stares him down. He tries to avoid the other’s eyes, he really does, but he finally caves and looks into Sunwoo’s gaze—only for the younger to smirk at him. That shit-eating smirk of Sunwoo’s that always appears when he thinks that he’s so smart and has something figured out. Sunwoo wriggles his eyebrows some, before cocking his head in Kevin’s direction. Haknyeon immediately shakes his head, almost giving himself whiplash from how fast he does it. Sunwoo rolls his eyes, sassing him even in their silent communication.
Both of them are drawn out of it when one of the workers returns to ask them about what steps they want to take next. Haknyeon merely sits there, waiting for the cake torture to be over.
Thankfully, Sunwoo decides on the flavours with ease. They’re out of the place within thirty minutes, and Jacob drives them to their next destination: a local florist that both Sunwoo and Sangyeon have expressed in loving. They’d gotten a hold of the business months back, asking if they’d be available, and thankfully, they were. Now they’re on the way to pick what flowers would be best for the wedding, based on the couple’s personal tastes, the venue, the weather, and even more minor details that Haknyeon would have never thought of. Not for just wanting to get flowers, at least.
The flowers are beautiful. Haknyeon finds himself more enamored with them than anything else. As Kevin, Sunwoo, and Jacob discuss the various possibilities with one of the head managers, Haknyeon wanders the store. He stops at several of them, resisting the urge to touch the petals and leaves, and reads on the display cards what the flowers are supposed to mean. Something clicks in his mind, and while the others are occupied, he looks around in order to find another worker of the shop.
“Excuse me,” Haknyeon approaches a young woman gently, bowing to her with a small smile. “I was wondering… if I was able to show you a picture of a bouquet, would you be able to tell me the meanings of the flowers that are in it?”
“Oh, yes!” The young woman smiles brightly, as if this is one of the best question’s Haknyeon could have asked. “I would love to be of assistance with that if you need it. Is there any particular reason why you would like to know?”
Haknyeon shakes his head. “Not… really. I guess it’s just more genuine curiosity than anything else.”
“That’s quite common,” she laughs lightly, nodding. “Well, if you have a picture with you, I’d be very happy to tell you!”
Pulling out his phone, Haknyeon scrolls through his gallery until he finds a picture of the bouquet—he taps on it and holds it out for the woman to see, trying not to fidget or seem too awkward. She studies it for a moment, occasionally zooming in and squinting, but when she’s done, she turns to Haknyeon with a gentle smile and explains what all of the flowers are meant to mean, or the possible meanings of them, depending on what the bouquet is meant for.
After thanking her, Haknyeon tries to not let the meanings of them get to his head too much. They swirl around his mind as he aimlessly wanders back over towards his friends. Jacob notices him first and keeps him from bumping into a table, looking slightly worried. “You okay there, Haknyeon?”
Swallowing a bit, Haknyeon nods. He shakes his head—physically—and then pulls his lips up into a smile. “Yeah, I’m fine, hyung. I promise—just got a lot of information sort of dumped into my brain, so I’m just processing it.”
Jacob watches him intently for a few moments, his gaze rather scrutinizing. He knows what Jacob is trying to do—Haknyeon just continues to smile, until Jacob gives up, and takes him back over to where Kevin and Sunwoo are finishing up the flower arrangement plans. Haknyeon can’t help it when he smiles towards Kevin as their gazes meet, and his heart flutters in his chest when Kevin smiles back.
Four months really fly by when you’re planning a wedding. Before Haknyeon knows it, the wedding is right around the corner—almost literally, as it’s a week away. The nervous jitters between him and the rest of their group are high and intense, and it’s the engaged couple that is, surprisingly, the calmest amongst them. Sangyeon is often seen calming Kevin down, and Sunwoo is trying to wrangle Eric into not going into a spiral. Between the three planners, Jacob seems to be the one who has the most trust in everything that they’ve done, and Haknyeon isn’t too surprised by that. Haknyeon sees Kevin a lot more lately, aiding him and any of the others in whatever they may need for the wedding, and as a result, they’ve become close once more. Haknyeon is the rock that Kevin needs for this stressful time, the shoulder that Kevin cries on when he’s overwhelmed, and Haknyeon is just happy that Kevin trusts him so much.
It’s been extremely easy to forget that they’ve been married this entire time, up until now.
As the days slowly roll by, Haknyeon becomes increasingly excited for his friends’ marriage. They’ve all traveled back to the States now, and they’ve been ushering the various details into the venue as they arrive. Most of the items had to be called in—as the decisions had been made by companies in Korea, but the wedding itself was going to be in the US. Thankfully, that part hadn’t been as stressful as most of them thought it would be. The cake’s flavours were perfect, and the flower arrangements were spot-on. There had been no miscommunication between any of the companies, and for that, all of them were extremely grateful and thankful.
