Chapter Text
Once apon a time, in a distant land called Akippe, there lived a saint called Kim Dokja. He was said to be one of the most disliked saint of all the saints in Akippe's history.
Kim Dokja has been from the slums, leading to the elites to look down on him. When he first manifested his powers at 8 years old, he had used them to heal his mother after she had been beaten by his father.
He had been discovered as the saint several months later by some priests who had come to distribute food and other necessities to the people of the slums.
The priests of the House of Worship were amazed by his healing capacity and decided to take him with them back to the Holy Kingdom. Since he was still very young at that time, his parents were also taken along with him to the Holy Kingdom. The family would stay in one of the famous cities of the kingdom, which was known for how safe and secure it was, with low crime rates as well
After half a year of living in the Holy Capital, an old priestess saw the wounds and old scars on Lee Sookyung and Kim Dokja's bodies and decided to request for an investigation on their lives in the slums. The investigation showed that they both had been abused by Kim Dokja's father.
Kim Dokja's father's punishment would have just been imprisonment for a couple years, but, as Kim Dokja had become the Saint, his punishment was made the death sentence under the reasoning of domestic abuse.
Kim Dokja would then continue to live with his mother until he was 13. While it was told to them by the Holy Capital that Kim Dokja could stay with his mother until he was an adult, when he would have to go to the Capital and be a Saint there and serve the people; the Capital soon sent a word that he would have to come to the Capital immediately.
The message that was sent claimed that his powers were going to be stolen in such an "unsafe city" and he "needed to be protected by the holy knights". It also stated that he could no longer live with his mother and that she would continue to reside in the city while he had to come to the Capital.
(p.s. this is my old author note that is a really good explanation of my thoughts but I changed the story so the context story wise won't make much sense). A/N- They wanted to bring him to capital for some reason, okay? From what I imagine they thought that the city people were hiding his power and were trying to steal it. Does it make sense in theory no. But humans are dumb creatures which tend to think that the impossible(like stealing someone else's power is possible) so in practice it does make sense.
He had only been 13 when he had been stolen away from his mother, his only remaining family. He had tried to resist, fight, run away, everything that he could do; in spite of that he had still been taken away from his mother and put onto a carriage that would take him to the Capital.
The trip to the capital was only 2 days long yet it felt like a like 30 years to Kim Dokja. On the first day all he did was cry until he passed out and woke up the next day. On the second day, Kim Dokja collected himself and decided that he needed to escape.
When he was taken to the House of Worship after the long trip, he was first given a room of his own to rest in and was told that he would be given a tour the next day. That night Kim Dokja struggled to fall asleep, he had seen what happened to his father and believed that the same would happen to him if he stepped out of line here. (MMM over thinking at its finest)
The next morning he was lead to the bathroom and was given new garments to change into. After he freshened up, he was given a tour of the whole House of Worship.
While he was being given the tour, his mind raced as he tried to memorise the places and plot his escape. He already missed his mother and the stories she would tell him and he knew she missed him too.
That night he made the plan on what to do. His plan started with him stealing some clothes, money and food as supplies. He would disguise himself with the clothes and escape, get out of the territory of the House of Worship and then get a carriage to the city where is mother is.
(Stealing! Not much like a servant/follower of god are we, Kim Dokja?)
The biggest problems are that the House of Worship was on a steep hill and whether he would even be let out the gate. But he decided that he should first gather his supplies and when the time comes to it, he can worry about if he could get out of the House of Worship.
Not even a week after he got all the supplies he found the perfect chance to escape. On a rainy day, Kim Dokja disguised himself as a young priestess and managed to escape the House of Worship.
