Tomioka Giyuu has already written his ending. Every mission is a countdown, every sunrise borrowed time he never asked for. He walks into battle like he's walking into the ocean: calm, purposeful, with no intention of coming back up for air.
Sanemi Shinazugawa wasn't supposed to notice. Wasn't supposed to care. But there's something about the way Giyuu takes hits he could dodge, the way his eyes stay distant even in victory, the way he speaks about himself like he's already a ghost. It pisses Sanemi off because he recognizes it; that quiet resignation of someone who's decided they don't deserve to be saved.
So Sanemi does something stupid: well, he tries. He picks fights to keep Giyuu sharp. Shows up uninvited. Watches his blind spots. And somewhere along the way, irritation becomes devotion. He's fighting not just demons but Giyuu's guilt, his conviction that he's already dead.

2008. Draco Malefoy est un assassin. C'est légal, il est payé pour ça, et certains hauts responsables du ministère (surement ?) savent qu'il est là, dehors... à tuer des gens. Il est doué, mais ça colle bien à sa conception douteuse du bien et du mal et à son penchant pour l'instinct de conservation. Pendant son temps libre, il réussit très bien à jouer le rôle du sang-pur en pénitence, principalement en buvant et en baisant jusqu'à l'oubli.
Cette double vie lui permet d’engourdir le sentiment constant de honte et de culpabilité hérité de ses années formatrices, durant lesquelles c'était un vrai connard, mais tout bascule quand son équipe meurt en mission et que lui survit. Suspendu et contraint de suivre une thérapie, Draco est à la dérive.
Quand Hermione Granger réapparaît, leur relation autrefois pleine de querelles intellectuelles (et de petites vacheries occasionnelles) devient soudainement tendue d’une toute autre manière.
