Jinx chuckled to herself scrolling through the comments. It was a long car ride to Scotland from London and she really did not feel like speaking to Cassandra's driver, Albert. He was nice, but she wanted to seem more upset than she was so maybe he'd tell Cassandra and help get it into her head that Jinx did not want to go.
She was doing just fine in that tiny private school where she didn't have to deal with anyone, but apparently she had to start taking on her role as the Crown Princesses in law.
Really, Jinx didn't even get why she had to be a part of things. It was her sisters marriage, not hers. She could be back in New York, with her real friends, not having to worry about any 'royal duties'.
But here she was anyways.
In a protected limo that had more gadgets than a house should, reading comments about her on a blog about her, on her way to Piltover secondary. About to meet just about every other royal her age, along with uber rich kids and the extremely gifted.
She didn't really know anyone yet. She knew their names, where they were from, who did what. Caitlyn had made sure she did. But the only person she had actually spoken to before was Ezreal Hallam. She wasn't really friends with him, just aquatinted. They'd had to sit next to each other during a party neither of them wanted to be at, they'd barley exchanged words.
But it was better than nothing. He seemed a little awkward but decent enough, especially considering he silently endured Jinx throwing grapes at him.
She doubted she would, but she hoped she'd get along with at least a couple of people. They were probably all stuck up, born rich, brats, who wouldn't be able to stand Jinx. She already knew how many parties that had been held with almost everyone going to the school, that she only knew about through the internet.
It wasn't her thing anyways.
Of course she was anxious about going to Piltover. She covered it up as best she could, but she was totally anxious about it. Not just the not knowing any of the privileged assholes, but grades, living, and not getting executed. She was pretty sure they could execute her if they hated her enough.
She wouldn't stop her usual behaviour to keep them from hating her of course. But she'd be living in the same hall as a lot of girls that would more likely hate her than not.
As for grades, if a bunch of dumb royals who had no real inertest in anything other than money and power, she could pass too. She is as probably going to be the smartest one there.
It still somehow worried her.
But fear and worry would do nothing to help her. That's why she'd make sure to establish that she was not to be messed with right off the bat.
Strangers online weren't wrong about their predictions, and hell, some of their ideas were even inspiring.
***
Jinx stepped out of the Limo onto to the cobble drive of the school, standing in front of what looked like an entire castle, but was really just the dorms. She stretched out, her bones cracking from the long ride.
As always, it was cold and cloudy. She'd known that England was like that, but she didn't know that it was literally almost always cloudy, which of course came with rain and absurd humidity.
There was a few limos and nice cars pulled up to the dorms already, the drivers having to do all the work of course. Jinx didn't even see anyone that was actually a student helping unload their things.
She just groaned and ignored it, walking around the limo to help Albert unload her things. She could do her own shit, even with servants.
Her suitcases, despite being fairly new thanks to Caitlyn and her need to have her over prepared, we're slightly destroyed. Jinx had made a sled out of them and gone down the stairs in them, plus added some stickers. They still worked though, which was all that mattered.
As she set down a case, she looked up to see Ezreal walking towards her with a man dressed in a suit, likely working for him. Jinx grinned at him and waved as he approached, not worrying about her outfit, which was much less formal than what her was wearing. Flannel shorts, long scooby doo socks with slides, and a too small Limp Bizkit hoodie she got from target, versus his outfit which made him look like a fancy waiter.
At least she didn't look like a massive dork.
"Ez! What's up? You look like a massive dork! Was I supposed to dress up?!" She asked, shoving one of her bags into his chest
"Here help me out." She added before he could even open his mouth to speak.
"I- yeah. Okay. Uhm..welcome to Piltover. I'm just dressed up because I'm helping people get situated.. and it's just manners I suppose."
Jinx nodded, as she picked up bags in both her hands and standing up straight.
"Cool, thanks. Where's my room?"
Ezreal sighed, taking the clip board from his guards hand, holding it in his free hand.
"Follow me. I'll give you a tour of the rooms, halls, get you caught up on rules and the dining schedule."
Jinx grimaced. It sounded way too fancy already.
"Hm. Great. Let's go, it's nasty out here."
Ezreal quickly followed along side Jinx up to the huge wooden doors of the entrance. He awkwardly flipped through the papers on the clip board, probably skipping all the history bits knowing better than to waste his breath on that.
"So, boys dorms are that way," He started as they stepping into the building, pointing off down the right hall.
"Girls are not allowed on hall unless they're family or given written permission from staff."
"Can I go down there for like..tag?" Jinx asked, just wanting to pester him a little.
And it worked. He gave a really weird look.
"Uhm..no? A-anyways, this way is the girls hall. I have written permission, by the way." He clarified walk down the left hall.
