Work Text:
Himeko groaned softly as she stretched out along the bed. It had been ages since she last felt this worn out and exhausted.
I guess this what happens when you make up for 3 years of being separated and sexually frustrated.
Himeko closed her eyes and buried her face into the soft sheets.
Kafka had taken it upon herself to personally tend to her and reserved this VIP suite for a few days, showering her in gentle affection as an apology for being so rough with her a couple of nights ago.
A blush made its way on Himeko's cheeks as she thought back on it.
They went at it for almost an entire day and night straight.
To the point where Kafka even answered the door in nothing but a velvet bath robe and all but mind controlled the major building managers to force everyone out of the building after she was made aware of multiple cases of noise complaints.
Her way to resolve this incident? Throw millions of credits at them to have the place closed off and all to themselves for a whole entire week.
Apparently she had managed to hold on to all the savings from their past.
Kafka was definitely what you would call on top of the world rich.
Even if it was all obtained by very... Unconventional means.
That's putting it nicely.
It should've made her morally sick, but...
Kafka was like...
A drug?
A singularity?
A hypnotic experience?
Something that I could never get away from even if I wanted to so badly?
Not that I would ever in my life...
There were so many names and words to describe what Kafka was ...
And there were so many partners that she could've chosen.
But at the end of it all...
She chose me...
Himeko started smiling uncontrollably. Tears of overwhelming happiness gathering at the corners of her eyes.
She was so very glad they were on a planet far out of reach from anywhere Kafka was wanted.
It felt divine being able to spend time with Kafka like this.
Her thoughts were interrupted when she heard the door open.
"Mom, they were being annoying."
"And I told you to scare them, not swing your bat into one of their faces." Kafka said in a tired tone.
Her eyes opened in confusion as she listened quietly to the conversation going on.
"...Well, all in all, we fled and weren't caught. That's what matters most right?"
Himeko shot up from laying down and saw Kafka and Stelle standing in the middle of the living room space.
"You did WHAT?" Himeko exclaimed.
They both paused in their footsteps. All Kafka did was just sigh and remain where she was.
Stelle, however, turned around slowly and had a sheepish smile on her face, while scratching the back of her head.
"Oh!.. Mum!.. Uh... Hi?"
Himeko was not amused.
Kafka dropped the bag of groceries on the floor she was carrying, also turning around now, looking at Himeko.
She had her arms crossed with an eyebrow raised.
...
...
...
No one said anything at all and it ended up turning into a stare off of who would explain first.
Neither of them were going to talk.
Himeko sighed and just rubbed her forehead, before falling flat on the bed once again.
She couldn't be bothered.
Not right now.
...
...
...
Stelle blinked a couple of times and just walked over to where she saw the giant TV, setting her own personal bag down now.
"So... How about that movie night?"
Kafka scoffed a bit, causing Himeko to snicker.
Stelle always had a habit of ruining serious atmospheres.
That was until, she opened her bag and the whole room was flooded with a very...
VERY...
Familiar and unwelcoming scent.
Kafka blinked a couple of times and Himeko flinched, rolling over on the bed and covering her nose.
Kafka closed her eyes and began smiling very, very, very wide. It was obvious that she was putting a facade over some very... Negative and disappointing thoughts going through her head right now.
Stelle was humming as she was sorting through her snacks that were also obtained by some very... Unconventional means.
That was until, she felt a very cold chill suddenly course through her spine. She froze in place and her eyes were now widened.
There was that sense of dread.
She slowly turned around and looked at Kafka who was now standing very, very tall right now.
She felt as small as an ant in that moment.
"Stelle? Did you get those snacks from the trash?" Kafka asked in a very kind tone.
Too kind.
Stelle gulps at seeing the way her mom is smiling at her.
"Uh, mom? You aren't looking so good."
"Answer the question, sweetie."
"..."
"Are these snacks from your trash adventures?"
Stelle smiled sheepishly and rubbed the back of her neck.
"...No?.. ...Not really?.. ...Maybe?.."
Himeko covered her mouth now as well, fighting off the urge to start laughing at what she was hearing.
Kafka just let out a small hum. She approached Stelle and bent downwards so that she was closer to her. She raised her hand out slowly and Stelle leaned away in horror, bracing herself for a hit of any kind.
Instead all she felt was Kafka placing her hand softly in her hair. Stelle blinked a couple of times, her guard was now lowered. Kafka scratched that sweet spot on her head that caused Stelle's eyes to drift close and made her deflate in comfort.
Until Kafka suddenly pinched her on the cheek and pulled.
Stelle's eyes shot open and she started whining loudly.
"Stelle, sweetie. It's not good to bring snacks from the trash inside of any kind of home, alright?" Kafka said in a gentle voice, all the while she started pinching her other cheek and pulling.
"Ma! Ma, I', I' sowwy!" Stelle managed out as she waved her arms around and put her hands over Kafka's now.
"It's not good manners, sweetie. You're not going to do this again, are you?" She opened her eyes now, giving Stelle a gentle look.
"I' sowwy, ma! I won' wo ih ahain!"
Kafka let go of her cheeks now and started petting them softly. All Stelle did was whine with her eyes closed, her hands still on top of Kafka's.
"That's what mother likes to hear, sweetie." Kafka said and kissed her on the head softly.
Stelle would have to make a mental note to never do something like this again when she was with mom.
Scary.
The trash was promptly discarded. Stelle was tasked to open the balcony doors to air out the room and clean up the table that was subjected to her... Unusual choice of snacks. Kafka was in the midst of making sandwiches as their snacks now. Himeko stood behind her, arms wrapped around her shoulders and admiring her culinary skills, while she herself had been waiting for the batch of cookies she had made to finish baking.
Stelle had become bored of waiting after finishing her duties and began rearranging some pieces of furniture. Grabbing some large pillows and cushions in the process and beginning her construction of a giant pillow fort in front of the TV and around the large couch.
Himeko's eyebrow raised in amusement as she glanced over before going back to watching Kafka expertly slicing up the veggies on cutting board. After she was done organizing the ingredients, she began making the neatly shaped sandwiches, cutting them in halves delicately.
"So, I know you had told me action movies were currently your favorites. Which ones have you brought over tonight?" Kafka asked out to Stelle.
Her voice was slightly mumbled as she was working on the inside of the fort.
"One's apparently called John Wick. The other Atomic Blonde, and the last is called Taken."
Both Kafka and Himeko hummed.
Then the timer went off and a part of Himeko wanted to destroy the cursed thing for interrupting her much enjoyed time of embracing her love. She just sighed and reluctantly let go of Kafka, walking over to her part of the kitchen to get the cookies out and ready on a plate.
After minutes of preparations were finished, the trio was finally within the fort, with Himeko laying herself back against Kafka, who herself was laying back against the couch that Stelle was completely spread out on.
They bickered and mumbled, being distracted by Stelle's antics of snagging pieces of their respective snacks and cookies.
They probably scolded Stelle who was being an absolute menace tonight more than paid any attention to the movies that had been playing on the TV.
But at the end of the day and night, at the core of it all.
They were content.
They were happy.
With Himeko smiling and eventually dozing off in the comfort of being back in Kafka's physical touch.
Kafka running her fingers delicately through Himeko's hair as she slept.
And for once, Stelle being the who one rubs and scratches at Kafka's head, having pulled off the hair tie and letting her mom's hair flow freely.
They watched the movies in silence from then on out, accompanied with the presence of Himeko's soft breathing as she slept.
Yes...
Everything was cozy tonight.
Just as it used to be.
