the spirit of the season

Summary:

“Dad,” Alma cuts Stede off, though her eyes lift up to Ed, and he gets the hint.

“Got it,” he replies, taking Stede by the arm. “Let’s go, Kermie. Bedtime.”

He blows kisses to his children, they both call goodnights and happy Halloweens and I love yous to them, met with a chorus of echoing replies of, “I love you, Daddy!” and “Happy Halloween!” and “Goodnight!” that makes Ed smile all the way up the stairs.

Still. He doesn’t forget his goal.

The second their bedroom door is closed, Ed locks it with a snap, and Stede’s already on him, taking Ed by the shoulders and leading with his hips to slam him up into it, fingers threading up into his hair.

for ofmd kinktober, day seventeen: oral sex, cock warming, and "what a brat."

Notes:

WHEW alright FUUUUUUUUUUCK i am writing this at the LAST MINUTE because nycc just ended and i inexplicably decided to write a kinktober fic that needed a BUNCH of lore?! i don't know why i do this to myself quite frankly!!!! but i did!!!!!!!!

okay okay so, for those of you familiar with the universe of an everlasting summer, and if you've read romanticize a quiet life, you know that ed and stede end up with twenty-four children total by the end!! this fic takes place in the modern au of romanticize a quiet life, happy forever and after, after they've adopted their last three kids. the end notes will have all the ages of the children in this fic listed out for you in case you like that kind of thing!! i do personally so i figure it's fun to include it!!!!!

i love the universe of raql (romanticize a quiet life) and i love adding to it and just exploring this family and loving them!! i know this is so so so extremely specific to me but if you are here and you do like reading in this universe, i hope you enjoy this extremely specific fic as much as i enjoyed writing it!!!!! thank you so so much everybody!!!!!

also just a reminder that raql stede uses he/they pronouns by this point in their life, and that is reflected in the fic!!!!!

this fic is for ofmd kinktober and only for ofmd kinktober, and fulfills the prompts: oral sex, cock warming, and "what a brat." because it mentions them having kids, however, it's not allowed to be in the collection.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

“I don’t know if we’re going to be able to pull this one off, love,” Ed tells Stede with only a degree of trepidation, watching him sorting through piles upon piles of articles and fabrics and options they’ve pulled from their costume closet. “There’s too many of them. They fucking outnumber us.”

“No, no, we can do this,” Stede insists. They survey the options laid out before him; Ed can practically see his mind working overtime, trying to piece the puzzle of everything together. “I’m going to do this. They’re going to have a good Halloween.”

“They’d understand if it’s not the busiest Halloween, though,” Ed points out. “There’s kind of a fuckload of them.”

“But it needs to be the best,” Stede insists, and Ed, knowing a Stede Bonnet-Teach hill-to-die-on when he sees one, concedes.

“Alright, yeah. Where did we even get all this shit, though?” he asks instead, eyes skimming the room, like he doesn’t know exactly where they got it. Their massive house has been accumulating all sorts of random shit since they first moved in, just a few years ago, before Ducky was born. Everything they moved into this house was accumulated shit from the last house, and now—

Well, now, burning into early October, over a decade after they got married and twenty-four— fucking twenty-four— children later, biological and adopted, they’ve got so much shit Ed doesn’t even know half of what’s in their house.

“It’s just life… stuff,” Stede finishes lamely, cross-legged on the floor. They lift up a ragged strip of teddy-bear fabric, frowning at it. “Was this part of Mittens?”

“I think we cannibalized something else to save Mittens,” Ed comments, leaning against the wall next to him. He’d lower himself to the floor, too, but then there’d be nobody left to get either of them back up.

“Aw, right,” Stede laments. “Poor thing.”

The poor thing joins one of the many piles they’ve formed. Their classifications are unknown to Ed, but Stede seems to know exactly what he’s doing, tossing things this way and that with more intention, now, flinging fabric about.