Jinx followed, grimacing at just about every piece of decor she saw. Weird paintings of old dead people, the terrible floral wall paper, the weird carpet that she could even identify the pattern of.
While looking at the floor, she noticed the amazing opportunity to flat tire Ezreal. He wasn't even paying attention. What an idiot.
She walked directly behind him, matching his walking speed and which foot went when. She then took a big step forward on to the back of his shoe, perfectly flat tiring him.
No response.
He just kept walking, not even bothering to fix his fancy shoe. Maybe they trained him to not react. Or he was just good at holding it together. Likely the latter.
He pushed through the frosted glass door, entering the hall of identical wooden doors, all with singular name plates outside of them.
"Okay so, on the first floor is for people who pay to be here. You might recognise some of the names here, they're all pretty well known for their families and stuff.." Ezreal said showing her the clip board.
She did know most of the people from what she'd had to research. Those rising to fame pop stars, Evelynn, Kai'sa, Ahri, Akali. A few other rich girls she'd read about as well. There was one new name she didn't notice.
"Who's Seraphine? I haven't heard of her."
"Oh, she's with Evelynn's group. They actually payed for her yknow? Apparently she's really good at singing."
"Damn" she whispered. They were seriously loaded.
Ezreal quietly agreed before moving on into the elevator. Jinx had never gone to a boarding school, but she was pretty sure having an elevator inside the dorms was fancy. It wasn't even a gross elevator like the ones in parking garages.
She could see it coming in use for some pranks. Maybe some fart spray, or tuck a speaker into the top and play the most absurd music she could find. Make it a little less awkward.
The elevator dinged as it reached the second floor, and as the doors opened Jinx could immediately see was different than the first floor. Different wall paper, just as ugly. The floors were carpeted in solid red, and the doors were a little bit cooler, having a rounded top with little metal accessories on them.
"Woah. This is nice." Jinx said running up to one of the doors and trying to see inside through the peephole. Ezreal followed behind her, actually smiling a little bit.
"This is the hall for STEM students. They come here free. It's my favourite hall, I like the decor." He said showing Jinx the clipboard of names.
She recognised all of them, she actually liked reading about them. STEM was definitely her jam, and she wouldn't mind having a few smart friends, especially if they weren't raised rich like everyone else in the building.
"Cool. It's ugly. You're weird." Jinx smiled trotting back to the elevator and pressing the button, not caring to wait for Ezreal to respond. He just stuttered a start to a sentence but gave up. Smart.
Stepping into the elevator, Jinx set down on of her bags and fished her phone from her pocket. She pulled up a blank contact, then snatched the clipboard from Ezreal as he stood next to her.
"Put your number in, we're gonna be friends." She said shoving the phone into his hand. He gave her a skeptical look but starting typing in his number anyways.
Jinx happily hummed, she already made a friend. That made Ezreal exempt from any pranks, which he didn't know yet. He'd be grateful.
Jinx then looked down out the clipboard, flipping to the of who was on her floor to save Ezreal some time. Of course, everyone in her hall was a big name, Senna Kaye, Leona Targon, Luxanna Crownguard. People that just about everyone In the world could name.
She'd never really been one for reading magazines, but once she'd heard that her sister was dating the crown princess of England, she'd looked through a few with the most enticing tabloids. Most were plastered with the American royal family, but once she'd moved to London there was a lot more.
She was advised not to, but they were way too funny to not read.
"There, try not to text me anything weird, my parents keep a very close eye on my activity and you aren't exactly...a role model."
Jinx grinned taking her phone back and giving him the clipboard, almost bursting out laughing at the cheesy selfie he took for his contact picture.
"Don't worry, I'll send tons of incriminating stuff." She said sliding her phone back into her pocket and grabbing her bag.
Ezreal sighed and nodded
"Great."
The elevator dinged and the doors opened, and not surprisingly, it was way more fancy than the other floors. Solid wood wall trim, fancy ass wallpaper, red and gold patterned carpets. And it was definitely bigger, each door had its own groove.
She was pretty sure they were supposed to be treated equally, but clearly that wasn't happening.
"So uhm, your floors bathroom is at the end of the hall, next to vending, and your dorm mom is Senna. She'll keep you all in check. There's a list of rules and stuff waiting in your room that she'll enforce." Ezreal explained, awkwardly getting a key out of his pocket while holding both Jinx's bag and the clipboard in one hand.
"Here, you're this way." He said giving her the key and beginning to walk down the hall.
Jinx followed, reading every name plate to see who was in which room, she noticed the smaller and less powerful countries had the worse rooms in the middle. Totally not fair, but whatever. She'd get a nice spot.