The wedding day slowly approaches. It’s insane how jittery and anxious Kevin gets with the approaching date. Haknyeon desperately wishes that he could calm him down, so he decides to take a bit of action for once.
The night before the wedding, Haknyeon sneaks his way into Kevin’s room (after convincing Jacob that it’s not to try and sleep with him—Haknyeon may be stupid in love with Kevin, but he’s not that much of an idiot). Kevin seems like he’s had too much caffeine to allow himself to rest properly, and Haknyeon just can’t have that.
“Kevin-hyung,” Haknyeon carefully sits himself down on the bed next to him, just as Kevin looks up and offers him a half-smile. “You’re stressing yourself out so much—if you do that too much, then you’ll definitely make Sangyeon-hyung and Sunwoo stressed out. You have to calm down.” Kevin grimaces, looking away from Haknyeon instantly. Kevin knows that he’s right and Haknyeon can feel it. But he also knows how Kevin operates, how he works.
Haknyeon holds his arms out, merely waiting, until Kevin leans himself into the other’s embrace. He holds Kevin as the other man breathes deeply, in and out, shaky and stuttering, because Haknyeon knows he’s trying not to cry any more. (Kevin’s been crying a lot for the past week, and Haknyeon’s hated it.) Haknyeon rubs along his back, pressing a kiss to the top of Kevin’s head, before he starts to slowly speak. “Hey, hyung… you know, after this, we’re technically still married…” Kevin laughs wetly against his shoulder, it makes Haknyeon smile. “We should go on our own honeymoon, too, don’t you think?”
Kevin pulls away to look at him, creases in his forehead as he watches Haknyeon intently—searching his face and eyes for something, but not finding it. Maybe he was looking for a sign that Haknyeon had been joking, but Haknyeon is utterly serious. He wants to take Kevin out, to help him destress after this long year. Kevin’s not even being paid for this, neither are Jacob or Eric, and Haknyeon knows that it must have been hard planning all of this out with his work schedule.
“Well?” He waits, his arms still loosely wrapped around Kevin’s waist.
The corners of Kevin’s lips twitch, until he’s got a small smile on his face. His eyes are shiny, still with tears, but also with warmth and adoration. Haknyeon wants to melt into him.
“Okay,” Kevin sighs quietly, his entire body deflating as he leans himself back into Haknyeon. “Let’s go on a honeymoon, then.”
They fall asleep two hours later, after mindlessly talking about what they think the wedding is going to be like the next day.
The wedding is beautiful. Everything runs smoothly and perfectly, despite the tiniest hiccups along the way, and all of them couldn’t be happier about the outcome of it. Haknyeon, Eric, Hyunjae, and Chanhee had cheered the loudest when the couple kissed, were the first ones to leave their seats and capture the two in a giant group up as soon as the ceremony was over. Haknyeon’s never seen Sangyeon smile so wide, and he’s never seen Sunwoo look so in love before—he’s filled to the brim with happiness and love for his friends and their marriage.
Their wedding is on the smaller side, with most guests being friends rather than family. Haknyeon understands why. Sangyeon’s family hadn’t been very accepting of their son’s bisexuality, and when he had announced he’d be getting married to Sunwoo, a man, most of his family had cut contact. Sunwoo’s family was on the more accepting side of things, but not a lot of them. Sunwoo’s parents are there, congratulating them and caring for Sangyeon like he’s one of their own already—now that he officially is part of their family.
In his very personal opinion, receptions are the best part of weddings. They’re loud and bright and full of life, and the planners—their trio of friends—had made sure that Sangyeon’s and Sunwoo’s reception wouldn’t be boring, not at all. Everyone congregates around the dance floor, laughing and singing and dancing, occasional shouts being heard from several of their friends. Haknyeon eventually finds himself smooshed between Sunwoo and Chanhee on the dance floor, with Sangyeon, Juyeon, and Changmin bunched together right next to them. Their dancing is stupid and carefree, they keep bumping into each other and Haknyeon’s pretty sure Changmin’s elbowed him at least twice already, but he doesn’t want to be anywhere else right now.
He finds Kevin just on the outside of the dance floor, a fond look on his face as Haknyeon approaches him. He’s hot and sweaty, but he doesn’t feel tired. Haknyeon grins towards the other, holding out his hand to him. Kevin’s eyes crinkle as he laughs, face scrunching up with a grin, and he takes Haknyeon’s hand. Haknyeon leads him to the dance floor, away from their friends, and places his hands against his Kevin’s waist as they start to sway together. Their movements are slow, just the two of them moving from side to side, despite the upbeat music coming from the speakers, and the rowdiness of their friends across the way.
