Chapter Text

Bill Denbrough is a kind and thoughtful person. At least that's what Stan thinks. He is a leader, never scared to take action. And his eyes, oh his eyes. Bills eyes that are staring at Bev. Bill's eyes that are being stared at by Stan. Bills beautiful, gorgeous, perfect green ey-
“You're staring again.” Richie interrupts his thoughts by moving his head to block Bill.
“Huh, oh um..”
“Stop being gay, you’re ignoring the most interesting conversation ever. Never thought I'd be the one to say it, but you need to chill with being in love with your best friend for a minute.”
“What are you two whispering about over there?” The redhead sitting beside Richie asks.
“Gay stuff Bev, you wouldn't understand!” Richie exclaims as he dramatically turns away from Bev.
“Richie, leave Stan alone. Leave him out of your gay stuff.” Mike interjects from his seat beside Stan.
“Homophobia! Besides, Stanley is the one bothering me with gay stuff.” Richie loudly informs, causing Eddie to elbow him in the ribs.
“Rich, the whole cafeteria doesn't need to know about your gay stuff. Also you were the one who talked to Stan first. Now listen to Bev. She's telling a very detailed story about Henry getting punched in the face.” Eddie informs Richie, who is currently nursing his ‘injury’.
“Well jeez Eds, should've started with that and I would have been paying attention. Bev, continue.” Richie says with a flourish in Beverly's direction.
“Don't call me that.” Eddie complained.
“Ok Eddie Spaghetti.” Richie gives Eddie a playful grin as they lace their fingers together.
“And I’m too gay?” Stan judgmentally whispers to Richie.
As the conversation continues Stan never stops staring at Bill, who is still staring at Bev. Of course he is. It was obvious to Stan that Bill liked Bev ever since they first went to the Quarry together.
Stan watches Bill smile at Beverly, Stan also watches as something catches Bill's eye and his smile drops. His head turns to see the cause of the sudden change. His eyes land on Henry and Stan quickly whips his head back to stare forward.
“What's it with the head swivels Stan the Man?” Richie asks as he notices Stan's sudden movement. “Oh, the dickhead has arrived.”
“Have you little fags not learned your lesson.” he insults and gestures towards Eddie and Richies linked hands.
“Fuck off Bowers.” Beverly flips him off as she defends her friends.
“Or what lesbo?” Henry leans over Mike and Stan to threateningly glare at Beverly.
“Or I'll tell everyone what you and Patrick did last summer.”
Henry stares at her with a stunned expression before shaking his head and walking away from the group.
“What happened last summer?” Bill turns and confusedly asks.
“You don't wanna know.” Beverly shakes her head as the bell rings, signifying the end of lunch.
“Off to the finish the last day in hell before freedom.” Richie declares as he grabs his lunch and stands from his seat.
“Be quite Richie, there are teachers around!” Eddie scolds, the two exit the group bickering but still holding hands.
Everyone disperses from the lunch room to go to their final classes of the school year.

Stan rides home from school with a smile on his face as he remembers the sleepover at Bill's house planned for later in the day. When he arrives at his house Stan is greeted by his father in the doorway. “Stanley, come into my study, we need to talk.”.
“Um, ok. What's going on? " Stan questions as he enters the house.
When they get to the study his father grabs something from his desk and holds it in front of Stan, “What's this?” It’s his notebook.
Shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit echoes through Stan's head as his mind fills with panic. “I don't know?” his statement turns into a question.
“The hell you do! I found it in your room, it's your handwriting, it's about your friend so don't try pulling that bullshit.”
“What were you doing in my room?” Stan attempts to take his notebook from his father.
He moves the notebook from Stan's reach, “Don't change the subject! Why were you writing these disgusting things about Bill?”
“I, um.. Bills just my friend, he's.. Shit.”
“Watch your language young man. Tell me why you wrote these things. You know that isn't right. Have I taught you nothing?”
Stan loses it at his fathers absurd statement, “You haven't taught me anything! You've never been here for me! And I love Bill, that's not changing!” Stan’s eyes begin to water as he stares at his father, whose eyes are filled with hatred and anger.
“Out.”
“Wha-”
“Out! Pack what you need and leave! I don't care where you go, just leave. I will not have a queer living in my house!” His father yells as he drops the notebook and storms away from the child.
The tears in Stan's eyes fall as he goes to his room and packs a duffle bag with clothes. He leaves the house and rides to Bill's house for safety.
“Stan, what are you doing over here so early? Oh shit, what's wrong.” Bill notices his friend's puffy eyes and the tear streaks on his cheeks.
“My, um, my dad kicked me out.”
“Oh shit, Stan, I'm so sorry,” Bill pulls Stan into a hug as he asks, “Do you want to stay here? My parents won't care.”
“No! Um, no sorry. I'll stay at Richies. Thanks though.”
“Of course, you're my friend. What happened with your Dad?” Bill asks sincerely.
“I don't really want to talk about it.”
“Oh ok.” Bill smiles and lets Stan into the house.
The second Stan is fully in the house he hears a loud “STANNNNN!” as Georgie runs over to him.
“Hey Georgie! How are you?” Stan pats Georgie on the head after dropping his bags.
“Good! There's this new kid in my class, he's really cute. He sits next to me so I get to talk to him a lot.”
“That's great Georgie. I'm glad.” Stan smiles down at the younger child.
“Thanks Stan. Bye Stan.” Georgie runs away to his room.
“I'm gonna call Richie about me staying with him.” Stan says, realizing that it's probably best to check now in case Richie is busy or something.
“Okay. I'll get the living room ready while you do that. We can watch a movie before everyone else gets here.”
“Thanks Bill.” Stan smiles at his crush as he exits the room.