"This one." Ezreal said stopping at the very last door on the left. It was a good distance from the vending machines, hopefully enough so she didn't have to hear people hitting it at night. Next to her room was Neeko, who she'd heard was actually pretty cool.
Across was the American Princess, Luxanna, or Lux as everyone called her online.
Hopefully neither of them were loud, that was Jinx's job.
Jinx stuck they key in and turned it, opening the heavy wooden door into a room that wasn't actually huge. It was actually really small.
A twin bed perfectly tucked between two walls, a desk area in front of the window, a four by four of open space, a closet, and some storage shelves.
Totally reminded her of New York. Out of the places she'd stayed in, this was a pretty good size. She could definitely make do with it.
"Sweet, it's pretty big!" She said throwing her bags onto the mattress, taking the bag from Ezreal and adding it to the pile.
"Not a lot of people think so, there's actually a lot of complaints."
Jinx hummed looking around for any little hidden details of the room. There wasn't any. Storage space under the bed, and a few outlets. Nothing interesting.
"I don't see anything worth complaining over. Big enough for a small party."
"Parties aren't allowed, thats part of way they're so small."
Jinx snorted and turned to him
"You don't look like the type of guy to not like parties."
Ezreal actually smiled, chuckling a little. Definitely a frat boy. No one loosens up so much at the mere mention of a party like that, other than a high school frat boy.
"Yeah, we find our own ways to have parties. The campus is huge, it's got a few abandoned buildings actually."
"I can get you guys stuff if I'm invited, I've got a talent for acquiring anything needed." Jinx offered.
She'd stolen everything from toiletries to drugs for people, and that was just for some extra money.
But this she could really benefit from.
She wasn't really a party person, but she loved them. Not going to them, but the things she could do while everyone was distracted.
A win win.
"I'll talk to the guys, see what they think. I'm sure they won't turn down an offer like that." Ezreal grinned. Considering his excitement the 'guys' were probably all seniors who he really wanted to impress. If Ezreal were able to impress them, he'd have her to thank, which would really secure her place as his friend.
It was perfect.
"Good, get me a list and it's yours. Now get out, I'm about to make this room a lot less boring."
Ezreal quickly nodded, taking a paper off of the clip board and handing it to her
"Dining schedule, don't be late it counts as an absence. I'll see you around!" He said, hastily leaving, but shutting the door very softly to avoid a bang.
Weirdo. But he would be beneficial.
Jinx looked around the empty room, planning in her head where she wanted what. She'd brought posters, and some cool lights that were technically for christmas trees. She even brought some plant seeds, she didn't know what they'd grow, or if they'd live, but Caitlyn said it would make it more comfortable.
Of course she'd brought her own bedding and pillow, because black and white zombie flowers was way more fun than just the provided blue sheets. She had her laptop, a bright ass night light, and some books she kept just because the spines looked cool.
Mostly, she'd just brought junk. Hopefully form mother Senna didn't have an issue with useless clutter.
The lights were a bit of a struggle setting up, but otherwise everything else was easy. It barley took her two hours to get everything perfectly in place yet out of order. She even made sure to throw some legos on the ground just for anyone who tried coming in her room bare foot.
Once she was done, she took a singular minute to lay on her terribly made bed, that actually was a pretty nice mattress, before grabbing her phone. The moment she turned it on she grimaced at the missed call notification.
Yeah, it was just one. But it was an important one.
She was supposed to call Cassandra as soon as she got there, and she knew how important it was to her that she did that.
And of course she'd forgotten.
Jinx sighed as she called back, hoping it would be picked up, Cassandra was usually on a pretty tight schedule.
No answer.
She probably cut out that piece of time specifically to call. That sucked, big time.
Jinx quickly sent a text instead, knowing it wouldn't mean as much, but she had to at least explain herself.
Really, she loved Cassandra. While Caitlyn and Vi were off being together and ignoring Jinx, Cassandra and Tobias were the ones who actually made an effort to bond with her, despite her being very difficult.
Instead of Vi being the one doing stuff on her birthday, it was Cassandra. Instead of Vi helping her adjust to things, it was Cassandra. Instead of Vi informing her of how to handle the media and what and what not to say, shocker, it was Cassandra.
She was the best mother figure Jinx had ever know. For once in her life she felt like she had someone to try to behave for. Someone she had to make proud.
Of course she wouldn't give up doing what she wanted, but she'd make a small effort to not be incredibly chaotic.
Or at least not get caught.
***
One day was all Jinx could bare just waiting in her room for Monday. She'd spent all of Friday sitting around and buying out sour patch kids from all of the vending machines she could find, and made sure to call Cassandra at the designated time, which they'd agree would be eight at night.