Kevin leans his head in, presses their foreheads together, and smiles. Haknyeon feels somewhat breathless, watching him like this. “Thank you for last night, by the way,” Kevin peers up at him through his lashes, grin turning to something softer. “It really helped—and I was able to enjoy today, too, instead of stressing about it too much.”
Haknyeon shakes his head a bit, because Kevin doesn’t need to be thanking him, but he holds his tongue as he returns the shy smile. “I meant what I said.”
“I know,” Kevin’s arms come up to circle around Haknyeon’s shoulders, as his feet shuffle forward a bit. “And I meant it when I accepted it, too.”
Haknyeon has to close his eyes. He breathes in deeply and slowly, head tilting a bit as he leans himself into Kevin slightly. His arms circle Kevin’s midsection, hugging him close, as he feels one of Kevin’s hands running through the back of his hair.
“I really like you, Kevin-hyung.” Haknyeon confesses. He hadn’t planned on doing it like this—especially not at Sangyeon’s and Sunwoo’s wedding, but he can’t keep it in any longer. Kevin needs to know, especially if they’re going to keep doing… whatever it is they’re doing now.
There’s silence for a beat, before Haknyeon hears—and feels—Kevin’s breathy laugh against his ear. Kevin kisses the outer shell of it, before he leans down and buries his face against Haknyeon’s neck, where he can feel the giant smile on his face. “I really like you too, Haknyeon-ah. Let’s go on a honeymoon soon, yeah?”
When the flowers of his bouquet began dying, Haknyeon had cried. He’s not really sure why he cried, but he had, and that was the end of it. Juyeon had been smart enough to suggest that Haknyeon go out and just buy the same bouquet of flowers—or at least have a shop try and replicate it to the best of their ability. Haknyeon had done just that, and since then, he refuses to go without making sure his bouquet is kept in the most pristine condition.
One day, Eric asks him what the flowers are actually for.
Haknyeon, because he may be a little on the ditzy side, tells him: “Oh, they’re from when Kevin-hyung and I got married.”
The entire apartment goes quiet. Haknyeon takes a few seconds to catch up on what he’s just said, freezes entirely, and slowly turns his head to look at the people who are staring holes into him.
“What the hell do you mean ‘when you and Kevin-hyung got married?’” Changmin practically screeches the question, stumbling his way over both Chanhee’s and Eric’s bodies.
Haknyeon tenses up in defense, shoulders pulled up high and tight, and he leans away from Changmin encroaching on his space—if only to spare himself from the inevitable biting he’s going to get soon. “I—w-well, you remember… the bachelor parties, right? Uh—I guess we just got so shitfaced drunk that we got married. While we were there. So, uh. Yeah.” Haknyeon slowly raises his hands, doing a lame attempt of jazz hands with them. “Tada? We’ve been married for over a year now?”
Jacob comes back from the bathroom, sees everyone drilling their gazes into Haknyeon, and quietly sighs. “Oh, Haknyeon-ah… you really did it, huh?”
Eric and Changmin start bombarding him with questions. Chanhee is already well aware of the situation, as he had been one of the first people notified with Jacob, and so he just sits back, leaning against the arm of the couch, and watches as Haknyeon suffers. Jacob tries his best to mediate, but it’s to no avail. The couple are relentless.
“But why aren’t you wearing a ring if you’re married? Where has it been this entire time?” Eric grabs Haknyeon’s hand, looking it over intently.
“Kevin-hyung has it,” Haknyeon mumbles, yanking his hand away. “He has both of the rings. He said he was keeping them safe, for until after Sangyeon-hyung’s and Sunwoo’s wedding.”
“So you…” Changmin looks over at the bouquet, which is in a vase, set right beside the TV. “Decided to keep the bouquet of flowers instead? Really?”
“They’re pretty…” Haknyeon mumbles, turning his head away. He gazes towards the bouquet, then sighs lightly. He leans back into the couch, pressing his cheek against his palm. “I kept them because… when I went to pick out the flowers with Kevin-hyung, Jacob-hyung, and Sunwoo, I asked a lady there about the meanings of the flowers in the bouquet. She told me them, and… I realized I didn’t want to just—throw them away. Because not only are they beautiful, but they mean a lot. Especially the spider lilies—they have such strong meanings, and… I don’t know, keeping them here and making sure to replace them, it helps me think that maybe this isn’t such a bad thing.”
Haknyeon pauses after his little speech, turning to look at his small audience. Then the corners of his lips twitch up as he says, “Plus we sort of confessed at the wedding, anyways. We might be married, but we only started dating like two months ago.”
Changmin’s glare is so deadly, Haknyeon is surprised that he’s actually still living and breathing at this moment. “I hate you so much, Haknyeon-ah.”