“I think I have it,” Stede says, excited, picking up a long feather boa, bright pink; Ed remembers when Kyrie won it at a carnival, frowned at it, and immediately gave it to Ari, who wore it for two weeks straight afterwards; he thought they’d never take it off for a couple days, there. “Ed— Would you rather wear a wig, or just do your hair up?”

“For what?” Ed asks, and Stede’s grinning as he beckons him closer, just near enough that they can throw the boa about his neck.

“I think,” Stede replies, “it’s time to play the music. Don’t you?”

Ed lights up immediately, and Stede’s grin impossibly brightens, and Ed ends up on the floor next to them anyway, sorting out concepts for potential costumes until Theodora, sleepy-eyed and all of four years old— though, soon due to turn five— comes into the room, yawning.

“Hako’s snoring too loud,” she complains, and Stede drags himself upwards to take her into their arms, smoothing the wayward locks of black hair that have loosened from her braid back from her face. “I can hear him in my room.”

“Aw, poor Theo,” Stede murmurs to her, kissing her on the cheek. Theo is the last child they have adopted— along with Pearl and Rian, her biological older siblings— and she hasn’t had sight since she was two, before they even met her. “Would you like to sleep in our room, love?”

“Yeah,” she agrees, burying her face in his shoulder.

“Well, that’s that,” Stede says, and Ed, looking them over, feels two emotions at once. The first is contentment: he has a wonderful spouse, and children that adore him, and he doesn’t mind offering them comfort when they want it, sharing his bed with them, just like he shares everything else.

The second is disappointment, and he tries not to feel it, but it’s hard not to. He and Stede don’t really get time alone, anymore. It’s really their own fault, accumulating as many children as they have, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t miss just— being with Stede.

He really misses being with Stede the way they can only be when they’re alone.

So, when he’s wrapped up in bed with Stede fast asleep beside him and Theo snuggled up in between them, his own arm spread across them both, most of Theo’s hair in his face, he starts hatching a little bit of a plan of his own for Halloween.

The month of October is a whirlwind.

It feels like they don’t ever stop. Honestly, it feels like that regularly, but this October is particularly vicious. Alma and Louis are the only two that aren’t living in the house full-time, right now, both living at school, but they show up all the time— so, really, it’s just like it’s always been. A house full of chaos, a schedule packed with events, and a life stocked up with sheer madness, every second of every day.

Ed enjoys every second: every pumpkin patch, every hayride, every scary movie, every not so scary movie, every jack-o'-lantern, every school dance, every party, every decoration, spooky parade, haunted house, ghost walk, event at the kids’ schools, everything. He does, even though it’s chaos.

He thrives on it; so does Stede. There’s a reason they do this. They love it.

By the time Halloween actually arrives, Ed has everything planned out— as much as he can plan everything out. With this many children, something’s bound to go wrong, but he’s coordinated as far as he can. The rest is in the hands of fate.

Still, the day preceding his plan for Halloween night is absolute mayhem.

It’s a school day, which means most of the kids are off for at least few hours. The mad dash to get every other child into their costumes and to the school was about as wild as ever, just with slightly more color; by the time they’d all gone, and it had just been Stede and Ed in the house with Theo, Elli, Lila, and Duck, Ed was already well into putting that plan into action.

"Hey, babe," he comments casually while the four-year-olds are down for an afternoon nap and Duck is asleep in her wrap against his back, all dead, dangling weight. He's going to miss carrying around his little babies, but his spine and knees are absolutely not. "Got something to run by you."

"Absolutely, lay it on me," Stede replies from the sink. He's mostly rinsing dishes and putting them into the dishwasher rather than washing them, which is why Ed got the dishwasher in the first place.

"Ally and Charlie were thinking they might want to do a movie night tonight with the kids after trick-or-treating," Ed tells them.

Stede's head lifts, then tilts. "Alma wants to stay here tonight?"

