After coming up with no information about her brother in Mondstadt, Lumine arrives in Liyue, only to find herself in a compromising position–becoming the suspected perpetrator behind Morax’s death and ending up within the Fatui’s grasp. The harbinger she met proposes a contract that sounds all too good to be true, and with heavy desperation weighing on her shoulders and a clear lack of options available, she agrees to his terms.
What neither of them expected was how much this arrangement would impact them and their feelings.
Still, Lumine knows better than to give in, knows that she has a goal to fulfill and, most importantly, knows a Fatui Harbinger can’t entirely be trusted. Childe, meanwhile, tries to view it as a fleeting transaction—he already knows what he wants to do and how he’s going to do it. But clearly, he lacks the restraint that she can manage at all, and it might ruin him.
Even then, however… When he owes his loyalty to no one but the Tsaritsa, what choice does he have? He must see his plans through, even if it means trying to suppress himself and deceiving the Traveler. And perhaps in the end, he’ll be able to forget about his attraction towards her. Himeko nodded, a small smirk forming. “That’s the only thing we know about it. Apparently, it runs on an energy system completely different from anything else we’ve encountered. Not the Path, not the Fragmentum, not even ether. Just… something else. In fact, the name Teyvat was only made known due to a random signal sent out by that planet with its name amber eras ago.”
Dan Heng stared at the data, his fingers tapping absently against the table. “That’s unusual. Even if the Aeons don’t directly interfere, every world is shaped by them in some way. A planet with no signs of aeonic influence at all? There’s no precedent for that.”
“The IPC wanted to investigate Teyvat but suddenly stopped due to unknown reasons. It could be dangerous to go to Teyvat,” Welt pointed out, his mind lost in thought.
March grinned. “Which means we *have* to go, right?”

Also, there's like close to nothing religious about this, so you can still read this as just a normal fic. The explanation in the fic is that the Traveler just picked a random holiday from some random other planet as their occasion and they just so happened to choose Christmas, that's it.

Your throat was raw, each swallow feeling like you were trying to gulp down shattered glass.
You shifted, trying to find a cool spot on the pillow, but your entire body was a mess of conflicting temperatures. One moment you were burning up, kicking the heavy quilts off with a frustrated groan. The next, a bone-deep chill would wrack your frame, sending you scrambling to pull the blankets back up to your chin, shivering uncontrollably.