She was supposed to meet Senna later, but she had to find something else to do. Of course she could always knock on random doors and run, or set up wire on the trails to trip runners.
She would have done that, but a much more interesting opportunity presented itself first.
She had gone out of her room to get some more candy from the vending machine, haven't having had a real meal since she left London. She could just call Albert to deliver some, but she could wait until Monday.
The walls were thankfully pretty thick, and she wouldn't be surprised is they were soundproofed, but the doors had the tiniest cracks underneath them.
Once Jinx had gotten her skittles, she was about to go back into her room when she heard the frantic meowing of a cat coming from underneath the door across from her.
She turned around to see a little blond paw reaching under the door. Jinx smiled and walked towards it, crouching down and petting its tiny paw with a finger.
"You're all alone in there, huh?" Jinx whispered glancing up at the name plate. Lux. Right.
If she didn't have the time to spend with her cat, she probably wouldn't notice. If she was out at eleven in the morning, she surely had enough friends to keep her occupied.
Plus, it would be a great start to messing with people.
Jinx stood up, trying to turn the knob, but of course it was locked. Which was fine, she had the necessary things.
"Stay put, I'll get you out of there."
Jinx quickly went back into her room, tossing the skittles onto her desk a grabbing her lock pick set and her own room key. She'd learned from some cheap hotels that universal keys weren't uncommon. A lot of people were just to lazy to make different ones.
She shut her door quietly as she walking back to Lux's door, glancing around the hall way before trying her key.
Jinx chuckled at it clicked into place. The school probably did it not expecting such high and mighty people to stoop to such lows.
Carefully she opened the door, pushing the cat back from escaping into the hall as she slipped in. She dramatically gasped picking up the solid blond cat, bringing it up to her face and kissing it's head.
"You are adorable! How could someone be so cruel leaving you alone all day?!" She asked shuffling to hold him in one arm, making sure to support his weight.
She glanced around the room, which in her opinion, was decorating very poorly. Everything was white or a pastel, and it was insanely clean. Not even a crumb on the floor. The trash was taken out, the desk was wiped, the shelves dusted, and the clothes on said shelves were so neatly stacked it was inhuman.
There was a single ball on the floor for the cat, and a tiny littler box concealed under the desk.
"God this is terrible, I bet you hate in here dude." She whispered to him, a grin slowly finding itself on her face
"Why don't we leave your mom a little gift huh? Drive her OCD or whatever's wrong with her wild?"
He meowed, crawling onto her shoulders and positioning himself like a scarf.
Jinx took that as a yes.
She started by taking every CD that was neatly stacked on the shelf and switching the discs into the incorrect case. A classic.
Next, she unfolded every single piece of clothing, tossing them into the bed. Once every thing on the shelf was on the bed, she set the cat on them and wrinkled them as much as possible.
Once she was done with her chaos, she wrapped the cat back around her neck, grabbing his litter box and a can of food and headed back for the door. She glanced back at work once more, chuckling at the mess she'd made. It wasn't her best work, but it would definitely do.
Carefully she opened the door, peeking both way before tip toeing across the hall to her room. She opened the door, and the cat immediately jumped down, sniffing around. Jinx quietly shut the door behind her and set down the litter box, kicking it into the middle of the room.
"Alright little dude, what's your name?" Jinx asked clicking the lock on her door and sitting down on the floor next to it, watching the cat explore.
She had to name him something cool. Something totally awesome. She thought of all the cool TV's shows, every blond, anything absurd.
Then she got it.
"Ziggy!" Jinx grinned. Like Ziggy Stardust. He was a funny looking cat, so it was fitting.
Ziggy looked up at her with his mouth slightly open like he'd smelt something gross, and he did, there was a dirty sock on the floor.
"You gotta get used to that, your old mom was a clean freak, but I like it messy."
She scooted closer to him, scratching along his back, smiling at him. He would be perfect to keep her entertained until Monday.
Jinx picked him up and tossed him onto the bed, sitting next to him with her skittles.
"Want some?" She asked holding out a handful of skittles.
Ziggy just curled up on her pillow and yawned.
Jinx spent the rest of the day either playing with Ziggy, or looking out of the peep hole to wait and see Lux react to her missing. She wondered if she'd guess it was Jinx, though she didn't know her. She was the most likely person to have done it, and probably the only person who would've done it.
But it was whatever, she stole a cat from someone who didn't seem to care much about it.
She'd already given him the can of food she snagged, and didn't really know what else to give it. She looked it up and it turns out cats shouldn't have skittles, or any thing else that's in the vending machines except for the little hams inside the lunchables.