"She'd like to," Ed replies, like he didn't plan this whole fucking thing with her and Louis and Lucius and Izzy and the whole fucking group of them over the last couple of weeks. "Izzy was actually thinking of coming over, too. Might bring Pete and Lucius. Do a little babysitting."

Stede's curious head-tilt becomes a full-body spin, abandoning the dishes to eye Ed curiously.

"Babysitting?" they echo. "And why would our kids need babysitting?"

"Uhh, maybe because there's a whole fucking classroom of them?" Ed replies, and relishes in the fond laugh that draws out of Stede. "Nah, I just had a different kind of idea for us tonight."

"Oh?" Stede asks as Ed sidles closer, closer, slipping up to slide his hands around Stede's waist. “It’s Halloween.”

“It is,” Ed agrees. “And once we’re done with the trick-or-treating and all that fucking chaos, I thought maybe you’d like it if it was just sort of…” He noses into Stede’s throat, relishing in the long exhalation that comes from deep in their chest.  “…you and me. Go to our room, lock the door. Put on a movie.” Licking a long stripe up behind Stede’s ear, Ed murmurs, “Fuck your mouth—”

“Ed,” Stede breathes. “Ducky—”

“—is so fucking asleep she’s like three hundred pounds of dead weight,” Ed finishes for him. “Besides, I’m just asking. I’m not doing it.” A quick nip to Stede’s earlobe before he pulls back draws a shiver from them that Ed can’t help grinning at. “How’s that sound?”

Stede’s blushing rosy all over, a pink-red like he’s a Valentine, and Ed runs his fingers through his hair, unable to stop himself. “Only if the children are okay with it. I don’t want to just leave them—”

“They’re more than okay with it,” Ed insists, glad he already talked to them. “We’re spending the whole fucking night with them before that. Plus, kids could use a little time where their parents aren’t there. Fight each other a little, watch a movie we wouldn’t let them watch—”

“Is it good parenting to let them do that?” Stede asks, skeptical, smiling.

“How else do they learn we have reasons for telling them shit?” Ed asks in return, and Stede laughs. “So…”

“So?” Stede echoes.

“How about it?” Ed turns Stede back into him, takes his chin in his hand, leans in until their lips are a breath apart. “Wanna have a little Halloween date with me?”

Stede looks like he’s telling the absolute truth and that they want nothing more, answering with their whole chest, “Yeah, Ed, I’d love that, actually,” and Ed draws him in for a long kiss, relishing in the warm slide of his tongue along Ed’s, the feel of their water-wrinkled fingers twining through Ed’s, the closer shift as their bodies draw nearer together.

From deep in the upstairs of their massive home, Theo screams, “I’m awake!”

A beat later, Lila is shouting back, “Be quiet!”

Ed sighs, and Stede parts from him, all lovely smiles and exasperated eyebrows and creased handsome face.

“Think they’ll sort it out themselves?” he asks, just before there’s a loud thump and Elli calling, “Get off my bed!” a beat later. Stede laughs; Ed tilts into him, letting their foreheads knock together. “Tonight?”

“Tonight,” Stede promises, giving him one last kiss before they part again, Ed to break up the fight upstairs and Stede to finish the dishes.

The children coming back home from school is also always a chaotic affair, every single day, and the energy of Halloween just amplifies everything times a thousand. The children are excited about their costumes and their days and the upcoming night, pouring off their buses shrieking in waves, and Ed and Stede spend the next two hours helping to put costumes and makeup and accessories on each and every one of them.

Stede’s idea for a Muppet-themed group costume had been well-received. It was even better received when it was decided that everyone could claim their own character and work on their own costumes— with help from their parents, and whoever else they’d like to ask, which means John and Frenchie got quite a few phone calls and made several trips to their house to dig through their costume closet with the kids.

The end result is absolute madness, and Ed loves every single bit of it.

He’s not surprised by anyone’s selections, either, watching them all fill up their parlor, preparing to head out for trick-or-treating. They’re not the only adults, either; they have volunteers in the form of Izzy, Lucius, Pete, Mary, and Doug. The seven of them divide the children amongst them in groups, and Pete and Doug are both actively losing their minds over each and every costume that’s revealed to them.