He grins crookedly, shaky eyes desperately flickering to Jacob for help. The older merely shrugs, shaking his head—even he can’t do much about Changmin. Haknyeon scrambles off of the couch just as Changmin lunges at him, yelping in surprise. He’s chased around the apartmeny by Changmin, who is followed by Eric, and the three of them are being watched by Jacob and Chanhee the entire time.
Eventually, Changmin catches him and sits on him, biting his arm. He supposes he deserves it, for keeping such a big secret from his best friends for so long—but he also thinks that they can’t blame him. It had been important to both him and Kevin that their focus be on the wedding, and not their own predicament, and it’s honestly served them pretty well, in the long run.
Haknyeon is saved when the door to his apartment opens, and Kevin is calling out, “Haknyeonie! I’m back!” Then, there’s a pause, as Kevin registers Jacob and Chanhee in the living room. “Oh, hey, Cobie and Chanhee! Where’s Haknyeon?”
At the sound of Kevin’s voice, Changmin’s head snaps up and he zeroes in on his next target. Oh, no. Haknyeon really should have found a moment to text Kevin about the tyranny that Changmin is about to reign down upon them.
“Changmin-hyung, wait—” Haknyeon tries, Eric helping him sit up from the floor, but he’s too late.
Changmin rushes out of the room, armed and ready, and Haknyeon can see his little gremlin stance from where he stands in the bedroom. Kevin says his name in surprise, before a he screeches as Changmin goes charging towards him. Chanhee jumps further up onto the couch as Kevin runs around the coffee table, narrowly avoiding tripping himself and falling over, but it doesn’t really matter. Changmin’s not giving up. Kevin yells for Haknyeon, then Jacob, then Chanhee—for anyone to come and save him from Changmin’s wrath.
Unfortunately, no soul is spared that day. Changmin traps Kevin in the bathroom and Haknyeon winces slightly when he hears Kevin’s yelping, assuming Changmin is definitely biting Kevin as hard as he had bitten him. His arm is still throbbing with the pain, and he’s pretty sure Changmin’s teeth marks are going to be staying for at least a week.
When Kevin and Changmin exit the bathroom, Kevin is pouting and gripping at his shoulder, while Changmin looks somewhat satiated. He huffs loudly, puffing out his chest, and goes straight into Eric’s side. He hugs around his boyfriend’s shoulders, feigning innocence as he presses their cheeks together, looking in Haknyeon’s and Kevin’s direction. “I’m happy for you, even if you did lie to us for over a year.”
Kevin stares at Changmin, an incredulous look on his face, before he slowly turns to look at Haknyeon with an eyebrow raised. Haknyeon manages a sheepish smile. “I… may have accidentally confessed that we’ve been married for over a year and only started dating recently. I’m sorry.”
Kevin purses his lips, eyes narrowed momentarily, before he merely shakes his head and sighs, relaxing himself. “Well… it’s fine, I guess. We were going to have to tell them eventually, especially since we’re going to be moving in together soon.”
“Is that why we haven’t hung out at your place lately?” Eric asks, a hand running through Changmin’s hair.
“Yeah,” Kevin smiles slightly. “I’ve been packing up all my stuff first so I can help Haknyeon with his stuff. We have a place picked out already—the moving date is a month and a half away.”
“You guys have really been busy, huh,” Chanhee finally speaks, though his face is lightly mushed against Jacob’s side. “You’re really already like a married couple. I hope that you guys will make it official some day, so we can actually witness it, instead of your marriage being in the form of drunken signatures from some casino chapel in Los Angeles.”
Haknyeon agrees. He smiles and lets out a soft laugh, especially as Kevin comes up behind him and hugs him, his arms squeezing his middle. Haknyeon leans back into it as he turns his head, his smile turning into a grin as Kevin kisses the underside of his jaw. Maybe one day, he thinks, it’ll be a lot more official than just two cheap rings, a certificate with half their drunken signatures, and a bouquet of flowers that constantly needs replacing.
There’s a saying about life: “Stop and smell the roses.”
It means to stop and take in the details about your life, to try and examine them from a different angle. Haknyeon thinks he’s done that enough in his life, honestly. Before, he wouldn’t have been able to gather enough strength or courage to confront Kevin—especially about their previous one night stand. He’d always thought that would be the end of it, and though he only remembers it partially, Haknyeon doesn’t have many regrets about it. He’s examined his life from multiple angles, but always drew up short when it came to Kevin.
Now, he doesn’t need to stop and smell the roses. Wherever his life plans on taking him is where he will go, and it’s okay if they hit some bumps in the road, and it’s alright that they’re doing this whole relationship thing a little backwards. They’re working through it, together, and Haknyeon is ready to take that leap with him.