She'd never had a cat, so she just assumed she'd feed it as much as it wanted.
So she bought out the lunchables, and gave Ziggy all the meat and cheese. He seemed to be enjoying it, he even ate some of the crackers.
She also noticed he slept a lot, which was annoying because he was supposed to keep her company. She could only really get him up for food.
Of course, her luck being so great, just as he was getting up and starting to want to play some, there was a knock on her door. Her immediate thought was that it was Lux, already having figured it out that Jinx took her cat.
She skipped to the door, not bothering to check through the peephole, and swinging it wide open read to see a red with anger princess.
But instead she was greeted by the bored face of Senna. She was dressed casually, thankfully. Like she was about to go out in the city, but still pretty normal, no dress or suit.
"Hi." Jinx said sticking out one hand and holding onto the door frame with the other. She was careful to block as much of her view as possible, she wasn't getting busted with Lux's cat just yet.
"Hello Jinx." Senna said flatly shaking her hand, and wiping it off on her pants. No offense taken, Jinx hadn't showered yet and probably smelt pretty bad.
"So, mom, what's up?" Jinx asked not knowing how she was supposed to 'meet' her. She couldn't tell if she was cool or a prick yet, so she had to gauge that before actually talking to her.
"Don't call me that, Senna is fine in the dorms. I just need to be sure you read that rules and that you aren't insane."
Jinx chuckled a little. She read them, just to be sure she could go out of her way to break them.
"I read them. Cant promise I'm not insane though."
Senna sighed and nodded, tilting her head to see past Jinx
"I can see there's a mess from here. You do know you it's a rule you have to keep it clean, right?"
"Psshh, yeah! I was just about to clean it but lost track of time yknow? I'll get on it as soon as we're done."
Senna nodded
"You should shower as well, you stink. Terribly. Your room does too, no candles or incense allowed, just find a way to fix it."
Well, at least she was honest. Jinx was leaning towards not a prick. She respected honesty, no matter who it was from. Usually.
"Yes ma'am. You smell strongly too, by the way. Tone down the perfume, you'll give someone a headache with that."
Senna hummed, not seeming to take offence.
"I'll keep that in mind. That will be all."
"See ya mom." Jinx said quickly shutting the door. Nailed it.
Senna seemed like a decent person. Hopefully she wouldn't enforce the rules too harshly, she didn't seem like the type of person who'd pardon more than once.
Cleaning up a little wouldn't be hard, throw trash away, clear her desk a little, make her bed. That should be enough. She would get to it. At some point.
Jinx threw herself back down onto her bed, Ziggy climbing onto her chest and sitting in the most painful way possible. She scooted him aside a little, not willing to deal with that for the,
She checked her phone,
Five minutes until she would call Cassandra.
She didn't really have much to talk about, other than Senna. Obviously she couldn't tell her about the cat, which had turned out to be the real excitement of the day. Maybe Cassandra had done something cool, or just had gossip about Caitlyn and Vi. That was always fun. She was just as annoyed by them as Jinx was sometimes.
Jinx waited for her phone to ring, and picked it up immediately when Cassandra's contact popped up.
"Hello dear." The queens voice came through the phone, almost making her already strong accent seem stronger.
"Hi Cass" Jinx replied, scratching Ziggy's chin so he'd keep quiet.
"How was your day? Did your meet with the lady Senna go well?"
"Mhm, she was actually pretty cool. I might be friends with her later."
"Good. Have you met anyone else yet?"
Jinx mumbled a no, chuckling a little as Ziggy meowed for more petting.
"Jinx?"
"Hm? What?"
"Was that a cat?"
Oh. Shit.
Jinx set her phone down, glaring at Ziggy. Of course he was loud at the worse time. Little asshole.
"It wasn't...not a cat?"
She heard Cassandra sigh, then some shuffling.
"Please tell me that Is not Princess Luxanna's cat."
Jinx furrowed her eyebrows
"Yeah. Yeah it is. H-How did you know that?" Jinx asked. Maybe there was cameras? She thought she'd checked.
"Word got out I suppose. People are having quite a bit of fun with it online."
Jinx threw her head back and groaned. Maybe Lux did care about her cat if she was going to throw a fit about it this soon.
"I'm sorry. I heard him meowing so I just took him. I-I didn't think it would get out so quick."
"Jinx, did you forget to take your medicine?"
"Just this morn-"
"You can't forget Jinx. You act even more impulsively without it. You promised you wouldn't stop, and I trust you make good on your word."
Jinx grit her teeth. She hated that. But she was right.
"I'm sorry, I just forgot. It won't happen again."
Cassandra hummed.
"Good. Now go give that poor girl her cat back,"
She paused and took a long breath.