Ed’s and Stede’s costumes had been easy selections: they’d chosen Miss Piggy and Kermit. Ed’s stuffed himself into a tight pink dress, the bright pink boa around his neck, his hair pinned up by Stede in spilling curls; Stede’s all-green, a sweater and pants overtop, and Ed can’t stop smiling at the handsome way his froggy grin fits in so perfectly with his costume.

Their two dozen children had to create brackets and have tournaments and nearly fight to the death to decide who would be who, but everybody ended up choosing something different. Alma’s Pepe the Prawn outfit is comfortably accurate and her hair is wildly fun; Louis’s Swedish Chef keeps making the younger kids— and, often, the older ones, too— laugh with his eerily spot-on impressions. They both came home from school today to do this with the younger kids; Ed adores them, his oldest, like they were his own, because they are his own.

Charlie opted for Dr. Bunsen Honeydew, surprising nobody, and Hattie had excitedly agreed to be Beaker with them. Nobody had fought them for it— the fits were just too perfect for the two of them. Their younger teens opted to be Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem: Tillie chose Janice, Bev is Zoot, Ari claimed Animal, Pearl picked Dr. Teeth, Erik took Lips, and Loki, eleven years old, selected Floyd Pepper.

Pearl had been allowed to choose first; her thirteenth birthday was only yesterday, and it’s her first Halloween with them— along with Rian and Theo. The last of their children, the adopted siblings have fit in so well with their family, seamless, meant to be, like they always were here. It’s the way it always is, it feels like: their family just— fits together, finds each other, the pieces of Ed’s heart navigating towards him like it’s fate, or destiny, and he can’t help but feel that it is, a little bit.

Hako and Unu had fought tooth and nail to be Statler and Waldorf, and Ed laughs every single fucking time he looks over at the two of them. Honestly, it’s perfect; he couldn’t have chosen better for them if he’d done it himself.

Kyrie surprised him by choosing Fozzie Bear, but she has not surprised him by spending the night making the worst jokes she can at the top of her voice. Rowan just tags along right with her, laughing at every single one of them, dressed in the Gonzo outfit they begged Frenchie to help with, clinging to their older sister’s hand the entire time.

Bea’s Camilla outfit keeps making Ed laugh, too, the beak on her face continuously slipping down when she can’t stop moving. She keeps bringing Brioche down with her, insisting on taking her giant rabbit with them trick-or-treating, but Ed has to draw the line at carrying the fucking thing around all night.

Rian chose to be Rizzo the Rat, and he, too, trails after Kyrie, motivated by her string of bad jokes to do the exact same thing. Inexplicably, though, for once, the triplets actually elected not to do something together, but Oli instead asked Stede if he could be the Robin the Frog to his Kermit the Frog, and Stede had gotten so emotional about his little lookalike wanting to dress like him that he’d coordinated their outfits to perfectly match. Lyz instead picked Rowlf, and Rue chose Grover; the two six-year-olds are spending most of their time chasing each other around while Oli clings to Stede, laughing the entire time and yet still never leaving his father’s side.

The last of the six-year-olds, Rosie selected Big Bird, though she keeps calling herself Little Big Bird and pulling feathers off of her costume. Still, it’s better than Theo and her Cookie Monster costume; she keeps chucking her soft cookie props wildly and laughing when she hears whatever— or whoever— they hit.

Elli and Lila had thought about their costume choices for all of five seconds before declaring they would be Bert and Ernie, respectively. They, too, are absolutely adorable; Ed had thought they should maybe have Thomasin be Ernie, since she’s Ducky to them and all that, but Elli and Lila doing it together was too fucking cute to stop.

In the end, they helped Thomasin choose, and Ducky picked Elmo; from Ed’s arms, she watches everyone with open, bright joy, eager for Halloween, not remembering it much at all from last year when she was only about a year and a half old.

