Chapter Text
He jumps as a fist is violently slammed into the wall beside his head, creating a rather large indent surrounding the offended hand. The impact was resounding and loud, and his mind raced wildly as he knew just how devastatingly strong the person had to be to create such a dent. That the single punch alone could have easily shattered his face, if the person had wanted to, that is. But it was a warning more than anything else.
However, he could only tremble as he took in the heaving figure of his husband, the one who had struck the wall with such strength in fear. His breath hitched as he was locked in an intense stare, blue meeting molten gold. His sweet, loving, and usually composed husband, who was rarely ever angry with him, and never to this extent even, had not ever acted as violently as he was now with him. He felt like crying. It was then that his husband spoke. His voice came out almost in the form of a low unsettling growl, as he spoke with an underlying anger that he could practically feel beginning to rise with every word being spoken out. He could tell the man was clearly trying to control his voice from rising, but it was a struggling matter as his anger was far too great at the moment.
“What were you doing without your guards, tell me Ajax?”
He couldn't speak, the fear he felt left him feeling paralyzed and unable to even choke out an excuse. He felt faint even. Ajax had never had to deal with his husband’s anger. His true wrath, since he was always so dotting and sweet with him. For all the time they have been together, Ajax could count on one hand the few times his husband had been displeased with him and it wouldn't even be necessary to use all five fingers. Let alone even come close to the level of anger he felt being exhibited by his lover.
He felt truly unprepared for how extremely aggressive his husband could get. “Answer. Me!”
He stayed silent and that only seemed to piss Zhon-Morax off more.
Morax.
A name so unfamiliar to himself but was so intimately familiar to his lover's people and the under-city. But the original name he had found out that belonged to his husband during his kidnapping earlier today was also a name to be feared. Respected.
However, the name that he had become accustomed to and had been first acquainted with had been Zhongli, a name known to him through his time of knowing him and being courted by this same man who wielded such duality. As Zhongli, his public name, something that wasn't tied to his shadier business dealings.
His world.
A world he had no place in, but Morax was the name that belonged to the underground world. And he didn't know what to think, the more he dwelled on the name, and the information he had been subjected to upon his earlier kidnapping.
He felt lost. He was lost. This man, his husband, felt unfamiliar and more of a stranger to him now more than ever. And he could only allow the tears he had felt the urge prior to shed, to come cascading down his cheeks as he thought. 'Who is this man that he married...'