"I understand you forget Jinx. I'm sorry if I seem harsh, but you really must think about consequences."
"That won't stop me, but I won't steal another cat." Jinx chuckled hearing Cassandra sigh again.
"Don't do anything so personal again. The media eats that up especially."
"No promises."
She wouldn't lie to her, and Cassandra knew that.
"I love you Jinx. Please give that cat back."
"Yeah, okay. Love you too."
The phone disconnected, and Jinx stared at the screen for a moment before tossing her phone across the room, groaning into hands.
What a disaster.
She launched her self out of the bed, chasing Ziggy into a corner and picking him up, being him to her face.
"Nice going you little asshole. Now you have to go back to your mean mom. I'm not saving you again."
Ziggy sneezed
"You're not even that cute. And blondes are stupid."
Ziggy stared at her flatly, not reacting to anything she said.
Jinx sighed and threw him over her shoulder, loudly stomping towards and out the door. She peeked out into the dark hall before opening the door, continuing to stomp as she made her way across the hall.
She didn't even bothering knocking, going straight for the knob and pushing Lux's door wide open.
There Lux sat at her desk, fixing her CD's. She immediately turned at the sound of her door opening.
She was just how she looked in every single magazine cover she was in, just no makeup. Her hair was up, which was a little uncharacteristic. She always had it up in literally everything she was on.
Jinx changed her gaze to the room, looking at the clothes neatly folded on the shelf again, and the bedspread flattened without a single crease.
Totally a clean freak.
Wordlessly, Jinx dropped Ziggy onto the floor, she was sure not to take a single step in. Ziggy immediately ran up to his mom, brushing across her legs. Which Lux ignored.
God would it kill her to pet the damn cat?
Jinx glared at Lux, and Lux glared back. Jinx scoffed and slammed the door shut.
That too, was breaking a rule.

Lux looked down at Bishop, who was desperately meowing for attention. She glanced at the CD she was working on cleaning the smudges from the Kiramman's fingers. It was seriously a pain.
She'd make sure he was okay as soon as she was done with her CD's
But then the door flew open. Again.
And there was Jinx. Again.
She dropped the litter box she had forgotten to return the first time on the floor, sending litter everywhere.
"Hey-!" Lux started before the door was slammed again.
She quietly swore to herself. Of course there was no use in speaking.

Monday morning Jinx's phone alarm blared into her ear at seven in the morning on the dot. She tapped it off at a few failed attempts, sitting up in frustration. She had breakfast in forty-five minutes and didn't plan on being late. She would have her time to shine with an outstanding number of abscesses later.
She rolled out of her bed, literally. She fell to the floor, which wasn't too painful since the bed was no more that a foot above the ground. She sluggishly pulled out the drawers under the bed and grabbed a clean uniform.
She really hated the uniforms, they were ugly and stiff. Red skirt, that was of course, fucking plaid. Because it was England.
Other than the skirt it was a pretty basic uniform. White button up, almost black blazer, red tie.
She did not know how to tie a tie, so she'd just let it hang.
The really annoying part about the uniform was changing in and out of it through out the day. The outdoor classes all had their separate ones, but at least those were comfortable. Shorts and a Piltover sweater.
She packed it all into a bag, so that she'd be able to grab it when she was done with breakfast.
First though, she had to shower.
The good thing she'd learnt over the weekend was totally private showers within the bathroom. Real walls, real doors, no grime. Nothing like the gym showers in New York schools.
She didn't even run into anyone except Neeko, who seemed to be in her own world. Jinx almost bumped into because of how short she was, which was shocking since Jinx was only five foot three. Neeko had to be four eight or nine. She was just glad she wasn't the shortest.
Once she was finished, she dressed, braided her hair, and very quickly made her way down to the dining hall with only a minute to spare before the bell would ring.
The dining hall was a single table stretching through the whole room. It was almost lit completely with natural light since it had such high ceilings. Most of the class of the roof was stained, making the whole room that much cooler. Not to mention the Sagrada like architecture.
Almost everyone was already sat, a plate of breakfast in front of them. She would've sat at the empty chair with the STEM students, but unfortunately she found that seats were assigned, as a name plate was on each chair.
The only other empty chair was next to all the other royalty. Worse, across from Lux. She still hadn't spoke a word to her, though Lux has tried. She didn't feel like being responsible and dealing with it, nor would she ever.
She decided to suck it up and act like she'd never taken that cat.
She pulled out the chair, sitting down and roughly scooting in. She slumped in the chair, glaring directly across the table at Lux, who glanced at her but ignored it as best she could.
The bell rang after only a few seconds, followed by the loud clicking of heels, which always meant some important lady who had a lot of keys and authority was coming.