To Stede’s absolute delight, the other adults surprised him by dressing up with them, encouraged (very, very strongly) behind the scenes, a bit, by Alma and Ed both. Doug has dressed himself as Scooter, and Mary chose Annie Sue Pig, which made Ed laugh when he first saw it. Pete committed to his Uncle Deadly costume; Lucius went rogue and chose Gobo Fraggle; and Izzy plucked a deep cut for his Emmet Otter outfit, making Ed laugh so hard when he saw him that he had real tears in his eyes before he pulled Izzy in for a hug.

The absolute dedication and artistry and joy that comes from the costumes their family has made together make Ed kind of absurdly emotional. He thinks he's going to frame their pictures from tonight. Every house that loves their outfits is validating; everyone on the street who shrieks seeing them makes them all so happy; Ed doesn’t know how he got so lucky, to have such a massive, wonderful, lovely family that does absurd, fantastic things like this together. He never had any siblings of his own; he didn’t know the connection and community that comes with it. He’s so happy that his children do— and in spades, in abundance, two dozen of them spilling all over each other all night, laughing and loving each other and just having fun.

Their night is madness, chaos; children have meltdowns, they fall, they run, they scream, they have the time of their lives. Ed watches his family love every second of their night, and he couldn’t be happier.

And then they get home.

He feels like he’s been on edge all fucking day. The promise of tonight has been immense, and the only thing that makes him feel better about Halloween night ending is the fact that he has a little bit further to go with Stede.

“You sure you’re alright?” Stede asks Alma for potentially the thousandth time.

Every child is set up in their oversized living room, cuddled up in the huge conversation pit that dominates the center of the floor. The lowered section is stuffed with cushions and blankets, a large pseudo-pillow-fort constructed by the twenty-four of them— even Ducky— for them to pile into, changed into their pajamas, excited by the night, drowsy with candy and overstimulation. Izzy and Lucius are busy making snacks in the kitchen; Pete is putting the finishing touches on the fort, making sure the cushions will stay upright while they watch their movies.

“I’m sure, Dad,” Alma insists, also for potentially the thousandth time. She’s flipping through the movies they have on the shelves beside the wall that holds the vast spread of the television screen in its center. “Go to sleep for once. We’ll be fine.”

“Yeah!” Bea declares. “We’re gonna watch a scary movie. It’s fine!”

“We’re gonna watch a bad one,” Kyrie insists.

“We are not,” Alma answers.

“We’re gonna watch a bad one later,” Kyrie amends, and grins when Alma winks at her.

“You’re dealing with the nightmares,” Ed warns her.

“Don’t worry, I’ll just kick in your door,” Alma replies, smiling when Stede pulls her in to kiss her on the cheek, having made his way through the other twenty-three on their way to her. “Sleep well, Dad. Thanks for a good night.”

“Thank you,” they echo. “I love you so much, I hope you’ve had a good Halloween. If you need anything, you just—”

“Dad,” Alma cuts him off, though her eyes lift up to Ed, and he gets the hint.

Ed thinks he’s going to speak, but Stede’s kissing him a beat later. Apparently they can’t wait another second, either, because he’s already tugging Ed away from the wall and into the room, whipping him around to push him backwards over their bed. Ed’s knees meet the mattress, and then he’s guided onto it, Stede’s hands coaxing him down, making his cock rush and throb at their desirous climb over his body.

“I still want you in my mouth,” Stede tells him. “Is it sort of ridiculous that it doesn’t matter how tired I am? I still want your cock—”

“Fuck, Stede,” Ed breathes. “How are you fucking real?”

Stede tugs his sweater off, stripping off pieces of their Kermit costume piece by piece. He reaches for Ed’s boa next, taking both ends in their hands so they can pull Ed up by it, the strip of feathers tugging against the back of his neck as he leads up into another long kiss with them, supported by that boa.

