Work Text:

Wine Glass smiled as he pulled out a note card labelled ELIMINATED in bold red ink. On closer inspection, it was actually just wine. It dripped to the floor in a steady pattern, tinging the grass scarlet.

"And the votes are in! The contestant leaving Anarchy Isle is..."

Everybody held their breaths subconsciously.

"...Taffy!" Wine Glass' grin was wide, fangs shining. Its wine swirled like it was a conscious entity, almost in joy. Taffy was shocked she had gotten out so early, but it was an escape from something she didn't want to be in anyway. Unfortunately, the only con is that she'd have to leave Angelite behind.

Taffy heard footsteps, and she turned to see Angelite running towards her. They had been placed pretty far away from eachother, so it had taken a while for the blue stone to catch up to her. "Oh, god- what do I even say? It's so early, I wasn't..." Angelite seemed so worried for her. Taffy placed a hand on her cheek, although flinching a little at the coldness of the touch.

"Although I didn't like it here, it was fun being with you. Hope we can see eachother again sometime soon..love you, my angel." She leaned in and kissed Angelite. Cold to the touch again, but it was warmer and filled with love. Soon after they broke the kiss apart.

"Love you too, hon..see you soon." Angelite had a soft yet small smile on her face. Taffy was going to miss them alot. She blinked back tears as she turned when Wine Glass called her name.

"Alright, alright, enough with the sap you two. Time for the elimination corner!" Wine Glass came over and grabbed her wrist, a little too roughly. Its claws dug into her. Suddenly, the air felt still as if something was going to happen.

Angelite had to resist the urge to go and rescue her and just run away, but something might happen to her or the both of them if she tried. Everyone seemed uneasy. Tension hung low in the air as Wine Glass dragged Taffy away to some other area. Angelite had reached out for her, but their arms dropped to their sides. They heard someone walking up to them, but didn't bother turning. They felt a hand on their shoulder.

"It'll be okay, promise." It was Broccoli. Her voice was gentle, trying to comfort them. Angelite shook her off. "I need to go after Taffy. Something isn't right."

The voice of Cotton Ball rang out loudly. "Go after her? Honestly Angelite, that has to be the worst idea by far. We don't even know what's gonna happen to her, and she could be just fine and sitting around in a corner. Just drop it."

Angelite swiveled towards him. "You don't know her like I do, okay?! For all we know, she could be getting hurt! She's my fucking girlfriend, Cotton Ball!" She yelled. And with that, she stormed off, leaving everybody in awkward silence. Cotton Ball scoffed and just went somewhere else. Broccoli and Wrench shared a nervous look, but they didn't try to stop them.

It took longer than she thought it would, but Angelite finally located the two in a far-off clearing. Wine Glass was talking to Taffy about something, but the candy seemed nervous and taking steps back occasionally, in which Wine Glass followed with getting closer to keep the distance equal. The wind blowed, sending a chill down Angelite. Something was going to happen. Something was going to happen to Taffy, and they didn't like this fact at all. As she got closer, she could overhear the conversation.

"Now, you know the deal for eliminations, don't you Taffy?" It was Wine Glass. It had a wide, unnerving grin, teeth bared in an almost predator-like fashion. He got closer.

Angelite realized with horror that Taffy was going to be Wine Glass' prey.

"NO! STOP! GET AWAY FROM HER!" Angelite rushed forward and shoved Wine Glass out of the way, spilling over some wine and staining the grass a bright red. Taffy watched in shock.

"Angelite, what are you doing-" Before she could get out another word, they both heard snarling and turned to see Wine Glass, who was furious.

Terror gripped the both of them, and they were frozen in spot. But not because their bodies were letting them.

Something was forcing them to stay.

Was it their undying fear for Wine Glass that truly couldn't let them run away?

Or was it the fact that Wine Glass had ensnared them, rendering them unable to run away?

"You know what? Fine. Be that way. I never liked you anyway."

Suddenly, Wine Glass began floating, the wind howling as its cape was battered by the sudden wind. The wine swirled violently, before it started transforming into something that made Angelite sick. Wine Glass was transforming into something that nobody should've had to see in their life. It drained the color out of both of their faces, yet they still couldn't move. A ghastly face, too horrifying to describe, began rushing towards them, and Angelite couldn't even tell if it was the wine, or Wine Glass itself.

Then, in a flash of panic, Angelite realized it wasn't heading for her.

It was heading straight for Taffy.

"TAFFY! RUN! GET OUT OF HERE!" Angelite screamed, and before she knew it, Taffy was running as fast as she could. But she was no match for the frighteningly swift and rapidly approaching horror, which enveloped her for only a quick moment. Angelite thought it was all over, but thr wine dissipated and showed Wine Glass, back to normal, holding Taffy by the wrapper.

Angelite was frozen in place.

"Hmmm, now that I think about it..." Wine Glass tapped its chin with a claw, it's voice almost distorted. "I was getting kind of..hungry. And I have the perfect treat."

Before anything else could happen, Wine Glass suddenly began tearing the wrapper off of Taffy, leaving shreds and bits of it everywhere carelessly, like she was nothing but food to it.

And that's exactly what she was.

Her pink candy body was exposed, and that was exactly what Wine Glass wanted. Angelite knew he wanted them to watch. She wanted to run. She wanted to get help.

But she couldn't.

"ANGELITE! R-" She couldn't even finish her sentence as Wine Glass sank its teeth into her, smiling so widely it shouldn't even be possible in any anatomical standards. Taffy screeched in pain as the entity that was Wine Glass sank its teeth deeper and deeper, pulling apart and tearing into her over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.

Angelite could only watch, horror and shock plastered on their face.

Wine Glass was tearing into her like a ravenous wolf, chewing and biting down and ripping and pulling like it was his last meal in weeks. Taffy was being horrifically stretched and contorted as Wine Glass kept devouring her. Soon it was the eyes, then the mouth, then nothing.

Taffy was gone.

Taffy was gone.

Taffy was  gone.

Wine Glass licked its lips, swallowing the last remains of Angelite's girlfriend. He turned toward them, fangs bared again in a threatening smile.

"Delicious! You should've had some, it was wonderful! Here, you can keep this." It tossed Angelite Taffy's wrapper, which was dyed a pinkish hue from the wine coating from the chase.

"Take that as a warning, Angelite."

And with that, he was gone.

Angelite could only stare in shock at what she was handed.
Then, she started shaking, sinking down to her knees as she wailed, tears falling onto the grass and streaming down their face. Sobs wracked their body and she couldn't stop crying, the wrapper crinkling in their hands as she balled their fists up before dropping it and, not knowing what to do, just fell to the floor and kept on bawling.

The panicked voices of Wrench and Broccoli and the slightly concerned voice of Cotton Ball barely made it through the ringing of her ears, but she could care less.

"We heard screaming, what-" Broccoli stopped mid-sentence as she took in the scene in front of her.

She connected the dots pretty quickly after seeing the wine and the empty wrapper where Taffy should be.

"oh, angelite dear, im so sorry..." She approached Angelite and pulled them into a hug, to which the blue stone did not decline, tightly hugging Broccoli back and weeping.

She could never bring Taffy back.

Their girlfriend was gone, and there was nothing she could do about it.