"Girls,"
Jinx whipped her gaze away from Lux at the ridiculously proper accent of the woman who had walked in. There stood Mel Medarda, the woman from a long line of English nobles. Also, the current principal.
"Welcome to your first day at Piltover. It's a first for many of you, though a few of you did start sophomore year. I trust you have all thoroughly read the rules, and will obey them as stated in the papers you've signed."
Jinx had come to learn signing those papers means nothing. Or at least nothing that had effected her before.
"If you have any questions or complaints you can always come to my office, which is directly to the left in the main building. Or just email. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a tight schedule." She ended, walking out of the room as quickly as she'd entered it.
The whole room was silent for a moment, until resuming whatever conversations they were already having.
Jinx looked down at her plate, which had eggs, toast, grits, and a whole lot of fruit. She cringed a little at the grits, the smell alone disgusted her. She did like toast though, but who didn't?
Jinx looked at her grits again, then across the table towards Lux. A grin of pure evil grew on Jinx's face as she looked at Lux's grits.
Yeah, the principal did just walk out. And yeah, she'd probably be seeing her again soon.
"Hey, blondie." Jinx whispered across the table, immediately grabbing Lux's attention.
"Would you consider yourself to be the type of person to throw grits at someone?"
Lux's scrunched her nose in confusion
"What?"
Jinx quickly reached across the table, taking a large handful of Lux's grits, and flinging it onto her self. She stumbled back, causing her chair to fall as if really shocked. She could feel the entire table looking, which was perfect.
"Dude!" Jinx shrieked, wiping a fat glob of grits from her cheek. She struggled not to laugh at the shock growing on Lux's face as she realised what she was doing.
"What the hell?!" She shouted flicking a chunk at Lux.
The entire table silently watched, looking between the two of them. Lux glared up at her, ignoring the grit that had landed on her uniform.
The other girls began to whisper, loud enough for Jinx to get that none of them had actually seen if Lux had thrown it. It probably wasn't like her.
Lux took another second glaring at Jinx before standing and storming off out of the dining hall. Jinx watched her leave, sitting back down in her chair as soon as the door closed. A few people looked at her, but minded their own business after a minute.
Now all she would have to do was wait.

"Thank you for not making me chase you down, Jinx." Mel greeted in her silky voice.
Lux was sat in one of the two chairs in front of the principal's desk, glaring at Jinx as she walked in.
It had only taken about twenty minutes before she was called down to the main building over the speakers.
She assumed Lux had already told her story, but that wouldn't stop her from messing around a little more. It's not like she'd admit guilt to Mel.
"Of course, I wouldn't keep you waiting ma'am." Jinx smiled, making sure to glance at Lux, who just scowled back.
"I assume this is about Her Highness over here flinging grits at me?" Jinx asked sitting down in the seat next to Lux.
"It is. Though what I've heard is you've flung grits on yourself." Mel said watching her closely.
Jinx widened her eyes, tilting her head a little
"What? Why would I do that? I fuckin hate grits."
"Language. And Lux informed me your reason was that you don't like her face."
Jinx quickly looked over at Lux, who smirked at her a little before switching back to her scowl.
What the fuck?
Jinx gaped at her before turning back to Mel.
"What?! I don't have an issue with her face! That's total bull!" Jinx shouted
Mel sighed reclining into her chair, tapping her pen against the table.
"Then what am I to believe? The princess with a spotless record or..." Mel looked her up and down.
Jinx scoffed at her, crossing her arms.
Of course. Totally bias. She hadn't even done anything at the school yet, except steal a cat, which Mel didn't seem to know.
"That's totally unfair. I haven't even done anything! How do you know I'm not a changed woman?" Jinx protested, passing a glare to Lux, who seemed fully content with the way the situation was going.
Mel hummed, looking between the two of them.
"What would you have done then?" She asked Jinx.
"I dunno, punish her?" Jinx suggested in an obvious tone. It was obvious. Lux wasn't the one who still had grit crust on her face.
"And Lux? What do you think?" Mel asked turning to Lux, who smiled sweetly. Too sweetly.
"Punish her for slander?"
Mel chuckled a little, crossing her arms.
"Well then. I suppose we agree then. You'll both be punished."
"What?!" They shouted in unison. She didn't know why Lux was 'what'-ing, she obviously deserved it since she was the one who flung the grits.
"You both think the other should be punished. It's only right. You can both take time out of your nights to clean the kitchen. "
Jinx groaned throwing her head back dramatically. She just heard Lux sigh.
"Will it be in turns then? One night I clean, the next she?" Lux asked while Jinx collected herself
"No, you'll be doing it together. We can't have conflicts between students, especially students with such influence. You'll be done with your duties when I've determined there's no issue."