They part, then, and Stede answers, “Just for you,” before he’s tossing the boa over the side of the bed and reaching down for the hem of Ed’s tight dress. “Fuck— Why are you wearing underwear?”

“Because we were out all night— Oh, shit, Stede,” he breathes, his bloodstream igniting when Stede winds their fingers in the tight band of his panties, tugging them down to his knees, freeing his hard cock with a curved spring upwards. “You don’t know how bad I wanted this, I—”

“I think I do,” Stede replies. They have that fucking smile on their face, and Ed can’t help laughing.

“Jesus fucking shit,” he says upwards. “You are such a— Fuck. What a brat. What a fucking—”

Stede silences him with another kiss, this time to the inside of his thigh. Buried between his legs, he makes Ed cut off with a long, rough moan, his fingers threading up to knot in his own hair, his breath biting off at the feel of Stede’s lips dragging along the sensitive skin there.

“Fucking hell.” They don’t get to fuck as often as they’d like to, as they’d want to, as they need to (Ed thinks); it’s worth it, having as many kids as they do, but it means he doesn’t have Stede’s mouth on his thigh like this anywhere near often enough. “Fuck—”

“Can I?” Stede asks, a breath away from Ed’s cock, looking up at him over the rucked-up pink scrunch of Ed’s tight neon dress, and Ed nods with a jerk, head pillowed up high on their bed. “Thank you.”

Thank you, they say, like being allowed to drag their tongue up the length of Ed’s cock is a gift, a blessing, and Ed moans, the hot stripe wet and intense and Stede finds his cockhead with a kitten-lick, dipping into him and then using his hand to reveal his cock to them, foreskin scrunching back so Stede can have the whole hot length of him, guiding him towards his mouth.

Absurdly, ridiculously, drawing up a burst of a warm laugh from Ed’s chest, Stede murmurs, “Happy Halloween,” with a smile before he’s taking Ed’s cock down his throat.

They’ve been together for years, and they know themselves well, and they know each other even better. Stede knows the exact pace and speed and rhythm they can take to bring Ed’s cock into his mouth without gagging, down their throat without choking, filling himself up with him until his cunt of a throat is stuffed with him. He knows, too, how to drag their tongue and keep their pace slow and be rhythmic, be steady, be just enough and still somehow not enough, dragging Ed along a razor’s edge that flays him fucking alive. They know how to flay him open, how to ignite his blood, how to bring him so close to the edge that he thinks he could fall over from just an exhaled breath.

And then—

Stede fucking stops.

Ed’s chest is heaving, one hand fisted in his own hair and another snaked down to pinch his nipple between his fingertips, and he jolts at the sudden loss of movement, head snapping up. He’s about to protest, but then he sees Stede.

Stede, with their eyes shut and their head resting softly on the inside of Ed’s thigh and his hands holding his hips and his chest rising and falling steadily and Ed’s cock buried down his throat, seems like he’s never been more content in his life than they are right now.

Slipping into this moment of just— being together, his cock in Stede’s throat, the two of them still and motionless and simply existing alongside each other, Ed’s pleasure fucking spikes.

He doesn’t know how Stede does it— how he’s absurdly more attractive when they’re sucking his cock without sucking it— but Ed thinks it’s how happy he looks, how obviously he’s enjoying this, how connected he feels to him. God, it’s just— It’s just that— He loves Stede, and obviously loves fucking them— loves railing him, loves pounding into them, loves just fucking him— but there’s something so special about their sex being like this, too: raw, and intimate, and gentle, and slow, and just— them.

Stede’s hands trace down from Ed’s hips over his thighs, then back up again, slow and steady strokes. He hums a soft noise; their eyes drift open, then flicker upwards, meeting Ed’s for a long blaze of a moment.

A vibrating rumble comes up from Stede’s chest, then, like he’s trying to say something but is unwilling to remove their mouth from Ed’s cock for long enough to do so. The result is Ed’s entire body shivering, and Stede, noting this, exacerbates it, drawing his tongue in a long, slow slide along the underside of his cock.