"Fuck." Jinx sighed rubbing her hands down her face in agony. Hell knows how long it would take for her to determine that. She wasn't so sure she'd have much luck with Lux, but she was sure it would totally suck.
"Again, Jinx. Please watch your language."
Jinx ignored her, glancing over to Lux again, who looked just as pissed to hear they'd be sharing at least an hour every night in the same room. She was totally gonna blame it on Jinx to.
Rightfully so, but still a pain in the ass.
"Now. I trust you two will be in the kitchen by seven. I'll have someone check on you to make sure you're not killing each other. But for now, get on with your day's, without any more trouble if possible."
Jinx shot one more glare at Lux before standing up and grabbing her bag.
"Shouldn't be an issue ma'am. Don't tell Cass though?" Jinx asked grimacing.
"I won't be contacting either of your guardians. As long as you keep it together."
"Sweet, thanks , you're the best, bye!" Jinx shouted slamming the door behind her as she twirled out.
Now to get to her jog, which she thankfully missed the first half of.

Classes were dreadful, to say the least. Even when they got to go to the stables it totally blew because it was raining and they could actually ride yet.
Plus, she shared multiple classes with Lux. Actually most of her classes, they only didn't share two out of seven.
On the bright side however, she did have most of her classes with Ezreal, who seemed a little less uptight then the when she'd arrived. He introduced her to a few of his friends, who didn't seem to like her as much as he did, but it didn't matter.
Her teachers were alright, she knew a few of them through Caitlyn, but the one who caught her eye was the Bio teacher, Viktor. He didn't go by Mr or anything either, which is an obvious sign he was going to be cool.
Even better, she liked biology, and even even better, Lux wasn't in that class.
She'd decided it would be her favourite class for the rest of the semester.
The day didn't end till six, at dinner. Thankfully Jinx didn't even have to try to get a different seat, as one of the STEM girls had moved into her spot. Orianna, if she remembered right.
She'd have to thank her later, though she was probably just friends with Lux and was doing her a favour.
That meant she got to sit with the STEM group, who were the most likely to get along with her. Right next to her was a green haired girl, Zeri Kim, and on her left was Taliyah Klein.
Back home, her and Ekko both obsessed over their accomplishments. They were kind of nerds.
She managed to talk to them, a little, they seemed a bit skeptical about her. She made sure to tell them there was nothing to worry about, probably. Other than their scepticism, they seemed cool. Taliyah even gave Jinx her number when she asked for it, but Zeri 'forgot' hers.
Still a success.
Of course, the time of day she dreaded most came after dinner.
The kitchen was huge, and really, wasn't that dirty. It smelt of the string beef they'd had for dinner.
Lux had already been in there about ten minutes, so with the clean freak tendencies Jinx had already observed, it probably was a lot dirtier a few minutes ago.
Without a word, Jinx grabbed a clean rag, wet it, and started dragging it along the counters, leaving a long trail of water.
"Stop that. You're making it worse," she heard Lux say from across the room before she could even get very far
"Go take out the trash." She ordered walking to Jinx and snatching the wet rag from her.
Jinx scoffed and pushed off the counter, slouching as she walked towards the garbage and started tying the bags up.
If she opened her mouth, she'd probably make things a hell of a lot worse.
Jinx ignored the stench of the garbage and dragged the bags behind her out of the kitchen exit, letting all the cold night air blast her in the face. Goosebumps immediately crawled over every inch of exposed skin. The door slammed shut behind her as she tossed the bags into the dumpster.
She quickly went back to the door to return to warmth, turning the handle.
The handle didn't turn. Jinx took a deep breath.
She locked her out.
"Fuck!" She shouted, kicking the door, sending herself stumbling back a little.
Regaining balance, she crossed her arms for warmth, tucking her hands into her armpits. She looked around for another entry, but didn't see one.
Meaning, she'd have to walk all the way around to the front of the building in the cold dark.
She really hated the dark.
"Fuck." She murmured to herself.
She pulled out her phone light, did her best to suck it up, and started walking. She wanted to get back in as soon as she could. No way in hell was she helping Lux after that. Couldn't even make in five minutes in there. And, shockingly, it wasn't her fault at all.
How did she even have so many friends? She was a total dick. Yeah Jinx went after her first but she would've stopped.
Even America as a whole absolutely adored her, even people who hated the monarchy. Jinx had seen her on the cover of just about every teen modelling magazine, and actually use to think she could be cool.
Maybe she was. Maybe she just didn't tolerate people like Jinx.
Hopefully. But not really. Rivalry was a challenge Jinx would never turn down.