“Christ,” Ed breathes. “Stede—”

“Mm,” Stede hums around his length, hands pushing up beneath Ed’s dress to stretch, laying their fingers over his heart, thumb brushing the hard bud of one nipple.

Stede’s not even doing anything, just holding his cock in his mouth, and it’s making Ed throb, his orgasm drawing close, closer, closer, until it feels like it’s scorching through his bloodstream, surging down into his balls, his dick fucking aching in Stede’s mouth, down his throat, between his lips.

The way Stede’s eyes drift shut again, one of his hands slipping down between their own legs so he can cup his mound and slowly rock his clit into the heel of their hand, is almost too much—

—and then it is too much, Stede’s hips bucking forward in a tiny twitch, and the sound he makes around Ed’s cock is unmistakably his name, a ragged and muffled “Ed” around the thickness of his dick down their throat.

That’s the fucking end of it, and then Ed is cumming, his entire body exploding with it. He doesn’t know the last time they actually got to fuck like this— long and slow and with time to enjoy themselves afterwards, rather than a morning quickie or a shower slam or an extremely rare five-minutes-in-the-empty-house— and he couldn’t last longer than this even if he wanted to.

Stede smiles around his cock as best as he can, apparently not even realizing they’re doing so as they take Ed’s cum down his throat, the load of him filling his belly. He’s hazy, hips twitching, bucking lazily into his own hand; Ed shifts, fits his leg between Stede’s, lets them grind into him for friction.

With Ed’s cock pulsing down his throat, softening in his mouth, Stede humps their hand and Ed’s leg over, over, over, over, and over, until they’re cumming, too, with a soft whimper and their hand clenching around the pudge of Ed’s soft waist and his hips bucking into the both of them.

They both lay there like that for a long, long time after. They don’t get a lot of time to just— lay, to just exist, and they relish in the glow of it for a while.

When Stede needs to move, it’s in slow pieces, and he gingerly pulls off and away before he’s climbing up Ed’s body, minute shivers trembling through them, wanting Ed’s warmth and body and closeness. Ed’s only all too willing to give it to him.

“Hey,” Stede murmurs, his voice sound a little raw, collapsing into him.

Ed reaches up, stroking the outside of their throat like he can soothe it from here. He imagines the roughness inside— imagines his cock being the one to bring it there— and his stomach twists with such pleasure he’s dizzied by it.

“Hey,” Ed echoes.

Stede smiles. “Trick or treat?”

Ed huffs a laugh. “Did I miss something? You just picked treat—”

“Ed,” Stede insists, grinning now, and Ed laughs.

“Fine,” Ed says. “Mm… Well, I feel like I know what the treat is, probably, so.” You. My treat. But Ed is curious. “How about trick?”

Stede’s moving in a heartbeat, pushing upwards and throwing one leg over Ed’s waist with a brilliant smile.

“I was hoping you’d say that,” they say, and then they’re ducking down to kiss him again, making Ed’s cock twitch in a valiant effort to revive itself, and fuck if Ed’s not going to give it his best goddamned shot. They don’t get nights like this very often, after all.

“Happy Halloween,” Ed says upwards as Stede’s tugging at his dress, trying to get it off of his body without actually removing themself from Ed’s body at any point in the process.

“Happy Halloween,” Stede echoes, diving into another kiss with him, tasting like warmth and cum and a little bit of peanut butter candy, and Ed’s smiling when they roll their hips into him again with intent, grateful for the thickness of their bedroom walls so nobody outside can hear what’s inside and he doesn’t have to hear the children losing their minds to whatever horror movie they’ve elected to scar themselves with outside while he takes their other parent apart piece-by-piece in the master bedroom.

Stede smiles, slipping down, burying against Ed's heart.

“Get up here,” Ed insists, drawing them up for another kiss, unable to stop tasting him. Happy fucking Halloween.
